I think it could be fun to do something with product displacement / bland names. I'm not necessarily saying to use exactly the picture I've attached — this is just the thumbnail to the Hazel video "Ranking Anime Denny's" — but something like this might be nice. The attached picture shows a character that Hisashi Eguchi created for Japanese Denny's commercials, surrounded by various Denny's off-brands.
But you could also do like WcDonald's or Dr Pepper knockoffs or whatever else.

I propose Lady Gaga or Chappel Roan over T Swift. Mostly because Gaga has the heart of a sicko, and Chappel Roan clearly at least cares about trans comrades.

If so fuck I wish I would've suggested "TheTabloids" as a name many moons ago. Lol
If I was cool enough I'd make a tabloid-cover style banner but I'm not. Or maybe I think it's silly enough that I'll hyper fixate and learn image editing to make one
I assumed it was based on the timing alone, and as someone who was vocally in favor of merging them, I think it’s an awesome solution. I really hope the people who were opposed to merging like the approach too.
it fixes the bad taste that “gossip” left me with
it IMO removes the need to try to draw lines between what content belongs where by:
not being limited to “public figure slop”, while not disallowing it - there are plenty of cases a post could go in both or either without being the “wrong” comm
being broader than slop content, it redefines the focus in a way that may still have some overlap, but is distinct and allows content that didn’t really have a dedicated comm elsewhere

Oh yeah, I think splitting them was kinda silly, but I understand why some people were annoyed with streamer/Twitter nobody shit at the time. I think I heard that the next Lemmy version will incorporate post tagging or something so hopefully people can block content based on tags so it's not an issue
