Ethnic Minorities and People of Color BiWeekly Thread for the 1/12/2025 and 8/12/2025

Hello nerds kirby-wave hope you all have a good first week of december

Remember no crackers

anti-cracker-aktionqin-shi-huangdi-fireball

la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 2w

nothing gives me more disappointment than seeing a poc believe the racist propaganda about them, "of course we get our student visa revoked so much! we commit crimes there", how can victims feel guilt towards their victmizers?

18
vegeta1 [he/him] - 2w

Even funnier that its hella prevalent in places where machismo is king be it military, sports especially football etc. Shit like that enforces hierarchy so yeah but all that talk and posturing and you looking like a cuck waiting to clean out massas fillings wid your tongue i-cant

14
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2w

Not gonna defend it but will add that among immigrants there is a lot of mixed feelings just depending on what part of let's say Mexico your from. According from my mom people from everywhere but Guerrero are stingy backstabbers. The lumping of immigrants together by whites does something on them old histories and when you start including different countries together only confuses the issue more. Still isn't helped with how right wing Spanish speaking news networks are. That attitude also feels very pick me tbh

11
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 2w

Wmill, I have a question. Does this, lack of a better term, orientalist or regional-chauvinist view apply also to migrants and refugees south of Mexico, for Mexicans? Also, I heard, whether chauvinistically, as a 'joke' or not, I heard Peru's kind of a black sheep in Latin America.

9
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2w

Think it deeps from what I hear from family they got more mixed feelings about people from Mexico since they from Mexico other countries they will spout what they heard but are also easier to sway. They tend to have a favorable outlook to white people here but mostly because of how badly other people of color treat them here no doubt reinforcing this kinda outlook. The self hating immigrant or poc rarely just stick to hating themselves.

9
Frogmanfromlake [none/use name] - 1w

Yes. They fucking hate Guatemalans and never shut up about it. They’re all “We’re indigenous. Aztec pride!” And then in the next breath go “lol ugly ass Guatemalans with their indigenous features.”

And you know what? We do it too with Salvi’s and Hondurans.

8
Darkcommie @lemmygrad.ml - 1w

You know what drives me insane instead of blaming their oppressor they blame themselves normalise white hatred unironically

9
Darkcommie @lemmygrad.ml - 1w

These white worshippers are something else

6
vegeta1 [he/him] - 3day

Lol that racist karen who called Somali couple slurs got 100k in donations. She's was arrested for drugs. She finna blow through that money in no time i-cant

17
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 3day

The somalis made her spend her money on drugs !!

9
vegeta1 [he/him] - 3day

Even goofier is erika kirk made 10 million in donations. Donating millions to a millionaire in this economy i-cant

10
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 3day

As they cheer for more people getting shot, they wonder why we hate them

8
vegeta1 [he/him] - 3day

As material conditions degrade there will be less seperating them from chuds. There's virtually none seperating them on foreign affairs

9
Frogmanfromlake [none/use name] - 2day

That was my first thought when I saw the donations roll in. Conservatives always say not to give money to the homeless because they’ll do exactly this. Turns out they will give money if they see the homeless guy call a poc a slur.

6
vegeta1 [he/him] - 2day

And deranged mfs think her and the Somali folks are in on it to get money out of it. That would be the braziest shit i-cant

6
vegeta1 [he/him] - 8hr

Apparently she has a biracial child. Now several donors regret sending money. And good lord I feel bad for that kid

1
HexaSnoot [none/use name] - 1w

I want white people to be liberated of their own whiteness. I feel bad for them. I think this is partially possible, but not completely possible.

Once a white person got drunk and cried while talking to me about hating being white. They cannot escape the fact that their upbringing is sterilized of culture from far more ancient ancestors. They resent the fact that their later ancestors cut ties with their own ancestral culture, and made their deal about erasing other people. Still, they can try their best to learn about the side opposing imperialism and to respect everyone that their ancestors spun up race conspiracies about. To not perpetuate white supremacy propaganda.

They may not be able to stop being white, but they can get rid of certain aspects of whiteness. Not just in behavior because that would just be acting nice, but at the roots in their belief system. They can stop downpunching in every way they spot it.

16
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 1w

An essay on this matter, though I'd say it was too optimistic

This is why “white genocide” actually does have a meaning beyond “racial integration.” If you take away a white person’s ability to live as the undisputed master of the universe—to take his own experience as normal and privileged, and to presume all others to be debased copies of his own primary existence—then you take away his whiteness. His heart will fall to the ground and he will not be able to lift it up again. After that, nothing will happen: whiteness will be dead.

We should welcome this manifest destiny. White people will not be systematically murdered, after all; non-white people mainly want to live as full human beings in the societies in which they were born, and they don’t need to kill white people to do it. In the 18th century, they did: if enslaved Haitians wanted to live as full human beings in the societies in which they were born, they did have to kill white people to do it; the only thing to regret is that enslavers laid the seeds of their own misfortune.

We do not live in the 18th or 19th or even the 20th century. Donald Trump’s generation can remember America before the civil rights movement, before California and Texas—and so many of our cities—became majority-minority, before their cause became a lost one. In a generation, Donald Trump’s generation will all be dead, and they’ll be replaced by the least white generation in American history. The arc of demographics is long, though: we’ll live the rest of our lives in a world where whiteness is backed in a corner, wounded and angry. We’ll live in a world where it has never been harder for a white person to live as the undisputed master of the universe, to take his own experience as normal and privileged, and to presume all others to be debased copies of his own primary existence, where whiteness is a plurality, still, but not a majority, where white people have dominance but no longer have hegemony. Because hegemony is dominance that doesn’t need violence to maintain itself, this is a dangerous world to live in: post-hegemonic white supremacy is organizing for war, and we will not be free of it for a long time. Because white supremacists see their morbid collectivity vanishing, they are willing to die for it, and to kill.

We can live for it, I hope. My children, if I have them, will speak Spanish, and in their life they will assimilate me into the new world we can all dream of creating together. Whiteness needs to die, because it was only ever about death in the first place. We can dream of something better, and more to the point, we can live it. A term like “white genocide” will not help us do that. But it’s good to look at what they are against, what they fear, what they hate, and remember what it is that we can be unironically for. There is probably a word for it, and I hope we all live long enough to learn what it is.

12
Darkcommie @lemmygrad.ml - 6day

Whoever wrote is wishful thinking

6
gayspacemarxist [comrade/them, she/her] - 3day

Perhaps, but none of us will be free until white supremacy is dead and it's ashes are scattered to the four winds. We gotta pull it off somehow.

2
Darkcommie @lemmygrad.ml - 6day

When your used to privilege equality feels like oppression

5
HexaSnoot [none/use name] - 6day

Can you give an example of that? I think at times I have trouble feeling entitled when I should feel entitled and atm it's hard to imagine having the opposite issue.

1
Darkcommie @lemmygrad.ml - 1w

To me The world is looking more and more perilous white people are desperate frothing at the mouth of killing “savage” immigrants the more I think about the more the answer is revealed to me if we can’t live in peace in harmony together and you want to exterminate us? Ethnically displace us or march us on to death camps in naru, elsalvador or Nigeria then we have no reason to exist in the same area as you if the Haitians can achieve their liberation this way then it gives me hope that we can to I don’t want equality with my oppressor I want to be liberated of him

16
Angel [any] - 1w

I don’t want equality with my oppressor I want to be liberated of him

This seriously has been the vibe

13
Darkcommie @lemmygrad.ml - 1w

I don’t get it

9
Angel [any] - 1w

It means that this is also how I've been feeling as of late.

Even just a few months ago, I was a lot more in the mentality of wanting "equality" with the oppressor, but now I took a turn away from that for sure.

I probably will never get white people to respect me, but I hope to get them to leave me the fuck alone at the very least. They even suck at doing that, though.

9
Darkcommie @lemmygrad.ml - 1w

I just want immigrants to wake up and realize that no matter what they do white people will see them as inferior and will want them dead and for us to mobilize around that fact but we won’t and that pisses me off

8
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 1w

Individualism I think gets absorbed by immigrants. They think if they achieve the lie of the American Dream, they will be exempt from white supremacy. That racism only applies to others and not themselves. It also doesn't help a lot of anti-communists are the ones with the means to immigrate to the US, either financially or through political connections or both.

Sometimes I wonder if I was spoiled by not having to grow up in the home country. But then I see ICE agents terrorize elementary school kids and I revert back to "Yeah no this country sucks we shouldn't have left."

8
Darkcommie @lemmygrad.ml - 1w

It’s not just the US this happens in every western country

3
3rdWorldCommieCat [none/use name] - 1w

Tbh it feels like the more you want them to leave you alone, the more they want to bother you. Like it makes them feel something if a poc doesn't want shit to do with a white.

5
Darkcommie @lemmygrad.ml - 6day

Just shoot them at that point lmao

2
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 1w

“The old world is dying, and the new world struggles to be born; now is the time of monsters.”

8
Angel [any] - 2w

The workplace is majority Black.

Haha, nice.

If I get hired, they said I can start as early as 2 days from then, but it might take longer.

I might see about getting a bus pass. This place is pretty far and a friend gave me some Uber money to get to and from the interview.

Let us hope.

Love this Haitian vegan queen, by the way, but I'mma try to chill.

16
vegeta1 [he/him] - 1w

So now the liberals pivot to mocking Somalis because they didn't rock with kamala and the gaza genocide and trump is mocking them.

16
CommunistCuddlefish [she/her] - 1w

How white people talk about Somalis is a litmus test.  I've spoken to people I thought were ok or not super racist because they were polite to me, who then showed their whole ass by shit-talking Somalis.  And then they had the gall to wonder why I was upset at them for being racist!

::: spoiler this contains a single sentence of what one of those vile devils said to me  "You're not Somali, why does this bother you, they give immigrants a bad name, you should be upset at them too!" :::

If a white person shit-talks Somali immigrants, I know I'm dealing not with a person but with an irredeemable devil and the best response is to just start verbally harassing them so they feel bad about themself.

13
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 1w

"I'm not beating you up? why are you upset about me beating this innocent person up? infact you should thank me!" also what bad name are Somalis giving immigrants? there's not many of them and they're literally just chilling I don't think these people even met a Somali.

9
CommunistCuddlefish [she/her] - 1w

Yeah well the people who talk about this don't understand the concept of having any sort of sympathy or empathy for anyone except for themselves. They also obviously do not consider anyone darker than them people.

I wish a very multidrug-resistant streptococcus infection upon these devils

6
HexaSnoot [none/use name] - 1w

I'm not sure what a litmus test is in this context, but if they only said "they give immigrants a bad name" about any race, they failed a test.

Does the US have anything to do with the gold rush in Somalia? I think I read something about a civil war over gold deposits in Africa happening.

2
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 1w

A litmus test is a test on the reactions of people, when posed with a certain thing or question, in order to determine their moral character, political principles and so forth.

In this context, if they give a positive or indifferent response, to the question of opinions regarding Somali people, they should pass as good, or just ok people

But if they go on a bigoted rant, that's when you should drop them.

Does the US have anything to do with the gold rush in Somalia? I think I read something about a civil war over gold deposits in Africa happening.

That's Sudan... the Arab supremacist Rapid Support Forces, made out of the genocidal Janjaweed, are funding their civil war against the official military government of Burhan with gold, selling them off to UAE.

6
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 1w

show example

4
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 1w

Estimates of the number of Somali immigrants living in the United States vary widely, ranging from 35,760 to 150,000 persons. 2010 American Community Survey data indicates that there are approximately 85,700 people with Somali ancestry in the US.

Even if every Somali voted Kamala she'd still lose.

the reaction to racism by Trump was to agree with him, this picture below is democrats and republicans.

7
vegeta1 [he/him] - 1w

They got more heat for immigrant groups than dems who spent millions to signal boost the far right over and over and it backfired.

7

libs consider jokes about 9/11 to be offensive but not jokes about tianamen square, they either think:

  1. they don't believe it's real so they don't care.
  2. they believe it's real but dgaf because it's not white people.
15
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 7day

imagine being a chinese collaborator's child and believing all the U.S. propaganda then seeing this while watching your cartoons.

12
FunkyStuff [he/him] - 4day

Is this a joke about Tiananmen square? How often do propagandists claim the tank didn't stop?

6
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 4day

they don't claim it didn't stop, but they don't exactly claim that it did stop

5
SnakeEyes [comrade/them] - 1w

I feel like it's impossible to separate white people from imperialism, even white "leftists" are pro NATO and hate "shithole countries" and it's people, they will mention their backwards culture, goverment, history, and yet claim to be not racist.

Even if they denounce capitalism, they are still imperialists and perpetuate it.

15
Angel [any] - 6day

Tired of seeing (usually white) leftists promote antinatalism

14
3rdWorldCommieCat [none/use name] - 6day

God same. Especially when they focus on global south countries.

12
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 3day

They aren't as explicit with their eugenics when they're talking about antinatalism in the Imperial Core. But they sure as shit go full-mask off when talking about the Global South. They'll repeat the neo-nazi "Great Replacement" conspiracy nonsense verbatim, yet it's okay because they're talking about people in Africa and Latin America.

6
Darkcommie @lemmygrad.ml - 2day

I genuinely think the great replacement if it even was true would be a fucking boon for europe

2
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 4day

explain further your viewpoint

5
Angel [any] - 4day

On social media, I have seen this trend of white leftists talking about an "obligation" to reject procreation as a form of resistance against environmental damage and capitalist exploitation. I have seen white leftists endorse antinatalism from the more philosophical angle of "no one can consent to existence." I have seen a smaller amount of, but still some, white leftists who uphold EFILism (the belief that all sentient life on Earth should be extinguished because suffering is inherent to life.)

In case it isn't clear, of course I'm not a diehard "pronatalist" who believes that calls to reproduce should be actively pushed onto people, but the belief that procreation is inherently unethical coming from white people especially rubs me the wrong way. Colonized peoples constantly have their existence denied, both via psychological mechanisms (i.e., having ideas that they are "less worthy" pushed onto them) and literal violence. Procreation is something I can only view as a radical act when it is coupled with a people's desire to prevail even when imperialism and systemic oppression tells them otherwise.

11
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 4day

yeah, saw that hard when looking at the reaction towards the genocide in Gaza, they see children during bombing and famine and decide to stop the children instead of the famine and bombing.

11
Angel [any] - 3day

Made some carrot lox. Thankfully enough, I already had every ingredient on hand.

It has to sit and marinate for at least 24 hours, though, so I won't be having it until tomorrow, but I'll post a pic with the carrot lox, tofu cream cheese, capers, cucumbers, and pickled red onions on a bagel. I also like to add some sriracha for a spicy kick.

14
Angel [any] - 7day

y'all already know this, but just sayin' it because it's where my heart is: landlords are absolute trash

(feels like an insult to trash, even)

Today I met a trump supporting Venezuelan. Dark brown woman who was absolutely convinced she was white despite looking more like a stereotypical Latin American than any of the Latin Americans in the room with her.

13
homhom9000 [she/her] - 3day

I support Venezuela but so far I've yet to meet a Venezuelan in the US who didn't want to resurrect Hitler. I think it says a lot about who emigrates.

9
Frogmanfromlake [none/use name] - 2day

This was in Guatemala too. Haven’t met a Venezuelan immigrant anywhere that wasn’t insufferable.

7
Angel [any] - 3day

Reminding me of this Venezuelan guy I know in this vegan group chat I was in. He lives in Texas, is firmly MAGA, and is a huge Zionist. One time, a comrade of mine told me... ::: spoiler [CW: Racism/Slur Usage] ...that this Venezuelan guy said the n-word in that group chat (before I was even in that GC), and my comrade? He told me he was the ONLY ONE who called him out for it. That's fucked up, honestly. I haven't been in that group chat for a long time, but as far as I'm concerned, that Venezuelan guy isn't around anymore.

One time, I talked about this disturbing use of an anti-Indian slur, and Venezuelan guy had the audacity to act as if there is such a thing as "individualized slur usage," saying something like, "It's okay as long as it's not directed to Indian people as a group and only particular bad Indian people, instead!" I hate that shit so much. :::

9
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 3day

::: spoiler slurs Ah yes the classic case "I don't hate [group of people] I just hate [slur towards them], I see mfs unironically saying it, some said it to me as if I was going to clap to them for thinking I'm not worthy of the slur. :::

9
Darkcommie @lemmygrad.ml - 2day

They should be hung from lampposts as a warning to others it’s the only way to deter them

3
CommunistCuddlefish [she/her] - 1w

check the subreddit-logo for where I live

shitheel conservatives malding about immigrants doing corruption and defrauding, vs. liberals saying "not all [specific group of immigrants]"

Most highly upvoted comments are "we can't have an honest conversation without acknowledging two things: Most ____ are not criminals, and at the same time the people who did this are disproportionately ____"

Nobody acknowledging that "fraud" of this type is pretty damn minor and if you actually care about misuse of public money the first place to look is "how much money did the military-industrial complex spend in the last 2 years to give weapons to isntreal so that fake country could murder over 100,000 Palestinians?" You know what, I support and respect immigrants who want to defraud The Great Satan.

Mods not removing obviously racist comments

It was a mistake to open that, looking at reddit-logo fills me with contempt for my neighbors but it's not like that's a fair or representative sample. I was tempted to use my reddit account to either argue with these removed in the comments or write up an effortpost to post there, but the fact is :stormfront: is :stormfront: and its userbase is so fascist that it will do no good. At most I'll just be baited into telling a bunch of racist assholes to do graphic things to their bodies that violate Reddit's TOS and get permabanned again.

12
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 1w

The feels, honestly deeper-sadness sometimes a little momentary hope blinds you one bit, only to be reminded that not only is Reddit a western anti-cracker-aktion site that doesn't fall any distance from the rotting 4chan tree, but is also browsedly disproportionately by US military bases and modded by the likes of national security ghouls like Jessica Ashooh and Ghi'laine Maxwell.

8
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 1w

Intro to open veins of Latin America pretty beautiful, once I finish it gonna track down an untranslated copy and give it a go. There really is something to poetry and love poems that combine with with revolutionary spirit, hate to be that guy but growing up I kinda thought poetry was for navel gazers but nah was moved to tears by some of these passages

The tree of life knows that, whatever happens, the warm music spinning around it will never stop. However much death may come, however much blood may flow, the music will dance men and women as long as the air breaths them and the land plows and loves them

I can't help but to feel castle doctrine in the US is just linked to settler mentality same with the 2nd amendment, same mfs that will kill any brown person on there property being stumped when their house gets foreclosed on.

Yep... scared, I don't think that's a feel but reality.

I've been hanging around a lot of white queer mostly T folk lately and it's clear when talking with them that their only oppression is that they're queer. I can't put my finger on it but it's like white gays who are only gay by chance and are still republican.

Carrot lox is such a genius idea. How is it

6

Good! I made it two different ways: one without seaweed and one with seaweed. In my opinion, the one without seaweed is significantly better. It's less "loxxy" that way, but I prefer it to just be a "smoky carrot" vibe instead anyway.

colonial apologists keep telling us to stop blaming all of our issues on others, they should follow their advice and stop baming their crimes on us being "incompetent"

11
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 3day

Feels not good deeper-sadness. They wield their blame like a gun, and as far as I'm concerned, they should drown in their own problems, instead of pushing us deeper into the MODERN mud they push us into.

8
Frogmanfromlake [none/use name] - 1w

I’m really curious about what India does differently to avoid having the sexpat problem Latin America does. The women of our regions are both heavily fetishized and yet one of them has way more sexpats than the other.

11
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 1w

The whole concept of sexpats is racism and misogyny, they see LATAM women as being easy attractive women in need of rescue and they see Indians in general as "unattractive".

13
Frogmanfromlake [none/use name] - 1w

Guatemala is famously regarded as one of the “ugliest” Latin American countries and yet you can still find sexpats in Guatemala City chasing teenage girls.

It’s funny you mention that because Bollywood movies are pretty popular here so you’ll see women wearing Indian fashion and men fetishizing Indian women as if they all look like Bollywood stars.

12
thelastaxolotl [he/him] - 1w

I think racism plays a part plus India not having many big coastal international cities that attract sexpats

12
Frogmanfromlake [none/use name] - 1w

That’s a good point. I guess in the case of Pakistan it’s the religious stigma too. In a way I envy them for not having this problem, even if it’s for the worst reasons

White people (white men especially) get so much """"affirmative action"""" that their accusations are nothing but confessions. If universities went solely based on GPAs and SAT scores, they would have more Somalian-American and Ethiopian-Americans than white people. Instead, non-whites have to deal with alumni scholarship failsons, GI Bill war criminals, and general rich people shit who scream and piss themselves because ICE isn't deporting people fast enough.

Who knew minority groups were on to something when they say things like "If they can strip us of our rights/citizenship, then you're next since thats wont fix anything and they'll move down the hierarchy until its two white guys accusing the other of being a Bolshevik."

2
HexaSnoot [none/use name] - 1w

I occasionally notice in the media that some Chinese people call women "sister." Is that a well known enough tendency to the point a Chinese person could call a black person "sister" and have it understood that it's being used differently than black people typically use it? Or in reality might it be taken offensively?

8
homhom9000 [she/her] - 1w

At least in my region, we don't use 'sister'. I don't think this would cause an issue.

5
HexaSnoot [none/use name] - 1w

Are you in the US?

3
homhom9000 [she/her] - 1w

4
DengsCats2 @lemmygrad.ml - 1w

Hello, I hope you are well. From my experience as a SEA, which I assume this experience is also similar to EA people. Anyone that is around your age or older is called sister or brother, if they are much older then use uncle or aunt. If they are much younger use young sister or brother. It is used in almost all settings especially with people who you don't know their names. For example a waiter comes to take your order at a restaurant, you would say "Sister, I would like a cup of tea".

From what I understand the use of the word sister for a black person is more similar to the word comrade, please correct me on this.

I had to listen to an irl redditor talk about how happy he was that Ozempic allowed him to finally lose weight, which he then pivoted to say that this is the future: nobody will ever be unhealthy and will have supermodel bodies because all you’ll need are the right drugs to get the ideal body.

These people live in an alternate reality. People more or less do that with steroids and that comes with a lot of side effects. No doubt these miracle meds would as well. This same guy used to talk shit about me taking Vyvanse for my adhd.

People vastly overestimate how advanced medicine is. Yeah, surgery is better than it was 110 years ago. But it's still dangerous as fuck and people still die.

I got MRSA from my injuries which resulted in something like 4 months on IV antibiotics. In a few years, we may not be able to treat it anymore because bacteria is becoming immune. So anyone who gets the MRSA I had will straight-up die from an infection. Doctors may not even treat it with antibiotics so it doesn't mutate into something worse. They'll just try to make sure you're as comfortable as possible before you rot.
