Ethnic Minorities and People of Color Weekly Thread for the 20/10/2025
Hello nerds hope you all have a good next week
Remember no crackers

In western politics, saying free Palestine means that you want to kill all the jews, but having a tattoo of a group that tried to kill all the jews is okay.
20
vegeta1 [he/him] - 2mon
Or doing a nazi salute gets turned into a roman salute.
14
Angel [any] - 2mon
I guess I shouldn't find it shocking that I've encountered multiple white leftists who view "Black nationalist and Marxist" as a contradiction because, in their undialectical minds, all forms of nationalism are akin to some Nazi-style shit.
20
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 2mon
Leftists who skip anti-colonial theory
13
MizuTama [he/him, any] - 2mon
Don't just trust someone that says they support it uncritically though. All fun and games until they say the idea is to just remove non-black people from the black belt.
9
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon
Crakkkers get really upset when you analyze or critique their treats, even when they're "leftists."
17
Frivolous_Beatnik [comrade/them, any] - 2mon
Idk why people got so mad about poc saying Frieren makes them uncomfortable.
14
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon
IDK what their problem is either. I like Frieren. I've watched the whole thing twice and eagerly await season 2. Doesn't change the fact it has problematic elements because it was produced in a capitalist society. It's going to have brainworms the same way Marvel stories or Lord of the Rings or Full House or whatever piece of fiction is going to have capitalist ideology because these are capitalist products.
But no, we have to have a struggle session over cartoons because Whitey doesn't want to turn on their brain and think about the implications or effects their treats might have.
15
CyborgMarx [any, any] - 2mon
I wouldn't say people got mad, some of us other pocs just don't find it uncomfortable and think the critiques are frankly baseless
I personally like watching a bunch of dripped out, genocidal, German aristocrats getting their shit pushed in, it's fun, either way implying only white people like Frieren because of some secret embedded meta-narrative that justifies white supremacy is so far beyond proportion or sense, that yeah some people are gonna push back, not in anger, just in exasperation
I remember a fews weeks ago coming across a string of Frieren TikToks, massive views on each and the most common interpretation in the comments were labeling the Demons as stand-ins for "Americans, Israelis, European colonialists" etc....thousands of upvotes per comment, surprised the hell out of me, but at the same time I immediately clocked what they were seeing
This is why I think leftists tend to underestimate both the competence of certain media and the wider public's skills in correctly interpreting it, people (even normies, poc or white) tend to lock in when media is actually well written
3
Frivolous_Beatnik [comrade/them, any] - 2mon
I think you were being overly uncharitable in assuming most of the opinion was influenced by chud talking points. My opinion is one I have formed over reading many works of fiction - I cast no judgment on people who enjoy the work, and I don't even anticipate that the angle that I find uncomfortable was intended, I said as much many times.
I found it too reminiscent of nearly ubiquitous tropes that, whether or not you agree the author intended it, put me off the work. It literally cannot be argued, it's my reaction that is tainted by the prevailing currents of popular media
I'm glad you enjoy it! I actually find the demon elements of the show a much less compelling concept than other themes it runs with. I get the angle you're talking about, with demons (as with historical representations of vampires etc) representing the unfeeling, murderous and deceptive force that at its core has no care for life or humanity. I actually liked how the theme can be applied in other works, like Sinners, representing the faceless assimilation that will play whatever advantage it has to get its claws into the colonized people
The rhetoric around it in Frieren just hews a little too close to actual excuses for heinous acts that it feels gross to me.
I don't think it necessiated a 100+ comment yknow?
Also 100% some people got mad, I find it ridiculous how I and some other users were being painted with the brush of swallowing a chud narrative, being "tumblr" about it (sounding very much like a chud talking point), etc. It's a matter of personal taste and I don't think it's a baseless critique at all, as fuel for discussion not condemnation
5
MizuTama [he/him, any] - 2mon
People have definitely got angry over that, I saw pretty big outrage a couple years ago about it. I say this as a fan of the story. It was mostly chuds but they definitely had their little tantrum.
4
CyborgMarx [any, any] - 2mon
Chuds are about to throw even more tantrums if those Frieren TikToks keep getting more popular, I've already noticed their agreed upon cope line is "Solo Leveling was better"
4
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2mon
Seen it enough in LGBT spaces , I think they used to chuds angry at them so everyone angry at their special media is labeled as such. White minorites please try to care about more than just yourself.

HexaSnoot [none/use name] - 2mon
What do you mean by "critique their treats?"
Lol That makes me picture Gordon Ramsey acting disgusted on that one British baking competition show.
their pleasures, guilty pleasures or not. Such as, IDK, dubai chocolate or labubu shit

Sometimes it's media with problematic premises...
I feel those with enough money to buy these things just want to enjoy their privilege without thinking about any negatives about it. I rarely have money for things like these, but when rich people share something of those sorts with me I also try not to think about the negatives of those luxuries. It's all about taking a bath in temporary comfort.
But these comforts are running out quick for the majority of people who are on the edge of not affording these things, and we certainly need to study why not all the masses, internationally, can afford them. I can feel the stress of having slipped into that level of money stress.
I usually willingly avoid being confronted by exploitive manufacturing processes because, to me, it's as hard to see as homeless people passed out on bare sidewalk with no blankets. I feel helpless looking at them, and i think, "What's the point of examining this further if I can't help? Just look away."
I'm also disabled and often don't have the spoons to do something even when I feel passionately about a situation. I have to sit on my ass and do nothing just to survive most of the time. Yet I still would like to hear my take on treats critiqued. I'm poor, so leftist critique about treats, even if they're mine, feels like someone cares about me.
11
vegeta1 [he/him] - 2mon
Way shit is going many won't even be able to afford the treats they escape into and a lot of times form their personality around
12
thelastaxolotl [he/him] - 2mon
Stalin used to critique his treats (cowboy movies), crackers think that you personally attacked them if you say anything bad about about their favorite slop
10
SnakeEyes [comrade/them] - 2mon
Do mods on this site always go to bat for the wrong side of a struggle session? First was israhell, then Platner.
Can someone with more time here tell me if this is a common thing, please?
I unironically think we need to raise hell about new red lines at least on board. Whenever I get a moment I plan on drafting some type of post as this is becoming ridiculous.
12
vegeta1 [he/him] - 2mon
Agreed. Good lord trump really has people shook huh. Looks like trump has won more than folks on this site are willing to admit
10
MizuTama [he/him, any] - 2mon
I don't even get the argument from a desperate, selfish, piece of shit viewpoint for most this site? This site has a notable BIPOC userbase and is gay asf. The next "purity" point is half of us!
Either they are not thinking of Non-Americans as human, thus thinking the rules will be different on that basis, are willing to sacrifice them anyway for a transient few moments of unjust peace, before the in-group for "power over purity" shrinks and no longer includes us.
It's not just unprincipled and immoral, it's out right suicidal.
Though I guess some hope to blend in enough they can survive.
12
vegeta1 [he/him] - 2mon
And now he admits he would have joined in Vietnam war and would have America build up navy to counter China. What next he agreed with the intern camps for Japanese in America?
8
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon
Next he's probably going to say we should have allied with the Axis Powers and put Chinese-Americans in concentration camps because Japan did nothing wrong.

Send us your brightest, your smartest, your most intelligent,
Yearning to breathe free and submit to our authority,
Watch us trick them into wiping rich people's asses,
While we convince them it's a land of opportunity.
Honestly GTA 4 still my favorite of the series, the statue watching everyone trapped in with the grotesque heart chained inside is very Eldritch horror or capitalist horror. Playing as an immigrant from Yugoslavia gives it some extra touches now that I know what went on there.
16
hello_hello [comrade/them] - 2mon
Really sad since now GTA 6 looks like some bonney and Clyde romance story.
GTA has always sold itself on being countercultural so maybe the new game will have some bangers (but tbh I think they'll go the surreal/absurdist route).
5
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2mon
I haven't kept up with news about VI tbh I do hold out some hope though despite the sensational vibes through out the years rockstar has had pretty solid writing. That long stretch of GTA online does make me worry if the writers still around

I swear to God that so many Black people in the US have a colonized mentality when it comes to our hair.
16
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 2mon
a lot of people here have this too, I see the most beautiful looking human I have ever seen but people will say their hair is messy because it doesn't look straight.
13
Ath3ro [none/use name] - 2mon
I’m reading this book called “Eating While Black: Food Shaming and Race” that touches on this but from the angle of food. White people sit up there and shame the food and other cultural aspects of someone’s life and unfortunately that trickles down into the minds of poc who want to now be seen as “healthy”, “clean”, and/or otherwise acceptable in the eyes of white people.
11
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2mon
I feel this, I grew my hair out and while I do struggle with how curly it is I never iron it. I know my sister would bleach her hair blondish it's definitely a thing with latinas of trying to appear white passing.
11
Rojo27 [he/him] - 2mon
Yeah. Depending on where you are people refer to natural hair as "pelo malo", which is bad hair. Which is ridiculous because natural hair is beautiful. I'm kind of jealous of my brother because he can grow out an afro if he really wanted too. I have much looser curls so it doesn't look quite right when I try it
11
weeb_lenin [none/use name] - 2mon
I swear, a lot of the time it's just internalized racism-settlerism. With enough moisture, my curls have strong definition. My parents hate my hair, but everyone else likes it.

Third world person having to steal money online from people to afford rent and food: irredemable scum of the earth. Doxx them and make content of them and be racist to them.
NATO soldier using an old man's prosthetic leg as a beer cup: just youth making mistakes while trying to pay for their college degree. elect them as president please.
there's no arguments or hypocrisy with crakkkers, just racism.
15
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon
A lot of them are press-ganged into it, too. They're there against their will while the people in charge threaten them and their families if they don't meet quotas. Like no shit they're going to try and steal from the easiest targets they can find if it means they can survive another day.
9
Frogmanfromlake [none/use name] - 2mon
What is with NATO leftists simping for this Platner guy? I can understand with Zohran because his politics are noticeably to the left of most Dems and seems good on Palestine.
But Platner just seems like a standard Berniecrat with nothing really standing out. Yet I see these people defending him. The same people who mocked Dems for supporting Azov Ukrainians.
15
AssortedBiscuits [they/them] - 2mon
I think it just boils down to him being a white vet and the pathological urge for NATO leftists to redeem members of the US military. They always want a vet redemption story. I remember that dude from Virginia (Carter or something) being the same deal. He was a vet with vaguely progressive politics, so the usual suspects latch onto him.
12
thelastaxolotl [he/him] - 2mon
Ok so some months ago (i think 3-4) he started his campaign and said he was a progressive candidate for senador etc. he also started to campaign online on twitter and some dsa members really liked him and though he could be a DSA senador in the future (keep in mind he isnt a DSA member or has been supported by them), so they started to support him and kinda built a parasocial relationship with him.
Then Hasan started to support him (like 2 months ago) and talk about him which grew his support more, this all before the tattoo and him being a blackwater member came out. So basically he became an internet micro celebrity and got a fanbase who when the bad news started coming out decided to keep defending him
12
vegeta1 [he/him] - 2mon
Lol I remember my first post regarding him was how the dems were running interference on him even though hes a damn blackwater merc and they should love him which is funny. Then I find there is infighting for him.... A blackwater merc. Now he's out here glorifying wars of the past and not even ww2 ones but imperialist ones. Mandem were shouting from the roof purity test but it seems now they're going dumpster diving.

CommunistCuddlefish [she/her] - 2mon
NATO
leftist
Pick one.
That's basically the answer, imo. NATO "leftists" revealing that they do not have a solid grasp on principles or geopolitics. They'll accidentally hit upon leftist positions using flawed methodology, but under the hood they're still colonialist imperialist western chauvinists, which is an inherently fascist position.
2
CommunistCuddlefish [she/her] - 2mon
Therapist asked me how I organize my life and it's really messing me up how almost every major personal tragedy of my life is rooted in how evil, racist, classist, sexist, and fascist AmeriKKKa is, and the one exception I can think of is still heavily tied to it. I feel almost insane typing that out (and I mean that in a literal sense, not an ableist sense). I second-guess myself -- how can that be true? Isn't that too reductive? Doesn't that eschew personal responsibility? Isn't that an exaggeration? It's not like my family got bombed by America. I can already imagine white friends — well, former friends — downplaying it if I said this. I've said things like this before and it seemed they didn't understand, but to make it make sense I'd have to outline a ton of horrible things that happened. I've even tried to explain this to my parents, citing things they told me in childhood, and they quibble too.
But I see it. There is a chain of events which follow one from the other and lead to disaster after disaster. It makes me feel like there's no point trying to rebuild my life again, because there is no escaping fascism. I've already rebuilt twice and both times, everything fell apart because I built a life with someone else who was also broken from fascism. What's the point of trying again? I'm drowning in grief.
None of this should have happened. People's lives shouldn't have to be this way. We live lives of misery and pain due to problems that should be avoidable if we weren't subject to fascism. At this point I'm just waiting for something to put me out of my misery.
13
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2mon
living in the imperial core we're still victims to colonial forces. The second guessing part is so relatable and while I do get the personal responsibility part of therapy it can ignore the material reality for a lot of people. Couple years ago I did feel hopeless and nearly drank myself to death, I got completely sober with the love and support by those around me. I think what keeps me going is wanting to look out for everyone around me, I don't think I could let my lovee ones face the coming violence alone.
We live in a sick society so I'm glad to label myself a failure. I've been trying to come up with my own definition of success and while at first it was easy rejecting the patriarchal and capitalist ideals having to define my own was difficult but and foremost was to live. Taking care of yourself is a form of rebellion. When your feeling better try reading some Fanon it's helped me reframe some things
9
CommunistCuddlefish [she/her] - 2mon
Sorry comrade, I'm glad you made it through and stopped drinking.
I don't think I judge myself on the sick standards society defines, but I'm sad that all the people I love the most have been brutalized and so severely severely damaged by fascism that they're broken. Can't have healthy relationships with each other. Often antagonistic because they won't face the real problem, fascism, and take it out on me instead. That's where the sense of futility comes from
6
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2mon
I see sadly the whole victims of fascism tend to lash out at each other, it may not mean much but being able to say fuck this country is a good step. I know my sibling has had the brunt of misdirected anger faced towards them in my family so I do my best to be gentle with them. I hope some gentle words come your way and kinder attitudes, you don't deserve to be a punching bag.
5
CommunistCuddlefish [she/her] - 2mon
Thank you <3. I wish you good luck and kindness as well.
3
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon
There is a chain of events which follow one from the other and lead to disaster after disaster.
I get this, too. Colonialism and crimes against humanity left my grandparents fucked up. They in turn had fucked up kids because their dad was an alcoholic and their mother had problems with commitment/attachment/guilt/shame/whatever else. Then one of those fucked up kids had me and created another broken person because he didn't know how (or didn't want) to be a parent due to having traumatized parents himself.
So here I am, stuck living with depression and anxiety (along with a possible personality disorder), with permanent injuries and disabilities from a botched suicide attempt. It sometimes feels like my life was over before it even started all because some fascists started a war they couldn't win but went unpunished for anyway. On top of that, I'm stuck living in a racist, settlers-colonialist, reactionary state surrounded by crackers oblivious to the harm their words and actions have on others around them.
When our day comes, there will be no quarter for the fascists or the liberals who protect them. The amount of damage they've caused on this world is unforgivable. They will experience only a fraction of the trauma inflicted on minorities and the proletariat, and those few moments will be enough to make them terrified.

Angel [any] - 2mon
I asked the one family member whom I keep in contact with, an uncle, if he has any recommendations for jobs or uf he knows someone who might be able to recommend something to me. He said he will check! We talked a little more in detail about what I'm specifically looking for (though I'm pretty wide-open. Just have preferences, of course.)
13
Angel [any] - 2mon
Unfortunately, didn't get that job... but honestly, not shocked. It seems like a very demanding place to work anyway. They required me to have 98% accuracy on that assessment, but they use really shitty audio and require strict verbatim. I'm not the only who has noted this problem. I'm thuggin' still, though.
13
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon
What the fuck? They had you go through all those assessments and then at the last minute decided not to hire you? That almost sounds like the "assessments" were actual work they needed done but they did the ol' "get free labor by making it part of job interviews" scam.

My dad loves me too in case anyone is wondering but to get across to him that I'm anything but straight would involve me flat out getting a boyfriend and tell him this is my boyfriend and my boyfriend saying he's my boyfriend to him

Omg this reminded me of my dad meeting my sister's first girlfriend and then going "wow her new boyfriend is pretty affeminate".
He's gotten better over the years but goddamn is that homophobia engrained in the older Latin American generations.

How do you deal with people of your own race calling you a "fake *insert your race?" I got called it and it was very hurtful and alienating. I wanted to know more about holidays I already celebrated, and about other holidays I might not already know of and wanted to start celebrating. It made me feel shame even though having been taught a shallower version of cultural heritage is not a thing to be ashamed about.
Once someone corrected a person calling me a fake *insert my race, and said "No, not fake. American-born *insert my race."
13
Angel [any] - 2mon
I don't necessarily get this kind of shit on the basis of being born in the US, but I've gotten people telling me that I'm not "really Black" for these two reasons:
When it comes to the "mixed people can't be Black" kind of take, I push back really hard.
My first ever girlfriend, mixed between Black and white, always received that anti-mixed rhetoric more than I did (because I am far more unambiguously Black than her), and as someone who's extremely proud to be Black, seeing how distressed it made her always gave me even more drive to push against anti-mixed rhetoric among Black people.
As Audre Lorde put it, you cannot dismantle the master's house with the master's tools. The moment these Black people start to invert the one-drop rule as a way to exclude our mixed siblings, they are using the white man's logic. The white man is the one who falsely affirms that race is a genetic reality that places you in a firm, essentialized category. Someone who actually has a proper, material understanding of how race functions in society knows that it is, first and foremost, socially constructed.
These anti-mixed Black people think they are revolutionaries, but they are the opposite. They are reactionaries who will hold back Black liberation, and for them to reject mixed people means they are quite literally putting the reification of an arbitrary white-invented system of categorization over the safety and inclusion of Black people. That is undeniably anti-Black.
When it comes to the thing about being "stereotypically Black," I have to remind people that this is a form of respectability politics. The moment you start denying the diversity of Black people and acting like we can only be valid as Black people if we conform to stereotypes is, once again, cracker logic. White people and closed-minded Black people are both the ones who tell me things like, "No way you're Black and you listen to metal!" and "No way you're Black and you're vegan!"
I feel like people are so caught up in their closed-minded ways of thinking that they forget how lived experience usually plays out. A majority of these biracial people that they shame for "not really being Black" will have the lived experience of a Black person, and denying that is utterly harmful.
14
HexaSnoot [none/use name] - 2mon
Being black in America is a special case in that if you're completely white passing and have no contact with culture of your own race(es) you're still entitled to reconnect and bathe in your race's culture(s). I argue that one drop of blackness means you're intertwined by blood with American black history. Generational trauma changes you on a genetic and behavioral level, and there's no escaping the generational effects of what your ancestors did to survive. Even when people are adopted, many of the marks of ancestral trauma are there. Ancestors being kidnapped and taken to another country, and being unallowed to practice their culture, means one drop in their descendants is enough to seek out roots and immerse yourself in culture you didn't grow up with. This is very disappointing to hear that some black people are disowning their own and not acknowledging these things.

Sometimes I feel like white people treat POC historical struggles and crimes committed against them with such dark heartedness and inhumanity, like one time I told a westerner that the Germans gassed my great grandfather, and he fucking started talking about how I shouldn't blame the past on the failures of my African state???? I didn't even bring up anything besides that he got gassed for fuck's sake

::: spoiler Islamophobia/Anti-Arab Sentiment
Y'know how you see new atheists hide behind an alleged hatred of religion in general to obscure the terribly insidious truth that they just hate brown people?
Well, what's fascinating is that the phrase "All Religions Are Bad," as an acronym, is ARAB. I really find that to be some interesting unintentional imagery to highlight the tendency for new atheists to deceptively act like they are not racist.
I know this is a little silly of me to note, but... was a thought last night.
:::
10
vegeta1 [he/him] - 2mon
Absolutely. Being in atheist groups the amount of em that spewed far right shit about brown people was insane. Somehow islam was taking over Europe. Decade later and oop no the fuck they didn't. All this while advocating nuking the middle east casually. Like a fuckton of times these whites calling to glass these countries. Just seeing the ex muslim pick me types cheer on the glassing like their families don't live there felt like bizarro world
And these were said by absolutely ratchet mfs. Not a week went by without sexual harrassment in the DMs or some other drama. Vast majority of those people I would not want to meet or live with. Like just being civil or polite society is an anathema (I mean this in the biblical sense lol)

Yeah. I'm atheist but I just was heavily disappointed by how racist and fascist /r/atheism in the early 2010s swung. I was kinda worried when someone made that new /c/atheism comm here, but so far it's been fine afaik.

The news in Venezuela has made me on edge for months now because whatever happens there will inevitably have consequences here. Lately I’ve just been frustrated with the region as a whole and its annoying worship of the EU and US. Yes there is an increasing sense of unease towards the US with more young people favoring Canada and the EU, but that’s the problem. They’re still admiring the same group of countries putting us in this mess in the first place. Don’t even get me started on immigrants who brag about how they’ll get a white spouse and return with the ugliest motherfuckers they could find.
I can only imagine the number of people who will “both sides” Venezuela and already are. I personally believe the future is in Africa. We’re settler colonial countries at the end of the day and God damn does it show.

My feed is mostly dating advice I'll never use and that's my fault, got recommended a cia Honeypot vid "every accusation a confess" and so on. The way the dude lives and breathes whiteness and the dominant hedgenomy was wild. Yeah no shit I can see why women don't approach you bro, they really do pick the most plain looking milquetoast white guys to infiltrate other countries. Also not surprising a lot of gender essentialism he spouts, I know it's all in the context of trying to grow his brand but it is telling, anyway profile these fuckers flip to get an idea who's probably an CIA asset overseas.

Ethnic Minorities and People of Color Weekly Thread for the 20/10/2025
Hello nerds
hope you all have a good next week
Remember no crackers
In western politics, saying free Palestine means that you want to kill all the jews, but having a tattoo of a group that tried to kill all the jews is okay.
Or doing a nazi salute gets turned into a roman salute.
I guess I shouldn't find it shocking that I've encountered multiple white leftists who view "Black nationalist and Marxist" as a contradiction because, in their undialectical minds, all forms of nationalism are akin to some Nazi-style shit.
Leftists who skip anti-colonial theory
Don't just trust someone that says they support it uncritically though. All fun and games until they say the idea is to just remove non-black people from the black belt.
Crakkkers get really upset when you analyze or critique their treats, even when they're "leftists."
Idk why people got so mad about poc saying Frieren makes them uncomfortable.
I don't think it necessiated a 100+ comment
yknow?
Also 100% some people got mad, I find it ridiculous how I and some other users were being painted with the brush of swallowing a chud narrative, being "tumblr" about it (sounding very much like a chud talking point), etc. It's a matter of personal taste and I don't think it's a baseless critique at all, as fuel for discussion not condemnation
People have definitely got angry over that, I saw pretty big outrage a couple years ago about it. I say this as a fan of the story. It was mostly chuds but they definitely had their little tantrum.
Chuds are about to throw even more tantrums if those Frieren TikToks keep getting more popular, I've already noticed their agreed upon cope line is "Solo Leveling was better"
Seen it enough in LGBT spaces , I think they used to chuds angry at them so everyone angry at their special media is labeled as such. White minorites please try to care about more than just yourself.
Way shit is going many won't even be able to afford the treats they escape into and a lot of times form their personality around
Stalin used to critique his treats (cowboy movies), crackers think that you personally attacked them if you say anything bad about about their favorite slop
Do mods on this site always go to bat for the wrong side of a struggle session? First was israhell, then Platner.
Can someone with more time here tell me if this is a common thing, please?
yeah liberals are usually wrong
Wait for real? Over platner?
He's got a decent support base on this site: https://hexbear.net/comment/6610364
I unironically think we need to raise hell about new red lines at least on board. Whenever I get a moment I plan on drafting some type of post as this is becoming ridiculous.
Agreed. Good lord trump really has people shook huh. Looks like trump has won more than folks on this site are willing to admit
And now he admits he would have joined in Vietnam war and would have America build up navy to counter China. What next he agreed with the intern camps for Japanese in America?
Next he's probably going to say we should have allied with the Axis Powers and put Chinese-Americans in concentration camps because Japan did nothing wrong.
I'm sorry, what? I saw the Planter post early yesterday, but was there really a struggle sesh over a fucking Nazi? Jfc...
75/25 split, being mod generous, in my experience.
Honestly GTA 4 still my favorite of the series, the
statue watching everyone trapped in
with the grotesque heart chained inside is very Eldritch horror or capitalist horror. Playing as an immigrant from Yugoslavia gives it some extra touches now that I know what went on there.
Really sad since now GTA 6 looks like some bonney and Clyde romance story.
GTA has always sold itself on being countercultural so maybe the new game will have some bangers (but tbh I think they'll go the surreal/absurdist route).
I haven't kept up with news about VI tbh I do hold out some hope though despite the sensational vibes through out the years rockstar has had pretty solid writing. That long stretch of GTA online does make me worry if the writers still around
I swear to God that so many Black people in the US have a colonized mentality when it comes to our hair.
a lot of people here have this too, I see the most beautiful looking human I have ever seen but people will say their hair is messy because it doesn't look straight.
I feel this, I grew my hair out and while I do struggle with how curly it is I never iron it. I know my sister would bleach her hair blondish it's definitely a thing with latinas of trying to appear white passing.
Yeah. Depending on where you are people refer to natural hair as "pelo malo", which is bad hair. Which is ridiculous because natural hair is beautiful. I'm kind of jealous of my brother because he can grow out an afro if he really wanted too. I have much looser curls so it doesn't look quite right when I try it
I swear, a lot of the time it's just internalized racism-settlerism. With enough moisture, my curls have strong definition. My parents hate my hair, but everyone else likes it.
I thought of growing one when I was younger but I do like my pony tail, eventually will figure out a braid
A lot of them are press-ganged into it, too. They're there against their will while the people in charge threaten them and their families if they don't meet quotas. Like no shit they're going to try and steal from the easiest targets they can find if it means they can survive another day.
So basically he became an internet micro celebrity and got a fanbase who when the bad news started coming out decided to keep defending him
Lol I remember my first post regarding him was how the dems were running interference on him even though hes a damn blackwater merc and they should love him which is funny. Then I find there is infighting for him.... A blackwater merc. Now he's out here glorifying wars of the past and not even ww2 ones but imperialist ones. Mandem were shouting from the roof purity test but it seems now they're going dumpster diving.
That's where the sense of futility comes from
I see sadly the whole victims of fascism tend to lash out at each other, it may not mean much but being able to say fuck this country is a good step. I know my sibling has had the brunt of misdirected anger faced towards them in my family so I do my best to be gentle with them. I hope some gentle words come your way and kinder attitudes, you don't deserve to be a punching bag.
Thank you <3. I wish you good luck and kindness as well.
What the fuck? They had you go through all those assessments and then at the last minute decided not to hire you? That almost sounds like the "assessments" were actual work they needed done but they did the ol' "get free labor by making it part of job interviews" scam.
I one time translated a whole book and got no updates for the job
That's some bullsheit
Told my mom I often get shocked expressions because I'm queer looking from older Latine people and she hit me with the weirdest reading, "people who are gay or homo you get these people who think they can be sugar babies to them and get all their money same can happen with lesbians" I love my mom for being so accepting but it's still an interesting take when it's just me being transgressive
Thing is I don't know how much of it is homophobia vs him just being really really dense.
I see why some don't leave this comm's threads, I feel like every I leave the news mega (and sometimes in it), I'm willfully coating myself in sewage to see if I can withstand the stench.
If it wasn't for irl experience I'd have ended up Sakai's strongest soldier at this rate.

Also mods: posts bait to the front page, antagonizing users.
I'm fighting the urge to respond. Why does it keep happening and why is the topic only on antisemitism? Jewish people aren't being genocided, I'm bored of the topic already.
because the admins have liberal zionist brainworms
I'm gonna save myself the headache as well.
Fuck AI.....
I've seen racist AI shit on Youtube of some crying white woman in a hospital with two babies that don't even look human while a Black man is beside her smiling at the monster babies (the monster babies are supposed to be Black).
The dogwhistle for these videos is "Average nissan altima driver"
I think in English I talk it mostly but the second I get inconvenienced/angry/scared the spanish comes spilling out hard and fast. It's automatic and I can't help it idk I guess there's layers to my speech that I'm not always aware of
I was so mad when talking to a person once that I skipped 3 languages to yell at him
Based as hell, I usually keep to inanimate objects or bugs
::: spoiler sensetive subject Sometimes I feel like white people treat POC historical struggles and crimes committed against them with such dark heartedness and inhumanity, like one time I told a westerner that the Germans gassed my great grandfather, and he fucking started talking about how I shouldn't blame the past on the failures of my African state???? I didn't even bring up anything besides that he got gassed for fuck's sake :::
::: spoiler spoiler It really seems like they view any non-white victims as being just statistics, numbers, and data. :::
They 100% do. It's because that's the way Western media has portrayed them for... Probably ever?
Bleach demons, don't get so defensive when POC describe the suffering they've faced at the hands of your governments challenge: IMPOSSIBLE
Because whites don't see non-white people as real human being despite what they say. (example being that nazi blackwater mercenary/crayon-eater (US marine) running for senate and the progressives being all hyped up about him.)
::: spoiler Islamophobia/Anti-Arab Sentiment Y'know how you see new atheists hide behind an alleged hatred of religion in general to obscure the terribly insidious truth that they just hate brown people?
Well, what's fascinating is that the phrase "All Religions Are Bad," as an acronym, is ARAB. I really find that to be some interesting unintentional imagery to highlight the tendency for new atheists to deceptively act like they are not racist.
I know this is a little silly of me to note, but... was a thought last night. :::
Do not get me started
