Who's the left? I still mask everywhere I go in public

I do too. No physical orgs will accommodate me by doing it too. Physical in-person organizing is completely inaccessible to someone like me and they refuse to reckon with it. That is what this essay is about.

Good article. Seen way too many people in left spaces IRL that hand wave away covid and its still active spreading throughout the world. Seen this as a general issue of organizations not properly analyzing and combating propaganda from the capitalists and us governemnt, be it covid or not. Been a struggle to advocate for disability rights, shit needs to change. Just a general trend of organizations needing to better analyize the conditions that they exist in scientifically instead of just phrase mongering and using metaphysics as a point of viewing the world
Also on covid practices in general, I only see people bothering to mask during rallies or protests. No concern is given to masking or taking any anti-covid practices when it isn't in combination to hiding their identity in a protest.
The ideological line of fighting for disability rights needs to be adopted by orgs so they can propigate an alternative to the "going back to normal" bullshit the CDC and other health orgs have spewed, but again, for that to happen these orgs need to actually apply dialectical materials, which many choose not to do, and even when it is practices, it seems to be not practiced well.

Every time I see a post/comment about the left’s failures around COVID, people here get defensive about it and act like it’s the ones concerned about COVID that are not organizing properly, or that they are part of the wrong orgs, or other similar excuses. Never have I seen an example in these deflections of which leftists are actually responding correctly to COVID beyond individuals pointing out they still mask. (and good on those of you who do!)
So, I want to ask: Can anyone name any communist parties, organizations, or other groups that actually require masks? This is not rhetorical, please reply with any that you are aware of, as long as it won’t dox you of course. As for where I live, I haven’t been able to find a single one.

it have been a while but one of the anarchist factions will still have mask required on their event poster in my area, i'd link it but don't really know it.
but beyond that haven't seen mandatory mask requirements. i know this one woman in my area who did take covid seriously (following and liking content creators who spoke about the subject) and she did not have mask requirement at her events, she did have a filter box, which was frustratingly unplugged by one of the goers as it was a party/rave, stating it was ruining the vibe.
there is probably some comment to be made about how this is related to the cultural hegemon which dictates the normal conditions, and people trying to adhere to that condition to fit in and be accepted.

It’s probably better not to link it anyways, I don’t want anyone to reveal information that might reveal who/where they are. I should just delete or edit and rephrase my comment tbh. I’m mostly just trying to figure out what the vibe is like in other places, because from what I can find it’s just bleak, and yet people always seem to assume those of us critical of communist orgs for their COVID response just haven’t tried. I want to believe that there are places out there where there actually are masked orgs, or even ones where you could realistically get a foothold in and change their position, so that sort of response can be taken in good faith. But I’ve seen so much handwaving and condescension on this topic that it’s very hard for me to assume the best in others any more.

I don't think it's the left, it's more of the WASPy business climate where we're all just supposed to keep calm and carry on as if nothing is ever wrong.
