Request: something chill I can listen to in the background so I can stop overthinking long enough to get some work done. Podcasts, documentaries, music, I don't care.
Please and thank you

I am going to shamelessly promote myNoise.net, which is a superFuckinCool website with a gazillion different noise machines and a lot of different options. It feels like a relic of the old internet, lots of personality and some very clean, modern design. The guy who runs it makes these soundscapes for a living, just going around recording sounds and turning them into this.
Also there's a mobile app but I dont really use it and cant say much about it other than donating to one doesn't give you full access on the other.

I was already familiar with this site but it's been years since I checked in. The "summer night" bug sound thing really does counteract my tinnitus in a really surprising way.
My tinnitus isn't particularly bad, but it is nice to experience what it's like not to hear it for a bit.
My lock in album has been Transylvanian Hunger by Darkthrone.i went from 60s in math to 90s in the last math class I had to tske in high school cause the teacher let me listen to music while solving work sheets. Its 2 riffs per song and both rule but and hit this really great mid point between hook and atmosphere.
A Clarion Call by Asunder. Kinds rhe same as above but slow deep and heavy and also has a cello
Other black metal or sludge that does.similae are ildjarn, bone awl, nootjgrush and corruption
Hey I love chillhop. Stuff like that is perfect background jam

i like Minecraft Ost. A lot of good Tracks and if it's from a music streaming app you'll get good recommendations, or I hope so. C418 is good.

Bach's Brandenburg Concertos
A list of one item? I'm decidedly uninspired right now. But I do mention more in the final sentence. I always use random play when I have music on the background. I could listen to those concertos for a super long time - let's say many hours a day - day-after-day and not get tired of them.
If you don't already - it's good to use compression. For example - these are my VLC settings...
With compression - I can listen to Beethoven's symphonies and overtures in the background too. It's not chill but it's no longer SYMPHONIC so not overpowering either.

Chopin's Nocturnes.
Beethoven's Piano Sonatas.
Claud Debussy - Clare De Lune as played by Menachem Pressler.
Mozart Piano Sonatas as played by Menachem Pressler.
I recently discovered Hearts of Space and I've been using it as background music for meditation. Huge back catalog and quite varied, likely you might find something suitable there. Also available via other sources if you don't like streaming 🏴☠️
If you like hip-hop beats try Dibia$e and Flying Lotus.
If you like electronic music try Actress (more upbeat), Bjarki (more spacey), and Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works.
For background classical music, try English string miniatures--pleasant orchestral pieces that don't require too much attention. Similarly, could also play Chopin (piano), Christopher Parkening (Spanish guitar), or German Lieder (from Schubert, Liszt, Wolf, Mahler, or Brahms)
The metal category is perhaps the hardest to recommend. Personally, I choose Drudkh, The Ruins of Beverast, Akhlys, and Xasthur to play in the background while working.

Storm corrosion by storm corrosion. Ill keep plugging this album forever its truly the best album ever made.
More serious answer is deus ex human revolution soundtrack its very good but also not distracting Ive used it many times to focus on stuff
Pizza Hotline, either Level Select or Dream Select, or both. Their style has been described as vaporbreaks, so vaporwave sound aesthetics but over DnB breakbeats. So chill enough to stop the intrusive thoughts but not “put you to sleep” chill.

Been listening to the Sickle and The Hammer podcast lately as I do stuff. It's about Soviet history so I find it chill although there is drama in the history of course.

Its got normal stuff like white noise, rain, waves on a beach, and babble (plus restaurant sounds, which can be turned on or off). Theres some wierd ones like the inside of a WW2-era bomber, a brain massager, and like fifty automatic music generators like this one called Shroom with a View. Some of my favorites are behind the paywall ($10 donation for lifetime access, just saying) so I can't share them but theres a haunted house, a construction site, an alchemy lab, and a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. themed one.
