DragonBallZinn [he/him, they/them] - 1w

Struggle for years in college to learn a balls-hard discipline.

Many sleepless nights, ruminating over code. Even the simplest projects move glacially slow.

Finally graduate

Look for jobs

"Hey, wanna make it easier for the porks to access your skills all for free? Come and train your replacement!"

How about they go fuck themselves?

Critical support to tech bros in their attempt to do unlimited genocide on the rate of profit by automating the entire economy.

I get a funny feeling that this company will declare bankruptcy and close their doors by the time you've finished filling out the job application.

Fully automated, highly stratified, capitalism.

I feel like thats almost the opposite of something we all love.

The funniest part is that increased automation drives down the rate of profit in the long term, it's probably the main way capitalism dooms itself.

But AI will likely make coding mistakes that leave their software vulnerable, so hackers get to take the word back from phishers and scammers.

$250K for a junior? There’s no way, right?

I know a guy who got hired at Google right out of Berkeley in 2019. His starting salary was $260k. That was 6 years ago and AI companies are just full of money.

I believe it.

kristina [she/her] - 1w

heard a friend working in this field talk about this and they basically say AI is about chasing the newest trend so often that no one actually makes ANY code that functions or does anything, the managers are goldfish that keep changing the goalposts, forcing all the coders to scrap things. so functionally all the coders have caught on to this and basically bullshit themselves through getting 250k a year from all these hypemen capitalists acting like the coders are geniuses to the shareholders

of course, there are some people making code and doing things in the core companies everyone uses (google gemini, chatgpt, etc) but so many companies are just about fucking around
