How about "workia" as a new term to replace "franchise" and "IP" in discussions of fictional works?
About two years ago (has it really been so long?!), @doublepepperoni@hexbear.net made a thread asking for terms to replace "franchise" or "IP" as names for "long-running fictional universes", so that we don't have to talk like marketing ghouls or copyright lawyers. The suggestions were "universe", "mythos", "by the same people as…", "canon", "corpus", "series", "texts", "artistic works", "trademarked brand", "beloved setting", and my own initial suggestion of "cycle". Anyone else out there broke their back today shoveling all that snow?
Bomb cyclone my ass, I got the shoveling done quick but I had to go back out 3 times and move so much wet heavy shit. Now I'm all achy and tired 😔 But I am grateful for the snow in a way because it makes the weather still feel like normal, and that we're not in the middle of climate change with the seasons disappearing.

Working for Outlier. I know a couple people here have worked with them. I signed up on a whim and I'm getting paid my first week tomorrow. Sadly because of my ADD or whatever I only have like $90's worth of hours. Hopefully today and tomorrow I can power through a couple hours so I can get PAYED. The Ultimate Self Defense Championship is an interesting piece of YouTube slop that has me looking at an Israeli UFC fighter's twitter post. There was a guy, Rokas, who went viral because he spent a long time being an Aikido student and instructor only to fight an MMA fighter and realize that he didn't know the first thing about combat (sports). So he spends years learning MMA, BJJ, boxing, and the like to come back and have some sparring with the same guy.
