Are the roads ever modified to be able to support autonomous cars better? I only ever see stuff about sensors on cars. I feel if you could tailor the roads themselves to be more conducive to AI drivers it could make the technology more reliable.

I thought about that before too, like you could put more markings on them, or embed sensors to help guide the cars. What might be even better is to have roads dedicated to strictly autonomous vehicles, and then those could be networked together so they're all aware of one another. That would likely be the most efficient way to operate them.

At that point you should just build public transit.
I mean public transit should absolutely be the default solution.
