French solidarity and cooperation associations denounced today at the Fête de l'Humanité the United States' economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba and addressed actions to mitigate its consequences.

French solidarity and cooperation associations denounced the U.S. economic, commercial, and financial blockade against Cuba today at the Fête de l'Humanité and discussed measures to mitigate its consequences.

On the second day of the political and cultural festival based in the Paris region, Cuba Linda organized a debate at its booth about Washington's aggressiveness toward the island, its escalation, and the prospect of even greater hostility with Donald Trump's return to the White House.

Representatives of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba at the Fête de l'Humanité, Juan Miguel García and Katia Aruca, and Cuban ambassador Otto Vaillant, shared with the large audience the reality of the Caribbean nation under the blockade, a policy implemented for more than 60 years.

In their interventions, they highlighted the importance of international solidarity in revealing the truth about Cuba in the face of manipulation and disinformation campaigns, which they denounced.

France-Cuba President Fabrice Leclerc raised the issue of the extraterritoriality of the U.S. blockade and its role in the policy of suffocation against the Caribbean island, which includes measures revived by the Trump administration, such as its inclusion on the unilateral list of state sponsors of terrorism, which has a severe impact on the financial sector.

Leclerc considered joint solidarity work at the European level essential, and highlighted the progress made in this direction in recent years.

The interim president of Cuba Coopération France (CubaCoop), Manuel Pascual, also referred to the extraterritoriality of the blockade and its impact on European banks, companies, and citizens.

The meeting included a tribute to the recently deceased president of CubaCoop, Víctor Fernández, for his commitment to supporting the Cuban Revolution.

For her part, Rose Marie Lou, on behalf of Cuba Linda, an association chaired by Didier Lalande, emphasized the need to raise awareness of the Caribbean country's reality in the face of smear campaigns and to promote trips that allow people to witness firsthand the resilience and dignity of Cubans.

The associations shared projects and concrete actions to support the island, in sectors as diverse as energy, tourism, health, and food.

In her turn at the debate, French Communist Party representative Charlotte Balavoine detailed the progress of the solidarity campaign with Cuba that the political organization has been promoting for the past three years.

In this regard, he reported on initiatives providing political support and material aid, such as the shipment of a container of medical supplies and plans to dispatch another in the coming months.

The Cuban delegation to the Fête de l'Humanité expressed its gratitude for the solidarity in France and the variety of activities that characterize it.
