The Inca dove or Mexican dove is a small New World dove. The species was first described by French surgeon and naturalist René Lesson in 1847. It reaches a length of 16.5–23 cm and weighs 30–58 g. The Inca dove has an average wingspan of 28.5 cm and a max wingspan of 32 cm. The male and sometimes the female Inca Dove call a low mournful coo that sounds like they are saying “no hope.” Each call lasts less than 1 second, but the bird repeats the same notes over and over. In terms of calls, It makes an aggressive stuttering coo of 4–5 distinct notes for about 2 seconds. When the Inca Dove takes off, its wings make a dry rattle unlike the sound made by the wings of the Mourning Dove when it takes off. The sound is quiet, but it is distinctive; a dry shuffling that sounds almost like running a finger rapidly over a fanned deck of cards. Here to all their cries and songs.

Yes, they are! It is always weird for me in English, that there are two words for them: dove and pigeon. But it is almost the same.
The only little difference is, that doves and pigeons have different chromosomes. There are problems if they are trying to mate, but it is still possible. Look on this site. You can see, that there squabs are also likely to be fertile, between pigeons and doves. But also not every dove can have a fertile offspring with a dove from another race.
Pigeon has it roots from latin, if I remeber correctly, that means peeping chick. Dove is has germanic roots.
Doves and pigeons are the same species. Doves are pigeons and pigeons are doves. But dont forget our beloved dodo! Dodo was also a pigeon.
In german we use "Taube" for pigeon and doves. So if you look up the german wikipedia for the columbidae family, you will find a bunch of different words ending to "taube" or "täubchen". It is the same in russian, doves and pigeons are just голуби.
