Give a trans girl a single reason and she’ll delay for a decade.

Random question but how the hell do people choose a name. If it were me, not sure that I'd be able to choose. Too many options. Good ones, even. Choosing just one feels like it'd be hard. Deciding on a final answer

Write down 5 of your major personality descriptors, at least two positive and at least one negative. Go on a writer's forum and ask for help coming up with names for your "character". Do it like three times with different genres of writers. Choose the one you liked the best, or the most common one across all tests. Ez pz. I've had one acquaintance that swears by this method and she pushes it on anyone she knows thinking of transitioning. Good luck.

I spent months at a deadlock with a temp name that was just kind of fine. Asked a few cis people how they felt about their name and got a resounding set of "meh!"

Went with my temporary placeholder name. It doesn't have to be great. It just doesn't have to hurt.

Disclaimer, I am cis.

Friend 1 chose a name, but later switched to a variation of her middle name.

Friend 2 chose a masc name when they were first experimenting with their new identity. Switched between they/he/they over about 6 mo. Finally seems to have settled on a gender neutral name and pronouns.

Friend 3 chose a variation of their given name and then eventually a different name entirely.

Friend 4 I didn't know until after he was already comfortable in his identity. He uses a variation of his given name.

Coworker 1 uses a word that isnt traditionally a name.

All that to say, from what I've seen there's a lot of options, and none of them are wrong. You might find that your initial choice doesn't fit quite right, and it's okay to experiment.

Having someone or something refer to you with it helped me. I legit used Codsworth from fallout 4 to test out names, although that only works for pre programmed names. I'm sure a chatbot can be used in a similar way.

Also, you don't want to have the name of someone you already know. If you do a job that's client-facing you don't want a name similar to someone else who does the same job in the area.

Disclaimer: I am an actual cis man (seriously, not like the character in the op), but I have a 2 month old child and picking a name for them was one of the most difficult things we ever did.

Honestly though choosing a single name is only for legal purposes. Outside of that you can call yourself whatever the heck you like.

We still make up names for ourselves and people call us them.

My mum told me what name she had chosen in case I was born the other sex. Were I trans is use that name

Just choosing a name in games is hard enough.

Where do you get HRT in Czechia? I suppose one can cook it...

https://astrovials.com/ (it's only for E and it took a friend like 2 weeks before it arrived from France). Or I could spend 2 years with a psychologist but nah

  • they'll tell you , but damn.

This used to be me but it genuinely ended up just being a phase in my case. Wouldn't wanna miss it though, I learned a lot about myself and the community.

Having access to the culture allowed me to actually explore the possibility without stigma. Might not be fem afterall but i do enjoy it on the random day here and there. More importantly, realizing i don't have to be masc helped me develop body euphoria, engage with my own emotions, and I'm developing a personal style for the first time in my life!

If that list was a checklist, I would be ticking basically every box :3.

Valmond @lemmy.world - 3mon

Do I dare ask what forcefem fetish is?

6
TotallynotJessica - 3mon

Being forcibly feminized by some outside force. Think being magically changed or medically transitioned against ones will. Many transfem eggs have such kinks because it allows them to fantasize about what they really desire without the responsibility of needing to do it to themselves.

::: spoiler It's a similar motivation behind... many rape kinks. They get to fantasize about having rough, casual sex without needing the responsibility of them voluntarily seeking it out. It gets done to you without you having a say, so you don't need to tackle the fact that you really want the sex. :::

Having the kink does not mean a person actually wants it; in fact that's rarely the case.
