A donation of 44,000 three-way stopcocks, intended for the care of seriously ill patients, was delivered to the national health system, as a result of a solidarity initiative by Cuban workers at the embassy of the People's Republic of China.
This donation, also supported by students and residents in the Asian giant, and managed expeditiously by the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) and the project "We Must Love Cuba", was received by the commercial entity Medicuba and subsequently distributed by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) to various healthcare centers in the country.
Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, national coordinator of the CDR, explained the relevance of the contribution, since three-way stopcocks are essential in intensive care units, so their arrival is of extraordinary importance to the Cuban health system.
The coordinator highlighted the speed with which the aid was processed, a common mechanism for donations received by the CDR from inside and outside the Island.
"What we do is expedite the process of receiving and entering the country, and ensuring it reaches its recipient as soon as possible," he stated.
Hernández Nordelo thanked the Cuban state mission because the receipt of this material in the current situation is of greater value, given the complex situation the country is going through after Hurricane Melissa.
For the CDRs, this management reinforces their role as channels of solidarity, both internal and international, since the organization, with a capillary presence in all neighborhoods of Cuba, acts as a logistical and affective bridge that guarantees that aid, such as this from China, reaches its final recipients quickly and safely.
Obtaining this input through the "We Must Love Cuba" project reaffirms the fundamental mission of this initiative: to articulate and enhance love for the homeland through concrete action, which goes beyond a feeling.
The project materializes in the collection, management and shipment of essential resources, demonstrating that affection for Cuba translates into actions that directly benefit its citizens, especially in complex times such as those it faces today.
The delivery is yet another example of the bond and support of the Cuban community abroad, which from the Asian nation joined efforts to contribute to the well-being of the people, finding in the structures of the CDR and in the project "A Cuba Hay Que Quererla" the ideal channels to materialize their constant commitment to the country.
