Hello nerds kirby-wave hope you all have a good next week

Remember no crackers

Frogmanfromlake [none/use name] - 2mon

Fuck NATO leftists and fuck gusasnos calling Maduro a dictator and supporting the Venezuelan bombing.

22
CommunistCuddlefish [she/her] - 2mon

Seriously. When someone's "leftism" leads to positions that support the US's violent foreign policy actions (murder), they should really pause and examine what is going on.

Looking at NATO "leftists". Looking at " anti-auhoritarians" who celebrate attacks on other nations' sovereignty because their governments are "autocratic"

13
vegeta1 [he/him] - 2mon

Same ones mocking Trump's peace prize venture will go along with it as usual.

12
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon

What's more is NATO doesn't have a leg to stand on after supporting Isreal and Ukrainian nazis for years. Some of these """"leftists"""" will recognize what the US is doing is wrong, recognize the US lied about Iraq, Vietnam, and a dozen other places, but this time....THIS TIME....the US totally isn't lying about Venezuela or supporting the local contras/ISIS/Kuomintang/whatever right wing terror group.

11
WildWeezing420 [he/him] - 2mon

Look I know they lied about Korea, but Vietnam really is a threat to us. We have to go to war.

Look I know they lied about Vietnam, but Cuba really is a threat to us. We have to go to war.

Look I know they lied about Cuba, but Nicaragua really is a threat to us. We have to go to war.

Look I know they lied about Nicaragua, but Iraq really is a threat to us. We have to go to war.

Look I know they lied about Iraq, but Afghanistan really is a threat to us. We have to go to war.

Look I know they lied about Afghanistan, but Iraq really is a threat to us (again). We have to go to war (again).

Look I know they lied about Iraq (again), but Libya really is a threat to us. We have to go to war.

Look I know they lied about Libya, but Syria really is a threat to us. We have to go to war.

Look I know they lied about Syria, but Russia really is a threat to us. We have to go to war.

Look I know they lied about Russia, but Hamas really is a threat to us. We have to go to war.

Look I know they lied about Hamas, but Venezuela really is a threat to us. We have to go to war. <--- You are here

5
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 2mon

wait there was a bombing - wtf

4
Frogmanfromlake [none/use name] - 2mon

No but the us is heavily considering it. They have bombed Venezuelan fishermen in the Caribbean Sea.

7
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 2mon

remember that to them millions of you is worth less than a dog, don't expect mercy don't expect care.

16
MizuTama [he/him, any] - 2mon

Engaging with white leftists is always a coin flip of whether or not it makes me think maybe the third world maoist have a point because holy fuck only 1/10 don't make me think they all want to watch us die but take a photo op in the process to assauge the guilt.

16
WildWeezing420 [he/him] - 2mon

they will have a struggle session over our massacres where the ones on the correct side of it get banned for being uncivil

14
vegeta1 [he/him] - 2mon

Mandem started to use the term purity test just like libs do. i-cant

7
Frogmanfromlake [none/use name] - 2mon

Whites only care about poc dying when bad country does it or bad politician. Any defense or pushback is “whataboutism”, something they’re quick to use themselves when they’re on the receiving end of criticism.

16
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 2mon

honestly, crackers can fuck off.

11
WHATABOUTISM_DETECTOR [it/its] - 2mon

soypoint-1 whataboutism soypoint-2

godlessworm [comrade/them] - 2mon

[cw: crackers trying to get away with using slurs] i wonder if this happened in other people's high schools back in like 2009. there was one of those white kids who thought he was eminem and he was talking to his other eminem-american friend, and he was explaining how he figured out a way to "sound like they're saying the n word without actually saying it". "say 'nyuh', that way it sound kinda like it, but you aint actually saying it". later in class he dropped it a little bit louder then started looking around to see if any if the black kids heard it and were about to beat his ass. but yeah i'm just curious if those type of white dudes at anyone else's high school tried that. it's one of those things that seems like it would be really specific but turns out to be pretty universal

16
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 2mon

"sound like they're saying the n word without actually saying it".

They should call themselves :cracker: , if they're not being disingenuous

5
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon

We had entire packs of Eminem-Americans (lmao new mayo classification just dropped) at my high school circa the early-mid 2000s. They were annoying as fuck. I think I mentioned them a few threads back months ago. As far as I know, none of them would say the n-word. They would use the gay f-word and various slurs for Latine people, though (but that was typical of all the white kids at my school).

4
HexaSnoot [none/use name] - 2mon

Oh yeah i definitely relate. Some kid sang it with the hard r as a joke.

Anyways, how could I tell this one other white guy why starting to say the N word as an adult isn't okay?

I found this video essay involving modern blackfacing and minstrel shows called The Evolution of the Culture Vulture interesting. Some white guy i know started saying the n word ending with an "a" as a joke when almost 30 years old. I only see him once every several years and idk if I should send him this video. We dont talk in between those years. He's mostly associated with my boyfriend, and they can go over a year without talking. If I end up doing that I would say "Even though I think its not okay you're specifically doing an exact thing in this video, I still appreciate your intent and your great quality of trying to create good vibes however you can. This does not mean at all that I'd disown you as a friend. Its just to say take a step back and examine what youre doing when you..." Idk i can't think of how to discuss this with him so here I am.

He's a busy guy, he may never watch the video. I have social anxiety too so I may never send anything. I just want to know how to carry out a convo about this and still want advice anyways. That shit really bothered me and I couldn't place why until seeing the video.

Sone context: I'm not black and don't live in the black experience.

1
Angel [any] - 2mon

I start the onboarding process for this transcription shit tomorrow... oh, gee, I hope this goes well. I'mma put in 1000%.

16
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon

Ima start calling Trump "Liberal Jesus." Genocide in Palestine? A plot orchestrated by Trump in 2016 to make Biden look bad in 2020. Ukrainian-Russian War? Also orchestrated by Trump with Putin and totally not the result of the Obama administration in 2014.

Trump is going to be dead soon, for liberals will be the ones who kill him by placing all their sins on his shoulders.

15
vegeta1 [he/him] - 2mon

Kinda like hitler was imperialist jesus to whitewash all the crimes of that time that were still ongoing

11
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon

Ya

7
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 2mon

"everyone is so sensetive these days" my guy there's a holocaust going right now and a bunch of racist police squads arresting non-whites

15
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon

everyone is so sensitive these days

"Yeah! You can't even say fuck the police, all cops are bastards, fuck the military, fuck zionism, all white people benefit from white supremacy, Stalin did nothing wrong, Ho Chi Minh did nothing wrong, fuck Joe Biden, fuck Donald Trump, death to America, Tiocfaidh ár lá!"

12
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 2mon

everyone is so sensitive these days

I remember once someone said something like that, and I decided to quote the would-be war criminal pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, when he was confused why God would allow the existence of a fruit that would make Adam and Eve's original sin

Needless to say

Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon

LMAO how the fuck did his career not end right then and there? I'm pretty sure I heard "puta" in there too?

3
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 2mon

yep - I think he was trying to call him "putang ina" or something

2
vegeta1 [he/him] - 2mon

They really take pride in being sociopathic ghouls. Even joe rogan saying ice is fucked up RN

7
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2mon

Liberals using the "well actually immigrants work far harder and are more skilled" as a take that to maga seem to miss the point that immigrants do so out of desperation and lack of options. Not to mention equating not complaining to anything but how often ICE and the like is threatening to anyone wanting to voice dangers and or work place harassment. Red Maga would have immigrants locked up/dead while Blue Maga would have them back to the shadows to keep the empire internally running

14
vegeta1 [he/him] - 2mon

Admin putting serial numbers on the migrants. Nazi shit. Nah American shit

14
Frogmanfromlake [none/use name] - 2mon

Belize did something to me. It’s like that bs story about Boris Yeltsin in the US but it’s me feeling this way about the innocence of it all.

Belize is a small country that most people aren’t even aware of. They also expelled Israeli politicians and have made great strides in their new social-democratic government and yet they get none of the political ire or really much of anything negative unless it’s Guatemala threatening to invade lol

It almost makes me want to leave Guatemala and just live out the remainder of my life in Belize. Our org has done great work but it gets exhausting dealing with the far-right, annoying anarchists, America worshipping libs, smug adoptees, Mormon missionaries, etc.

13
WildWeezing420 [he/him] - 2mon

guatemala has the craziest politics I feel like, I was there during an election season and there were a billion signs up for like 100 different political parties with incomprehensible acronyms and generic ass names

7
Frogmanfromlake [none/use name] - 2mon

Lmao what year was it? Politics are actually pretty standard once you get past the number of parties that come and go every year. There’s maybe 10 or 15 that actually matter.

5
WildWeezing420 [he/him] - 2mon

10 or 15 that matter

the number that come and go every year

politics are pretty standard

As an American you are blowing my mind

5
Frogmanfromlake [none/use name] - 2mon

Central American politics are like this lol

A lot of different parties with a small number of them actually mattering in elections. This is why coalitions are more common than in the US. One could say that the different caucuses in the political parties are the same as coalitions here.

3
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2mon

It's a shame the library in the town I was with the sweet park is so small. That town is way more chill in regards to cops. The other town they keep moving about and they annoy me.

13
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 2mon

awww... feels bad, Mill doggirl-gloom

8
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2mon

Is alright even when the cops be watching me all they get is me reading for hours on end very-smart there's this safety in reading I find because first I get so immersed in it I forget about my anxieties outside and I bet I just look so chill they don't suspect me of anything.

9
vegeta1 [he/him] - 2mon

This is how mlk was viewed then. Cut the bullshit

13
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2mon

Liberals fondly remembering Obama and ICE being more humane when the guy in charge of ICE now was appointed by Obama. Liberals should just do everyone a favor and take a hammer to their head not like they're using their memory or critical thinking skills anyway

12
HexaSnoot [none/use name] - 2mon

"Fondly remembering Obama and ICE being more humane... back when the guy in charge of ICE now was appointed by Obama."

This would be good as text in a picture. I have no social media accounts though so oh well.

8
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2mon

Against my better judgement I do browse reddit-logo as much as I hate it keeping tabs on them might be a good barometer

5

I like the creativity here.

Do you have a preference of which form of tiny corn you like best? I've only seen them in a can, but I'm sure you can buy them in other ways at local Asian grocery stores.

7
Angel [any] - 2mon

This was just the Dynasty canned baby corn. I unfortunately don't have an Asian grocery store too close to me.

5
Angel [any] - 2mon

Craqueers love getting really upset when QTPOC don't automatically trust them to not be racist as fuck

10
Angel [any] - 2mon

Just finished the 2nd and last part of the assessment... I shall get an answer, soon.

This is it. Hoping real hard.

peripateticpeasant [none/use name] - 2mon

Going back home to my country after a 4 year stint. But unlike before, there is no confirmation if I’ll ever get the chance to come back.

Closes a chapter of this whole story.

I know I’ll do alright back home, I have lived there recently enough and so everything is still familiar, but I am still a bit upset because I finally have this semblance of security where I was, but again I have to move countries, with no plans for the future.

Young adult aimlessness and angst. But this time I’m letting it carry me forward - we’ll see where it’ll go.

10
Angel [any] - 2mon

Just passed the first portion of the assessment for the job! This portion just required me to answer a bunch of multiple choice questions. I only ended up having one attempt, and I succeeded!

The next part will require me to do an actual transcription sample, and once I pass that, I'm with the job for real!

10

Wishing everyone a good week . Drinking coffee right now pulling an allnighter

homhom9000 [she/her] - 2mon

Getting my UTI checked, for those counting it's been 2 months. But my symptoms didn't get worse so that could be good. I'm just tired of peeing

8
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon

Ugh I know that feeling (I get UTIs too from catheterization). Lately, they've been getting more frequent due to a medication I'm on. It's either more frequent incontinence or more frequent bladder infections.

Whoever invented the human body is a shithead.

7
homhom9000 [she/her] - 2mon

If there is a god then they're cruel. Why make it so easy to get bacteria into the bladder, just make everything go one way

6
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 2mon

to introduce inclusivity we will now have grand witches in our klan

8
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2mon

I swear getting targeted commercials either the most dog shit Spanish I've heard or using POC as props to show how cool and hip this thing is. Also the token white people present are funny ngl DEI is alive and well

8

My mom's asking me if I can find her one of those phone cards so I can call to mexico but I'm gonna be honest idk if there a thing still or what. Still gonna go out to the mexican groceries and see what I find

8
vegeta1 [he/him] - 2mon

RFK a decades long heroin addict is absolutely poleaxing healthcare infrastructure and will plummet the life expectancy. Imagine a POC doing a fraction of that?

7
homhom9000 [she/her] - 2mon

What's AI? I sent my estranged dad a picture of my toilet and he sent me the parts and steps to fix it.

7
Angel [any] - 2mon

Remember when I shared that downtuned 9-string clip some time ago?

I made it into a full song!

It'll be on the 2nd album!

I actually took it down a semitone further, so now it's G₀–C₁–G₁–C₂–F₂–B♭₂–E♭₃–G₃–C₄ instead. The (7-string) bass tuning is G₀–C₁–F₁–B♭₁–E♭₂–A♭₂–D♭₃. Honestly, the first guitar solo in this one is not only the longest one I've written so far (around 1 minutes and 20 seconds), but it's also arguably the best? I really don't know how I'd rank my own solos, but I fw this one a lot.

That little upbeat, chuggy bridge section that follows immediately after (around 4:24) puts a smile on my face. I could imagine some of my vocals going nicely over that.

I rushed the mix a bit to be honest, but I think the general idea is conveyed well in this little proof-of-concept.

Initially, I wrote that riff to see if I could make an absurdly low-tuned guitar fit eloquently in a song instead of it just being the wire cable kind of chug machine a lot of extended-range guitars end up being used as.

7
HexaSnoot [none/use name] - 2mon

Do yall musicians just know wjat something sounds like by reading music notes?

7
Angel [any] - 2mon

It depends... once you start composing often and making use of certain patterns, modes, and scales, you get a greater feel for what a part is gonna sound like just based off of the sequence of notes. Writing music in notation editors certainly trains your ear. However, these notation editors let me play back a MIDI so I can hear it directly.

5
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2mon

Saw a labubu for the first time on Monday in a cozy little Mexican grocery, worst thing was it was next to a labubu Funko pop I felt my soul leaving my body catgirl-huh

7
thelastaxolotl [he/him] - 2mon

Oh yea i keep seeing them here for a while now, mostly in the tiangis

6
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2mon

It's just so jarring but like I get it they sell I guess

6
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2mon

Family from Mexico sent over bunch of stuff for us, roasted pumpkin seeds, peanuts, tamarind, candied calavzas, and like a lot of dried fruit. Been looking to eat something snack like and I'm indulging rn

7
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 2mon

Ta bom! yummy

5
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2mon

I've eaten so many pumpkin seeds in the last hour you'd wouldn't believe

6
Angel [any] - 2mon

Just finished filling out the onboarding paperwork, such as the direct deposit forms and whatnot, for this job.

I almost feel at a disbelief at how close it seems I am to having a damn job, but I still gotta pass this assessment (which is open-book, thankfully).

7
Angel [any] - 2mon

Okay, so it seems I misunderstood how this practice session works.

The first set of files I just did there were SOLELY FOR PRACTICE, not actual grading. I was confused because I thought they were. I'm gonna get a 2nd set of files to do later today, and that will also be for practice. However, this time around, the coach gave me feedback in the form of edited PDFs, and I downloaded those.

After that, I will get a 3rd set of files, and that time, it's for real.

6
homhom9000 [she/her] - 2mon

This UTI antibiotic is fucking me up. I'd rather have the UTI

6
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon

If you can find some probiotic stuff, that can help. Antibiotics kill a lot of bacteria in your stomach in the crossfire. Depends on which antibiotic, though. Cephalexin is pretty mild, while Bactrim is a little rough since it's also used to treat MRSA. Vancomycin will make your veins collapse and kill just about everything in your system 🙃

5
homhom9000 [she/her] - 2mon

This was it actually! I drank a probiotic drink and woke up brand new. Picked up like 5 more today and upped my water intake.

Kind of funny I need pro biotics to help with the anti biotics. Like make a choice should I have biotics or not

4
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon

Glad that helped. I had to take probiotic pills when I had MRSA and the antibiotics wrecked havoc on my system. Now I stick to the supplements when I get UTIs.

3
Frogmanfromlake [none/use name] - 2mon

It’s a little amusing that the Belizean diaspora calls themselves Latino/Latina. The people in Belize hate that lol

6
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon

Belize nada flan

:kelly:

2
Wmill [they/them, fae/faer] - 2mon

Eating my beans and my soup and I see myself in the reflection of the kitchen window, I look tired it's blurry but that was my self perception of myself. I did cry for feeling grateful that I eat every day and that my family loves me but I can't help but to cry. Having to worry about money all the time and eating beans daily takes a toll, I want to be financially stable enough where I'm eating by choice instead because of how cheap they are.

I got an opportunity coming up that could change things, when I make it Ojalá I'll try to pull everyone else around me up too.

5
HexaSnoot [none/use name] - 2mon

Why do some Asian people call Asian things oriental, but white people do it "wrong?" I understand none of it so I just steer clear of the word.

5
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon

I think when a lot of Asians use it, it's closer to saying "colored people" But when a lot of white people use it, it's more like they're saying "coloreds." It's an outdated term that should be avoided, with some older folks of the ethnicity not thinking anything of it. You see that a lot with "oriental markets" owned and staffed by Asians. But, Whitey can't help himself from turning things into slurs (as a treat).

There's also a difference between saying something like "colored paper" and "colored people." I think stuff like "oriental rug" falls into this category.

6
WildWeezing420 [he/him] - 2mon

I believe oriental is still commonly used in academic settings, specifically the term 'orientalism' when critiquing it. That's a bit different than going around calling people casually "orientals" which to me verges on being a slur

5
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon

Yah if someone referred to me as "that oriental," I'm punching that person in the face.

4
HexaSnoot [none/use name] - 2mon

Both ways sound highly offensive when explained this way. Grateful I followed my gut and avoid it.

3
HexaSnoot [none/use name] - 2mon

Why is "c-ds" more offensive than "c-d people"? To me, both sound equally crazy to hear.

1
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 2mon

They're both bad, but the second one still acknowledges human beings as people. The first completely reduces them to an adjective based on their skin.

As another example, the NAACP still goes by the name of NAACP. It would be outright derogatory, though, if you left out the "P" when referring to that organization.

2
CrookedSerpent [she/her] - 2mon

I use it in a snide way all the time, probably shouldn't.

2
