Is there a good alternative? I used to use 0x0... But I'm having issues with it. Seems to only connect from a VPN not in my country...which is interesting and maybe related to what you shared.

Uploading to your instance is a good place to start.
Failing that, Catbox seems pretty popular. Though, I'm not sure if having one host be "the" recommended host might end up being a smidge problematic?

Question that will get me a lot of hate here i know it but do you know of any of those have a chrome extension? That's why i still use imgur. Any image I see i can instantly rehost real quick.

What's the point of rehosting to a corporation who geoblock immediately and delete later? You may as well link to the original image.
Better, right click, save image to downloads, click the image button in Lemmy, select the most recently downloaded thing, press OK. Optionally clear download(s). It's no big deal. Now your image is federated. Everyone wins.
Damn. I'll keep this in mind next time. I had no idea.
