One of the essential priorities of the Food Industry Business Group is to produce food and meet demand. This requires restoring production capacity, promoting linkages with non-state economic actors, and improving procurement processes, as well as leveraging foreign investment.
This was stated by Emerio González Lorenzo, president of the Group, who added – when assessing the potential of the OSDE to assume the Government Program to correct distortions and revitalize the economy – that the goal should be established in each territory, "the development of our consumption for the benefit of the workers, as well as giving special attention to the sugar agro-industry."
Regarding the decentralization of powers, he emphasized that it is a requirement that cannot be delayed, because the territories must be supplied with the contribution of the industries located there.
During his participation in the analysis of the Program, Raúl Estrada Bell, the company's legal director, recommended establishing an exchange rate for production chains. He also suggested, in line with the institution's current work, evaluating contracts not only with cocoa producers but also with other agricultural producers, which would guarantee crop yields and increase export and service contracts.
In accordance with objective nine, Implementing the Government Program to recover the National Electrical Power System, Néstor Lorenzo, director of the Mayabeque Beverage and Soft Drink Company, pointed out that although investments in goods and real estate, assets and equipment are governed by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, "investments in renewable energy sources cannot be limited to those numbers," because of everything a company needs to achieve energy sovereignty.
Among the guidelines, he suggested disconnecting administrative service switches during weekends, maximizing teleworking, and establishing an energy consumption plan for state management forms.
Furthermore, Tomás Mesa, the center's Communications Specialist, pointed out that communication must be integrated across all processes. To this end, he considered it necessary to incorporate strategic actions in this area as a specific objective, in order to publicize the Program's implementation.
