She's fallen so low that she's turned into a cigarette ad!

Tbf this was kinda what my ex looked like at rock bottom. She's doing a lot better now though, married an art professor and now they're having a kid...

Yeahhhh that do happen sometimes. My ex left our city and switched brain meds, and they're happier than I've ever seen them and getting married. Feels like I never really got to know them.

Alright so I lived in a weird squat x drug house for a while in my teens/twenties. It was like basically the place where outcasts and the failed of society went to hang out. Copious amounts of drugs, videogames and music.

This is basically what women there looked like, maybe with worse makeup, in the early morning at least. In the afternoon it would be more like hoodies.

So I dunno. The scene looks consistent with what I know. Maybe if you're depicting a NEET shut-in woman you'd go a different direction with hygiene and self-care problems but in the kind of place this looks like (immediately reminds me of that place I lived) it seems accurate?

I suppose the point is that those kinds of places aren't really rock bottom. There's much further you can fall.

Rock bottoms vary a lot because they aren't "the worst that things can possibly get" (because as long as you are alive, things can always get worse), but rather, they are "the threshold that makes you see that you need to change your life).

Honestly, it's less of rock bottoms and more of a long rock staircase that just keeps going.

Netflix doesn’t make cinema / art

19
purpleworm [none/use name] - 2w

They don't make anything, but some of what they fund is pretty good.

Have you seen Frankenstein? It's the first movie of theirs I went "okay Netflix actually can make a movie"

11
CocteauChameleons [none/use name] - 2w

So it took them a decade + to come out with a banger?

3
optissima @lemmy.ml - 2w

Ngl got the vibe they only did better because they shelled out for Del Toro, but it seems so

Well I feel dumb because they dont make anything they just distribute. And they distributed Beasts of No Nation, Mudbound, Okja, Roma, and The Irishman lol

4
Keld [he/him, any] - 2w

Didn't they produce Del Toro's Pinochio too?

There's also only so much you can do to make Anya Taylor Joy look bad, she's just kinda got that energy.

7
PeeOnYou [he/him] - 2w

5
lil_tank [any, he/him] - 2w

Yes, it's a point of the story where she is rock bottom
