apparently Nolan's solution for how to visually depict a "wine-dark sea" is to just make everything in the entire world a shade of gray

Greeks didn't have a color for blue so he's using what he's got

Damn, that's a disappointingly low quality trailer for an IMAX epic. Universal Marketing shit the bed with this one.

I watched it again and I really thought it was just me, that bitrate is abysmal. Even at 1080p there are many shots that look like 480p and artifacted as hell.

It's still crazy to me how video game trailers have almost all been 4k for the past decade, but movie trailers are still mostly stuck at 1080p
Especially considering how much YouTube limits the bit rate of 1080p videos

More of a teaser trailer than anything, but it looks pretty sweet. Gives me "300" vibes.

Looks cool I wish it were more historically accurate though.

There are movies to be made where it makes sense to strive for historical accuracy, bit I'm not sure the Odyssey is one of them. It was always a spectacular tale.

It is a poem about a myth. There is nothing to be accurate about.

Youtube recommended a trailer for "The Grey Man" after watching.
Youtube's got jokes.

Oof.
This could be a real disappointment. Even with my lowered expectations.
