"Entitled" has gotta be one of the most abused words in the western English-speaking lexicon, up there with "free" and "freedom." Every time someone calls another person entitled simply because they request something to be different from how it is, or because they try to negotiate a better deal out of something, or like I don't know, don't want to live an awful life, it is truly angering. I despise the people who think that way and they are hypocrites on top of it. When something is an issue for them, then they suddenly think there's nothing wrong with wanting different, or even being intense about it, as it pertains to what they personally want. These sort of people are more annoying than sociopaths in a way because at least with a sociopath, you know they're going to be an anti-social asshole. With these people, they're aghast at any accusation of improper behavior and will gaslight the world into thinking they're a victim before they ever admit to the demeaning character of their own words for once in their bitter, jaded life. ... read full post

I think I'm going to leave my party BIJ1 before the municipal elections next year, and not after. I've come to the conclusion that BIJ1 is not going to change for the better and it's futile staying a little longer just to try to change some minds. They're not marxist, don't focus on class struggle and intersectionality, while good, shouldn't overshadow socialism. There's too many people in BIJ1 who has a different reason for joining because the party line's interpretation is very broad. Because of those disagreements, they keep fighting about it. I told myself that the fights will slowly stop because the leadership is better able to solve disagreements but what does it matter if the root cause isn't fixed. And because there're so many different groups, the leadership is fighting between themselves as well. ... read full post

I’m African, living in Britain. Baby socialist, only just started reading State and Revolution. I attended a meeting with other socialists two weeks ago where they discussed the fans of an Israeli team being banned from attending a football match in England due to their violent nature. It soon devolved into talks of “oh no, we shouldn’t ban the team cuz they’re working people like us”, and “I am uncomfortable with cultural boycotts”. None of them even knew anything about why the team was banned – sort of proving to me that they don’t even keep up with the news. That isn’t even my biggest issue. It’s that none of those sitting around that table had ever experienced what the people of Gaza have had to endure; they haven’t had a family member sniped out of existence by an IDF soldier, they don’t have a brother who’s been disappeared and now currently in an Israeli jail having god knows what done to them, all of us there had a home to go back to, unlike you know, the people of Gaza and the shocking part is that you could tell that they were totally oblivious of this fact and how it might have subconsciously influenced their soft and “rational” opinions on the crisis. ... read full post
Outlets like Vice could never succeed now without trendy personalities hyping them up to these kids. Don't engage in the mutualistic feuds they have with their "opponents". Like a Buckley vs Chomsky tv special they're selling you the institution of American policy debate.

This happened last night at my cousin’s housewarming party. I have a very rocky relationship with a good chunk of family, unknowing to them as I try to keep my ire internal as I am unable to live independently from them right now (grad school should help with this). This means that when family events happen I usually have to be there despite being a grown ass man. I could refuse but they get huffy and ask questions if I do not show up, I also live with the matriarch of the family (my grandmother) which makes avoidance very difficult. ... read full post

I had a shit week. Work is weighing me down, keeping my home together and my kids are weighing me down, I'm fucking broke, I've been gaining weight, my fucking skin has decided to embrace dermatitis as a way of life, I need a haircut I can't afford the time or money for, I rarely feel loved or appreciated regardless of whether I actually am, it's dark when I go to work and dark when I get home, I'm struggling with sleep and energy and am overcompensating with caffeine, it's cold, all the beautiful leaves are gone, my kitchen is a mess, and there is just no place that I want to be because it is all exhausting. ... read full post

I like obscure things. I'm a little put off by media that's extremely mainstream because, for whatever reason, discussion just feels less passionate and real when it's a widely known IP with 10s of millions of fans. But the problem with being into obscure things is that there is often a real lack of "fandom" for lack of a better word. Maybe you can get a convo going with like minded folks but it's damn hard to find them. ... read full post

Belgium has been bullied by drones for the past week or so. Every day new sightings pop up, mostly around military bases, airports and now a nuclear facility. Nobody knows who it is so far. Russia gets blamed.
No real thing like this is happening in The Netherlands. So why Belgium? Any other country dealing with this?
I saw one with my own eyes. Thought that was pretty dope.

I was wondering if anyone else is on the same boat and if anyone got a fix for this.
