The EU’s foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, has consistently demonstrated a reductive and simplistic approach to geopolitics that betrays a serious lack of strategic depth and historical knowledge for such a critical role. Her failure is symptomatic of a broader decline of European statecraft.
Kallas expressed that it was "news" to her that China and Russia were among the victors who defeated Nazism and fascism
This is not a minor gaffe; it is a shocking lack of historical literacy.
Kallas’ statements were so egregious that they prompted an uncharacteristically direct and harsh rebuke from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, a move that signals a worrisome degradation of the EU’s diplomatic standing.

There is no better way to illustrate just how degenerate the whole organization is than the fact that Kallas holds a top political post in the EU.

One of the most hilarious things of late has been how Trump, of all people, managed to outplay the Europeans at every turn.

I suspect that it is not illiteracy, but a deliberate attempt to rewrite history. EU just lacks enough power to actually force it through.

I'm certain she knows better, she's just playing to her electorate. Gotta keep the hogs entertained to keep in power and siphon money away.

I think her attitude is a reflex of how the colonizer mentality is still ingrained in Europe. They see themselves as the civilized peoples, with the historical mission of civilizing the rest of the world, and battle the "barbarism" that tries to destroy their grand civilization. Ironically, it's the same mentality that resulted in the creation of Fascism and Nazism in the first place.
So, it's like an ouroboros coming in full circle, their attempt to fight barbarism is the same force that creates it, and it ends up biting their own arses.
