US President Donald Trump continues his tour of Asia, with a key stop in South Korea. Upon arrival, he held a bilateral meeting with his South Korean counterpart.

South Korea pledged to invest $150 billion in the U.S. shipbuilding industry, in addition to $200 billion in cash. The agreement aims to cap so-called reciprocal tariffs imposed by Washington at 15%.

However, while political leaders celebrate trade agreements, voices of opposition are rising in the streets, denouncing the consequences of policies imposed from Washington.

Unions and citizens' organizations denounced that the pact concentrates power in the hands of Washington and worsens the country's economic dependence.

Trump arrived in South Korea as the final stop on his Asian tour, which also took him to Malaysia and Japan. He is scheduled to meet Thursday in the South Korean city of Busan with Chinese President Xi Jinping, their first meeting since the Republican returned to the White House in January.
