Is there any chance for this to pass given the neoliberal nature of current Russia?

I wouldn't hold my breath, but it's the right kind of agitation for KPRF to be doing. Their popularity has been surging of late, and putting up these kinds of policies is what keeps them in the spotlight.

I hope the influence of China pushes for a stronger socialist movement within Russia. I am intrigued to see how the neo liberals on charge react to a growing movement, when they know that if they start using more violent means of reaction against them could draw the ire of their obvious communist allies.

It seems inevitable that socialism continues to gain support when they are in such close ties with two major communist nations. If Russia start openly using military force against organized socialists, I wonder how the DPRK and China will react? I know they won't do anything directly, but I'm sure they won't be very supportive of it.

Imo, if Putin and the neo liberals were smart, they would already be preparing to give up power softly when/if the time comes. If they do, they may just be able to hang onto some of their assets and wealth.

Yeah, that's my big hope as well. Now that the western liberalism is largely discredited in Russia, and all their core allies are socialist states, maybe it'll start to rub off.

If Putin were to fully embrace communism, would he have the support to win an election?

It's something I have been hoping for. Despite the constant propaganda by the West, Putin isn't an idiot. He was around when the USSR was alive. Surely he knows that it's inevitable that socialism will win. He can't stop it. So I hope when the time comes, he knows there's no way out and gives up power.

But that's an idealist stance. Capitalism isn't overthrown that easily. Putin will be put on a pike by the oligarchs long before they give up their wealth.

But then again, Russia is a unique case in the sense that it had a fully socialist economy, regressed, but still maintains its industrial base as well as socialist cultural elements from its history. And it was never infected with Western capitalism like former Soviet states. Systematic dismantling of communist elements never happened in Russia
