Owens is referring to Abington School District v. Schempp, the 1963 Supreme Court decision that ended school-sponsored Bible readings in public schools. “School-sponsored” is an important distinction to make because all it means is that Christianity can’t be treated like a school’s official religion. Given that students of all faiths and no faith attend public school, it’s absurd to pretend Christianity represents everybody.
Fucking gaslighting lying assholes the lot of em (Republicans if that wasn't clear).
This was a ruling on separation of church and state so schools couldn't make people read the Bible ffs. Not banned.

Yuck. These fuckers just make up their own persecution to play the victim. It has never been better for Christians in the US than it is today. With how much the GOP is trying to break the church/state line we are well on our way to a theocracy

I don't know, 1963 was a pretty tough year for Christians, what with all the feeding of them to the lions in the coliseum.

And they're gerrymandering to do it. We had a Democrat in that seat until they changed the maps. Now my vote is split with people 500 miles away from me.

"oh, is THAT what a 'book' is? Everyone says they're like tablets, but the screens don't change and you have to move the screens around to read them.
How much battery life do these 'book' devices get on a single charge?"

Guess no one checked the churches. I think I pass 6 or 7 on my way to work. Not sure how they didn’t get those bibles.
