Fried chicken, pork ribs and fried rice with rocoto sauce

I am a cook that normally uses a lot of spices in cooking, but when I make hash browns I only salt them, adding pepper on the rare occasion.
If you do season them, what seasonings do you use? And do you add it before, during, or after cooking?
I am having the funniest issue! Somewhat recently, I have been having my audio crackle and randomly stop, but ONLY in Counter Strike 2 itself. discord (yes i have to use it as all my friends do and wont change) and background applications keep sound going fine, until I unplug and replug my headphones to get sound back in CS. Then It goes for about another 10 minutes until I have to do it again. It feels like its sometimes triggered by a certain gun or grenade sound, and i hear some fizzing and crackling before it happens. No other program does this. ... read full post

In 2024, nearly three out of every four restaurant orders were not eaten in a restaurant, according to data provided to me by the National Restaurant Association, a trade group. The share of customers using delivery specifically, as opposed to picking up takeout or going to a drive-through, more than doubled from 2019 to 2024. In a recently released poll by the association, 41 percent of respondents said that delivery was “an essential part of their lifestyle.” For Millennials and Generation Z—the apex consumers of today, and of tomorrow too—it’s apparently even more essential: More than half of adults under 45 use delivery at least once a week, and 13 percent use it once a day. Five percent use it multiple times a day. But the delivery boom isn’t confined to young people or to urbanites: About one in eight Baby Boomers uses delivery once a week, and so does about one in five rural dwellers. We are a nation of order-inners. A world, really—earlier this year, DoorDash announced a deal to acquire the British delivery service Deliveroo for $3.86 billion; the new, combined company will have 50 million monthly active users, spread over more than 40 countries. ... read full post

Brain no work. I got nothing for a title and idk what it actually is

So general solutions are welcome, but a friend and I are both craving the old blizzard RTS games. The problem is: fuck that company, and they probably use a rootkit anti-cheat anyway
So is there a general solution for multiplayer in old PC games without company support, and is there a particular solution for, say, starcraft2?

Oggi si apre un nuovo capitolo nella Saga del #Self-Hosting. ⚔️📜🐧 ... read full post

This study evaluates the largest automated speed enforcement program in the United States—2,000 cameras deployed across New York City from 2014 to 2023. Leveraging data on 700,000 collisions and 18 million speeding tickets, the analysis finds that cameras lead to persistent and sustained reductions in crashes. These results demonstrate that automated enforcement can meaningfully improve road safety while avoiding the harms associated with conventional traffic safety approaches. ... read full post

The FamFS file-system being developed by Micron hopes to go upstream for Linux in "early-ish 2026".
For around two years already Micron has been working on FamFS as a new file-system that is special purpose and designed for fabric-attached memory (FAM) needs such as with CXL servers. FamFS over the past year was ported to FUSE for largely operating in user-space but some kernel changes remain.
