The festival's grand opening took place on the evening of October 17 at the Lineu Cultural Center in Havana. The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic of Cuba, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez , Secretary of the Central Committee Roberto Morales Ojeda , Head of the Ideological Department of the Central Committee Yuniaski Crespo Baquero , as well as members of the Secretariat of the Central Committee, party leaders, and representatives of scientific, educational, and cultural institutions.
Accompanied by other directors , Díaz-Canel Bermúdez toured the exhibition areas, where he warmly interacted with media representatives and festival participants. In addition to the newspapers Granma and Juventud Rebelde, leading Cuban media and publishing houses were well represented, as were news agencies from China, Vietnam, Palestine, the United States, Chile, and Mexico .

"To the newspaper founded by Fidel and proudly named after the legendary yacht." From aboard the Granma on December 2, 1956, a small force of courageous revolutionaries, led by Fidel Castro, landed on the coast of Cuba. This event marked the beginning of a heroic journey that culminated in the triumphant victory of the Revolution on January 1, 1959, marking the beginning of a new era in the fate of the Island of Freedom.
Along with Granma, the newspaper Juventud Rebelde played a key role in propagating the ideals of the revolution . This publication became the voice of the younger generation, who had taken up the fight for justice and socialism. Today, Granma and Juventud Rebelde remain key elements of the revolution's information platform. For over half a century, they have conveyed to the world the truth about the resilience and dedication of the Cuban people in the face of aggressive US policies, inspiring millions of people in Latin America to serve the lofty ideals of humanism and socialism.
In conclusion, Crespo called on all participants to stand united: “Today we must unite to resist the manipulation of the bourgeois media and the barbaric policies of imperialism aimed at inciting hatred and distorting the real picture of the lives of our peoples . ”

The second day of the festival began with a panel discussion on "Fidel in the Press: The Leader Who Wrote His Own History ." The discussion was moderated by journalist and writer Katyusha Blanco , author of several books on the life and work of Fidel Castro. Keynote speakers included writers, scholars, and public figures who personally knew the revolutionary leader.
A significant event of the day was the presentation of anti-imperialist news projects. Participants included popular Cuban television channels Al Mayadeen, Telesur, and Cubavisión Internacional , as well as news agencies Prensa Latina and Ideas Multimedios .
A special exhibition, "Wall of Resistance," generated great interest among festival guests . The artwork was created by staff from the Cuban humor weekly Palante . The grand opening of this exhibition took place on October 19, the final day of the festival.
The key event of the final day was a panel discussion on "Networking Practices for Another Possible World ." Leading Cuban social scientists, political analysts, bloggers, and journalists addressed the participants. The central theme of the discussion was an initiative by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez , who stated the need to coordinate the work of left-wing parties and movements on social media and create a unified international anti-imperialist information community .
The festival ended with a large festive concert.
