I made a free 3D Maze Game with a shared daily maze and global leaderboards!

Hello everyone,

I’ve been working on a simple 3D maze game for Android. The main idea is a daily maze: everyone plays the same maze each day and competes on a global leaderboard.

It’s designed to be quick and casual. Wordle-style sessions you can finish in a few minutes.

Features:

  • Daily Maze: same maze for everyone, resets daily, global leaderboard
  • Random Mode: no competition, solution button available
  • Duels: real-time 1v1 races on a randomly generated maze

I’d really appreciate feedback, especially on what features or modes would be interesting to add.

The app isn’t public yet because Google requires a testing phase, but testing is open. You just need to join a Google Group and then use the Play Store link below.

Google group: (It may show "you don't have access to this content" but if you login you can request access. It's unfortunately a necessary step for the App links below to work.)

App links:

Web: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.mazegame3d.app

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mazegame3d.app

(The App links above will only be available after joining the group. I'm very sorry, those are google requirements.)

Thanks!

I cannot access any links. No permissions, not found and not available.

Sorry for that, I've clarified in the post.

You need to be signed in to google to join the group. If so then you can click on the app links and install in on the android device.

The account you use to join the group must be the same on the target android device.

You actually need to sign up first before you can see the group I think.

Couldn't be bothered though, I'm not signing up for random stuff if they can't be bothered to release an apk file to begin with.

Unfortunately google has these draconian requirements for personal developer accounts, where they require "at least 12 testers to be opted-in for at least 14 days" during this "Closed Testing" phase, just to unblock production access.

APK sideloads do not count as far as I know.

I understand the motivation (reducing abuse and malware), but it does make things harder for small personal developers. Business accounts don’t have this requirement, so I may look into that.

I'm not sure if installing a random apk file from a stranger on the internet is a better idea. But I'm not signing up either.

It would be too nice of Google to allow developers to provide safe downloads of their app without forcing to login.

Fair point, but it would make things a whole lot easier haha.
