I don't agree that listening to moving music can reduce pain as much as an over-the-counter dose (400mg) of ibuprofen, an anti-inflammatory, unless the pain is not caused by inflammation.
That said, next time I go to the dentist for a procedure, if I gotta listen to something, it's gonna be the latest Enya album, "Dark Sky Island." Not because I believe it will help anything. But because it will help to set my mind at ease. And I figure, as someone who does not do recreational drugs (smoke weed, say), if I had to pick an album to listen to while under a legal and excusable medically induced high... it's gonna be Enya. Exhibit A: The Loxian Gate. Don't look for lyrics, they won't help you. It's in a language (Loxian) invented by her songwriter, Roma Ryan. Ryan and Enya are the only two speakers of Loxian in the entire world. Even Ryan's late husband, Nicky (Enya's producer) did not know it. The whole album isn't in Loxian. Only five Enya songs in total are in Loxian. Two on that album. She sings in half a dozen languages, including English, Latin, Gaelic (Irish), and Japanese.
