heyyy comrades :)<3!!!,

Some of you already know me but for those reading this for the first time…my name is Onandrah, a trans refugee living with 9 sisters in Juba after fleeing Uganda when the anti-gay bill passed. We came here trying to survive and build a small life in safety but it’s been incredibly hard.

A few weeks ago, things got really bad. We hadn’t eaten properly for days and our apartment caretaker was threatening to evict us because we were behind on rent. I posted here out of desperation not knowing if anyone would listen but so many kind comrades did. Because of that support today we were finally able to eat a good meal. My sisters smiled when they saw food on the table again…it was such a small thing but it felt like breathing after holding your breath too long.

So far, we’ve raised 431 USD. Our organizer received 173 USD and even added from his own pocket to make up the full amount before sending it to us. We used 100U USD for food and I gave 331 USD to our caretaker to stop the eviction. He’s still asking for 569 USD to finish the rent. He said he’ll come again soon, so we’re just praying for a small miracle before the day ends.

I honestly hate asking for help again but I don’t know where else to turn. Life was already so hard before I found this community and I can’t go back… especially in a place where being trans is dangerous and survival depends on solidarity.

If you’re seeing this for the first time …please, even a small donation or share can keep us safe a bit longer. Your support means more than words can say.
