The User Interface Module connects to the main board over RS485. The "network fault" means the UIM can't communicate with the main board, it doesn't mean that there is no Internet connection. The OOP is misinterpreting the error message.
Yeah I was going to say that it didn't sound like an IoT issue. I do think modern appliances have way too much computer in them because they are prone to failure, and as soon as the OEM stops making the board from your specific machine, you're basically fucked when it comes to repairs.
When my samsung range died I found a guy halfway across the country on some appliance forum that specialized in repairing their boards and it bought me an extra 4 years, but then some other chip failed.

It's called internet of things because you can't call an oven that doesn't work an oven, it#s just a thing.

Honestly seeing someone’s colonizer holiday ruined by their high tech brings warmth to my heart (everything on reddit is fake). If I had an account Id ragebait “who cares? If you can afford an oven like that then you can afford Panda Express. Nobody told you to buy it lolol”

i know internet connected appliances is stupid to begin with, but why is it common for these things to not have an offline mode so it can still work without a connection? i used to have a job making firmware and they would have fired me for some shit like that. tbh i would probably add it in on my own because testing would otherwise be fucking annoying

Because you can set up the oven to require a monthly subscription in order to work. No Internet connection means it can't verify that your subscription is up to date
