Feng Shui is a practice in which the exact arrangement of your house adjusts the 'energy' of it for better or worse. You can blow a lot of money to get advice on how to best rotate your furniture to bring inner peace or something like that, and extremely minor adjustments can supposedly fuck the whole energy of the place up.
Wuxia is a genre of traditional martial arts adventurism which often involves invocation, implicit or explicit, of spiritual energy to overcome challenges.
As such, the poor lady coming home to an ambush by martial arts masters who have attuned themselves perfectly to the energies of her home are stripped of that advantage by their would-be victim rotating a chair.

To be fair there are some pretty solid principles in Feng Shui for livable spaces too. It's not all magic energy stuff. But any competent architect or living space designer is going to know then as well.

Yeah, I once watched a video that explained that one part of Feng Shui is to create a room layout that does not block the flow of energy, but you just substitute "energy" with "where people walk" and suddenly is makes sense. You identify the most frequented locations of a room, draw walking pathways that lead to and from each location, and make sure that you don't have anything blocking those paths.
Nothing revolutional, but I never thought about room design that way.

The way I think about it (got this concept from somewhere, no idea who or where) is design your living space so that if one of those Chinese dragons were to burst into your home, fly through all the rooms, and leave, nothing would be knocked over or moved.
I have no idea if this actually has anything to do with Feng Shui (it did sound like it was almost racism), but it was a surprisingly useful image.
