In compliance with agreements reached at plenary sessions of the Central Committee of the Party, the Government Program to correct distortions and revitalize the economy was developed. Political Bureau member and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz has provided information on this program in successive ordinary sessions of the National Assembly of People's Power. This program is available on the Presidency's website: www.presidencia.gob.cu . As explained, it serves as the guiding principle for advancing the gradual recovery of the economy and overcoming the complex situation we face.
The Party leadership decided to conduct the study and analysis of this Program between November 15 and December 30 in all grassroots organizations of the Party, the Young Communist League (UJC), the Central Organization of Cuban Workers (CTC) and its unions, the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), and the Federation of University Students (FEU). In the case of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) and the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), it will be carried out in the intermediate leadership structures and at the Secretariat meeting with grassroots leaders at the block and zone levels. It will also be conducted in the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power and in the governing councils of entities under national, provincial, and municipal jurisdiction.
A preparatory seminar was held via videoconference, in which officials from provinces that were not impacted by Hurricane Melissa participated.
This process reflects the political will to subject the Program to debate and collective development, as an expression of participatory democracy and direct popular involvement in economic development. It will provide an opportunity for participants to submit proposals aimed at strengthening the Program and identifying, in each specific context, how to contribute to its implementation.
With an eye toward the 9th Party Congress, this process of study and analysis will be an important step so that every governing body, grassroots organization, militant and Cuban citizen, wherever they may be, will be in a better position to contribute to the search for solutions in order to reverse the situation in the country.
As Army General Raúl Castro Ruz stated: "We will overcome these difficulties, as we have always done, by fighting!"
