Farscape. It was a turn-of-the-millennium sci fi series that was co-produced by the Jim Henson Company, so they have some wild puppeteering on display throughout the show. It's mostly live-action actors, but one character looks like they salvaged him from the set of Labyrinth. The premise is that a group of political prisoners in a distant galaxy have managed to overthrow their captors and commandeer the deep-space prison transport ship on which they were being held. Meanwhile, back on Earth, a test pilot/scientist is a little too successful trying out an orbital slingshot maneuver and accidentally catapults himself through a wormhole, which conveniently exits near the prison transport ship. Antics ensue.
