They're specifically arresting people who are fuckin' in the bathroom and like... yeah, mixed feelings. It's going to get primarily gay men because it's only really a common practice in gay male culture (straight paired dogging doesn't really exist, especially in the US, and you're going to be hard pressed (hehe) to fit three people in a stall at penn station), so it could easily be homophobic just by nature of choosing to enforce it. But at the same time just get a goddamn airbnb or something don't fuck in an (especially american) bathroom stall, come on.

We all get horny but don't inflict your exhibitionism on nonconsenting people who just want to take a shit.

You're partially wrong. The cops were sent there to deal with complaints about people fucking in the bathroom, but in at least one case that we know of, they arrested a guy for literally just walking into the bathroom while wearing a rainbow wristband. The cops were bragging to each other about how many "fag pervs" they caught. People shouldn't be fucking in such a public place, sure, but I also don't trust these pigs' judgment very much either. Seems at least some of these cops are arresting people before they have any proof of wrongdoing.

I really should have said "how they're choosing to enforce it", that sentiment was not clear at all with the OG phrasing...

Its a really rough situation for me to express opinions on, because while I really dislike people fuckin' in public bathrooms, I do understand that hookups in public spaces come primarily from a place of safety (lots of witnesses in case you get jumped) and they can only really exist with that kind of anonymous/incidental social security. This crackdown absolutely has a net negative effect on gay culture and I am certain that this, along with the basic persecution of queers, was a factor when deciding to enforce this.

And at the same time stop fucking in the goddamn bathrooms you will touch the toilet seat and get amtrak hotdog dick rot.

This is what NYC gets for turning Chelsea into Disneyland and getting rid of a bunch of bathhouses and porno shops with booths. If you don’t want dudes fuckin in public, don’t destroy the more private places they had to fuck.

Yeah, men can be disgusting and it kinda squares when it’s two horny guys so i can see the mixed feelings aspect.

As a bisexual dude like... Yeah, I know first hand how little celanup happens afterwards too. Like I always made an attempt but... eugh. I sucked in a lot of ways in my 20s. The janitor doesn't need that.

Public cruising is skeezy and dangerous, however on the other hand I have to wonder about the motivations behind this crackdown....

as Cataloblepas said, the decreasing amount of private spaces is pushing people who want to lewd but can't lewd at home into a less optimal niche. it's one of the reasons why I'm disappointed in our society and don't think it would be right to raise a child in an environment too full of oppression.
