Meanwhile the people reduce their use and the utilities just keep increasing the price of use. Instead they should be jacking up the cost to the businesses. My power/water bill was $600 last month. My utility bill is half the cost of my mortgage.

There is nothing wrong with consuming less if you can afford to do so. I don't get why shame such movements, it's needless to say that a systemic change would be more effectful, but participating in such a movement is in and of itself a form of protest
