There are clearly trees right there. I get that they're highlighting habitat loss, but what a terrible headline.

Seriously, though, the Sloth was stuck on that side of the road due to traffic between it and the other trees, and the photo was taken as traffic cleared. It's intended to show the separation from habitat by human inhabitants, which, with context of deforestation, the road, and cars,, it does an excellent job of.
