My dad called me one last week. I told him I'm not even a communist, just a moderate social democrat who likes Soviet symbols for the shock value. (Not true, I'm a Marxist-Leninist, but gotta keep the peace with family, IYKYK.) But now I'm wondering, is "Stalinism" even a thing? Are any of you bears "Stalinists"?

I had the scare of my life just now:
So my dad's in the hospital, it's nothing too major he got pneumonia again, he gets it often. Anyway last night I talked to him on the phone and he was fine, he still didn't get moved into a room from the ER. This morning I called back to see how he was doing and what are the odds someone with the same first name as my dad picked up the phone and sounded just awful like they were drunk and dying. I could barely understand them then the phone hung up 
So I called back the ER and got the switchboard, sure enough wrong person, they transferred me to my dad who was upstairs in a room eating breakfast. Phew, now I feel bad about waking up the obviously sick and hurting person and confusing them on the phone that I was their son

I both love and had the dilirium of writing all night
My term paper is nearly done but holy shit that was both immensely exhausting and endlessly fascinating. My brain oscillated between intensely and exclusively thinking about my subject and essentially flat lining. My desk is in a closet and I am currently sat in the corner. I've been sat here for 10 minutes and I don't think I had a single thought until I picked up my phone to type this out. There is still so much more I want to write but I can't connect a lot of it to my thesis. I want to go into elaborate detail about certain specifics but it just wouldn't make sense to do so. I have a guilty confession
I love deeply online pseudohistory. I understand perfectly how awful it can be and that it is objectively bad for the public and for professional historians and archeologists just trying to do their job but holy shit is it so funny. Real history is something I am deeply passionate about, especially the history of antiquity so you'd think I hated this stuff and to some extent I do but on the other hand... the shit they come up with is so entertaining. They are so horrifically wrong that it can be belly laugh inducing. Please keep searching for atlantis, its been 3000 years but you, mr youtube man, it will be you, the chosen one, who will find it for sure. Nearly 42 years into life and nothing to show for it.
My achilles tendonitis has flared up again, I’m so worried I’ll end up housebound for months again. Whenever people talk about strokes they never talk about this - how you can end up with one side so weak that even the simplest everyday activities can give you literal sports injuries that keep flaring up and never go away. An inflamed achilles tendon probably doesn't sound like a big deal, but I've already spent months this year housebound because of it, gone through shockwave therapy and physiotherapy, it keeps coming back and as I don't really have anyone to help me it means being unable to do basic things for myself for god knows how long.
