Trigger warning[religion] Made a poem that I am thinking of turning into a hymn
All my life I have thought that my colors were sin.
All my life I was told that they were my greatest shame.
And I believed them! With my whole heart!
And I tried to wash, them, off, but they wouldn’t fade.
And so I washed and I washed and I washed but they wouldn’t come off.
And so I sought and I sought and I sought and he opened the gates.
As I learned, he showed me the colors he gave!
And I saw! That I polished them clean! And that’s when I learned! He is a God that makes the worst things great!
And that’s when I learned! That he does all things for our good AND his glory!
And so I don’t hide my colors anymore for they glisten like gemstones!
And I don’t hide my colors anymore for they are a kaleidoscope outshining a rainbow!
And I don’t hide my colors no more for they remind me that the gifts he gives are made wonderful through trial.
Amen.
