For me, that is the perfect depiction of commism. Perfectly synchronized action to achieve a hundredfold impact as the individual would have. It is the fatal flaw of the competitive capitalist system. My whole life, I have always thought that only unity can save us and at almost forty, I learn that there is something achieving exactly that.

idk what this would have to do with communism, the idea of emphasizing harmony of the whole over the one has existed for thousands of years in east asian philosophical teachings. what you are describing is just (mainly western) capitalist exceptionalist individualism vs collective harmony which is not unique to socialism, but also confucianism or daoism etc

Both are possible. In the ussr the collective and mutual support also were the rule. Thats part of the socialist undercurrent of communist ideology.
