Hype Williams — Untitled [2010, hypnagogic pop]: the peak of melancholic, nostalgic, vaguely dubby and psychedelic feel pioneered by vaporwave and its sister genres
The duo were weird about their identity: Dean Blunt and Inga Copeland considered the band to be a ‘relay’ project passed between various musicians. As a result, their incarnation lasted only until 2012, and since 2016 new albums were made by entirely different people. Moreover, all the old releases are removed from music services, and the Blunt-Copeland records can only be found in fan uploads on YouTube and, of course, on pirate sites.
