Really, this would count as the whole country being unsafe? I didn't guess that because it's "just" funding and not a direct ban.
As I understand it it's a defacto ban and qualifies. But I have a lawyer friend who's keeping tabs on it and will let me know.

I'm desperately hoping my passport gets back to me, but Im not holding my breath for any country to take in any yank as a refugee. If any do though I won't stick around.
Just go to a country "for vacation" and over stay - the US has visa free travel to a lot of countries. Search out the expat community to get a lead on jobs and even couches to surf on. If you get a tentative job offer then your golden and can easily apply for a visa. Tell their immigration "I came here to vacation but fell in love with the county".
Few countries are as rabbid as the US when it comes to immigration. They tend to just rubber stamp things and deportations are really rare.

Im not in america, but I'm currently drowning in admin while I try and get my shit together to get a passport, I sincerely would be leaving the usa, I don't feel overly hopeful about the way things are heading in the imperial core
