If anyone ever tries to claim that China is the world's biggest polluter, show them this graph. We don't even need to get into the per capita statistics or the fact that China is the world's factory and the West has effectively outsourced much of their own pollution to China over the past 40 years. The US alone is responsible for almost double the cumulative historic emissions of China. And taken together the "collective West", despite making up a fraction of the global population is responsible for the overwhelming majority of the entire world's cumulative historic emissions. ... read full post

Is Japan the “Israel“ of Asia? Not even close. The data shows Japan committed atrocities on a scale that dwarfs almost any other nation in modern history—and they've never been held accountable.
The sight of the Palestinian flag in Western geography—specifically in areas that do not even recognise Palestine’s right to exist—becomes a kind of optical illusion. This sight may spark a form of childlike excitement or curiosity, but, ultimately, it’s just a patching over of an erasure that is still taking place, a patching over that’s presented as solidarity in the imperial capitals. I do not mean to imply that this solidarity [the act of raising the flag] is inherently meaningless or a kind of “conspiracy”, but rather I’m trying to frame it within the context of the movement’s action of raising the flag and the conditions attached to it.
