This just reaffirmed that I'm 100% a leg person.

I don't know if this is a man or a woman (or even a person), but I'm strangely really into it. I don't know what that says about me.

I mean, I think this looks absolutely ridiculous...

... but I certainly could not bend over like that in 1 foot heels without falling over and breaking my ankle and probably wrist.

Impressive!

Grinch is demonstrating some proper technique here!

So is knee surgery tomorrow or not?

36
kautau @lemmy.world - 1.0yr

I think I’d be worried about absolutely destroying my ankles, but knees are a close second

21
Tar_Alcaran - 1.0yr

Nah, a good pair of tall platforms will really close tightly around the ankle to stabilize.

But yeah, that's to the detriment of your knees, and quite possibly your face.

kautau @lemmy.world - 1.0yr

Got it, thanks for the explanation

Gonna roll an ankle in those things

7
Python - 1.0yr

nah, rolled ankles happen when there's little support around the ankle and when you walk with sidewards momentum. Boots stabilize the ankle really well and at that height, you basically walking on stilts rather than heels (plus the sole is rounded to guide your momentum forwards). It's surprisingly comfortable, as long as you don't stand still for too long.
