The thing about U.S. media dominance is that you can't escape its ideas even in places you consider to be apolitical or safe, I just saw a kitty page that I follow make a joke about the U.S. bombing Iran.

vegeta1 [he/him] - 6mon

Its disturbing how gleefully sadistic they get too. You don't go to far before you get people saying nuke a country

"DUDE ARE YOU SERIOUSLY DEFENDING THE BARBARIAN SAVAGES OF AFRICA? THEY EAT HUMANS DUDE, I HAVE A COUSIN THERE AND THEY PUT HIM IN A BIG POT AND ATE HIM, CAN'T BELIEVE YOU LEFTISTS WILL SUPPORT EVEN BARBARIC CANNIBAL REGIMES IF IT MEANT IT'S AGAINST THE EMPIRE" - British man in the 1800s who I depict as the wojak.

14
vegeta1 [he/him] - 6mon

I'm at a point where I don't bother with internet arguments especially over one's basic humanity. I just want to beat mfs to an within an inch of their life. You don't see lions argue with their prey so why bother? I'm wasting my time. Dudes arguing points that lead to ethnic cleansing and I'm no gonna be thinking about a witty reddit retort because if this were face to face most people avert their eyes to people like me for a good reason.

13
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 6mon

Yeah

If politics deals with people's lives, why wouldn't we settle it out with people's lives?

12
Ath3ro [none/use name] - 6mon

i wish upon people what they wish upon for others. You don’t think trans people deserve to live? Tough luck buddy i hope you fucking die before i ever try to convince you of someone’s basic human rights

11
vegeta1 [he/him] - 6mon

People arguing about free speech slippery slops are quiet when things are already off the ramp for trans people. Fuck outta here

8
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 6mon

I just don't have the energy to argue over stuff online. I had a lot more patience when I was 20, but now? I've seen everything liberals and other reactionaries have to say to the point I can type out their responses for them. I don't mind explaining stuff to people asking genuine questions.

I'm just not in the mood to argue over why higher minimum wage is a good thing. Or what taxes are. Or why abortion should be legal and widely accessible. I've had these conversations too many times, especially with the libertarians all over the place when Ron Paul was running.

11
vegeta1 [he/him] - 6mon

Dudes like "oh so you don't like when your views are challenged" yeah I don't want to argue on whether my people deserved to be treated liked dirt. You've already lost and you know it. You have to look your child in the eyes everyday and justify these views to them subject them to living a life of fear that you lead. You lost and you drag everyone you love into a Maelstrom of hate and you normalize this poison. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy and you inflict this on your fam.

Absurd question but I just realized I have no idea how do I make other bipoc friends? Because almost all my friends are white and there's things they don't get. I live in a very white place but it's a city and there's tons of normal (non-cracker) people around, but a lot of them seem siloed in their own communities. I've never felt like I could go to cultural events for my ethnic group and don't even know if there are any here because my parents are pretty assimilationist, I don't speak the language, I don't have a shared cultural background because I was raised very American.

13
BGDelirium [he/him] - 5mon

Replying to this for visibility because I feel the same way.

thelastaxolotl [he/him] - 6mon

The current struggle sess on twitter about wages in the imperial core showed the chauvinism of quite a few "leftists", god forbid someone mentions that there is other ways to empowers the workers in the imperial core than just rising the minimun wage

13
Rojo27 [he/him] - 6mon

You'd think that people would see that given how expensive it is to survive even in places that have raised the minimum wage. Like, yes its an important fight, but in the end its an extremely small part of a much larger class struggle. Its the same with free Healthcare. A lot of" leftists" trip over themselves to support any run of the mill socdem imperialist as soon as they say the support it.

13
homhom9000 [she/her] - 5mon

I had to question my own politics because it seems so obvious that raising wage is no end goal for anybody. My salary basically doubled in the past 5 years, you know what else did ? My rent. I would gladly take half of my salary if it meant I had little to no rent.

I'm glad the left is starting to talk policy now in lieu of catchy slogans though.

9
peripateticpeasant [none/use name] - 6mon

I really don’t care what is happening in New York. And i especially don’t care if this person is “Muslim” who will work under the chains of the liberal bourgeois state. If all you need is some left-facing slogans to vote than I don’t know what to say.

Can’t wait for my country to get indebted to Wall Street banks and get “structurally adjusted” - but atleast the banks are under a city with a “Muslim” governor! All is well. - Felt the same when Sadiq Khan become London’s mayor.

and before anyone says why I have “Muslim” in quotes, I take the opinion of Houria Bouteldja of what it means to be a Muslim in the West:

:::spoiler spoiler so it doesnt take the whole chat

One of God’s names is “a l-‘Adl,” which means “The Just.” The idea that my father, Allah yrahmou, transmitted to me is that Islam is fundamentally an ideal of justice. So, to the question “Can one be Muslim in the West?” his answer (as well as mine) would have been a provocative “No.” The presentation I will make here is not that of an Islamic scholar, as I have neither the qualification for it nor the pretension to it. Instead, I would like to offer an analytical framework for understanding the interactions between the fact of being and calling oneself Muslim and the fact of being involved in politics. Wal-‘Ilmou lillâh.

If Islam is really this ideal of radical justice, then our presence as Muslims in the heart of the imperial city, in the heart of injustice, is problematic. In this context, perhaps we would have more humility if we saw ourselves as becoming Muslims.

Some of you may dismiss that statement since, at the individual level, you respect the teachings of the sacred book, the five pillars of Islam, the Sunnah and the great principles. These are indeed the bases of Islamic practice and they are fundamental to whomever aspires to belong to the Ummah el Islamiya. But I contend that there is a profound contradiction between the ideal of justice advocated by Islam and the material gains that we have achieved by living, to a great extent, off of spoliation of the South (in the form of wages, social redistribution or political rights). We are certainly not the main beneficiaries of North/South domination (the bourgeoisie is), and we are not even secondary beneficiaries (the white working classes are). We are the unwanted and collateral beneficiaries of this system but we still benefit, even while remaining in the margins.

When I say “we,” I mean this intermediate category between Whites and people of the Third World, that is, postcolonial subjects living in the West. Ancestors of colonized people and victims of structural racism in the North, they are despised, relegated, discriminated against but their burden is lessened, relatively speaking, because they enjoy the social, economic and political rights of liberal democracies. So I speak of “aristocratic indigenous people” not unlike those in white left movements who speak of “aristocratic laborers.” The first thing to do in order not to escape one’s conscience is to face reality in all its ugliness. And the first ugliness of this system is that none of us is innocent. But we are not guilty either because the world in which we live is a system that precedes us and will probably survive after us. We are not guilty, but we are responsible. We are responsible as human beings, we are responsible as third-people living in the North, and we are responsible as “potential” Muslims. In my view, it is based on this awareness and this objective situation in conflict with the Islamic principle of justice that we must forge politics. Here, I would like to introduce a distinction between social and political Muslims. The first are, in a large sense, cultural Muslims (they inherited Islamic culture because they were born in an Islamic environment—they practice or not or are converts) while the second are those who, in addition to having faith, are aware of their responsibility in a structurally unjust world. It is this second category that is the focus of my interest in this paper.

:::

I’m not here to have a debate (because my mind is already made up), but i am just airing it out at the void really.

12
vegeta1 [he/him] - 6mon

"We are certainly not the main beneficiaries of North/South domination (the bourgeoisie is), and we are not even secondary beneficiaries (the white working classes are). We are the unwanted and collateral beneficiaries of this system but we still benefit, even while remaining in the margins." This hits hard

12
vegeta1 [he/him] - 6mon

I don't care how good once upon a time in Hollywood may be.... That disrespect to bruce lee made me throw it in the bin. You know how many of us in Africa got inspired to do martial arts because of that man and how he resonated with a lot of us? Yeah tarantino was a fool for that one.

11
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 6mon

I recall Tarantino tried to also complain, and I'm paraphrasing, "Bruce Lee wanted to use real, hard force in his fighting moves against stuntmen, during choreographed fights" {note: this is typical in HK kung fu movie production, not limited to Bruce Lee}

Like what are :cracker: proving? That HK kung fu fighters and even their stuntmen are the real deal, when it comes to giving and taking blows to and from others?

13
vegeta1 [he/him] - 5mon

Then tarantino says cliff would have killed bruce lee in a fight because hes a world war vet. Mate bruce lee was a competitive boxer and would have gone far. He's one of the most influential figures of mixed martial arts. Hell hes had legit fights with other martial artists that he's won like wong jack man. More white male fantasy shit. How many soldiers even really used close combat? There was that American dude in the North korean war but other than that? They're tough but their training is mostly split in weapons etc. See videos of navy seals sparring pros its embarrassing.

11
vegeta1 [he/him] - 5mon

Hell look at jackie chan movies. Those hits were fuuuuucking hard. Like his fights against benny the jet urquidez that shit had nasty blows from the takes. The speed they went at was insane. Hollywood is not sniffing a lightyear of the atyleticism, coordination, speed of that kind not even with all the slow motion and camera cuts they use in movies. And before joining those stunt teams you had to be extremely proficient at martial arts.

10
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 5mon

Jackie Chan breaking his foot from that jump he did for Rumble in the Bronx is proof of his abilities. Not only did he make that jump, anyone else would have died even trying to do it. There's problems with actors doing there own stunts, but holy shit Jackie Chan does all his own stunts lmao

9
vegeta1 [he/him] - 5mon

Facts. To this day idk how jackie is still alive. In armour of god he fell from a tree, fractured his skull and a piece of bone pierced his brain. He should have died on that set. The guy is straight up superhuman.

8
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 5mon

he also said he wanted to join the Communist Party of China

8
vegeta1 [he/him] - 5mon

Yeah thats why a lot of these Americans in the martial arts scene were mad at him because his father I think opposed the CPC if I remember right

7
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 5mon

Imagine WWIII happens and China air drops one soldier at Pensylvania... and it's Jackie Chan

6
anarchoilluminati [comrade/them] - 5mon

And Jackie was taking hits before he was a star too. Famously was knocked out by Bruce Lee himself, what an honor.

https://youtu.be/U8CtOqJy6xM

7
vegeta1 [he/him] - 5mon

Lmmfao fam I heard of that story and I'm like... Okay that makes sense. No shame. Jackie legit wanted a real fight with benny the jet. Benny the jet was a beast in kickboxing. Undefeated for years

7
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 5mon

What an honor indeed

4
anarchoilluminati [comrade/them] - 5mon

I also was immediately pissed and turned off by that scene. Couldn't enjoy the movie, just seemed like racist fantasies to me. No way Brad Pitt could beat Bruce Lee, what the hell. Haha

8
vegeta1 [he/him] - 5mon

Swear I don't know what pissed me off worse... That bruce lee is portrayed as a bully when he was anything but, or that he loses in that manner. His family didn't like that shit. That tarantino goof loves using the hard R in his movies and went hard for Polanski. Swear its been fuck him for the longest time.

8
anarchoilluminati [comrade/them] - 5mon

Totally agree. I loved Kill Bill and Reservoir Dogs when I saw them as a kid, still enjoy them, but Tarantino is overrated and on borrowed time.

7
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 5mon

Tarantino is overrated and on borrowed time.

Personally, I think he's the most overrated director of all time. I think his only good movies were Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction. Everything else is just scenes lifted from other directors cobbled together, then he has everyone die at the end because he doesn't know how else to finish a story. A lot of his movies start off great, then turn into parodies of themselves by the end.

His support of Isreal, support of Polanski, and problematic writing make me hope he falls off a cliff. I think he was also involved with Harvey Weinstein, but dodged #MeToo allegations because he stays out of the public eye. Uma Thurman's interview about how he treated her on Kill Bill should have ended his career.

9
vegeta1 [he/him] - 5mon

Shit how much of kill bill had bruce lee inspiration i-cant

11
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 6mon

"Hey this term has racist origins, despite it being an acceptable term within the white power structure. Maybe as leftists, we shouldn't use it and instead take the time to write out or say the definition without using the term itself?"

"Yeah but it's the accepted term and it means the same as the definition."

"But the term itself is harmful and othering. Here's a list of reasons why, along with examples of similar terms that used to be acceptable: "

"I don't see the point."

What the fuck is it with white 'leftists' not wanting to learn things or change their views based on material consequences?

10
thelastaxolotl [he/him] - 6mon

I think its because some see themselfs as the one true leftists so they think by not changing their views they are the real deal, its narcissism really

6
Angel [any] - 6mon

White leftists also love to erase racial matters from any conversation because their mentality is, "I can't be held accountable for something if I just act like it doesn't exist!"

It's the same as the "I don't see color!" libs.

7
anarchoilluminati [comrade/them] - 5mon

Anyone ever have white women saying that they struggle more than male poc’s? I’ve been hearing this more from white Guatemalans. They claim that they face more racism for having blonde hair and blue eyes. That nonwhite men have an advantage over them because we don’t face sexism like they do.

Guatemala does have a pretty bad sexism issue but white Guatemalans pretty much own the finance industry in Guatemala and you’ll find the whitest men and women at the executive levels while brown people are hired cleaners.

9
Angel [any] - 6mon

White women having this energy of not actually opposing oppression but rather opposing being a victim of oppression happens to be one of the most common criticisms they get from POC, and that includes WOC. This is most white women I've interacted with, and that includes the ones I've dated.

White women tend to prefer having both white supremacy and patriarchy in place rather than having neither. They'd rather face oppression under white men, just so that they can oppress POC, than be free with WOC.

In fact, I find that, in general, white people who have some sort of marginalized identity (white women, yes, but also white queers and even white ND people) love to exploit the shit out of that marginalized identity to avoid accountability. The number of times I've seen white women have a #notallwhitewomen moment just because a Black woman demands basic respect from them + the number of times I've seen a white queer unabashedly pinkwashing racism is far too much.

Intersectionality in the minds of these people is the exception, not the rule.

10
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 6mon

I just got in an argument with my mom today (she's white, I'm mixed-race Filipino + white) over the Supreme Court case. She doesn't think I'm at risk of deportation. Flips will eventually be on the chopping block as Whitey moves down the list of minorities since deportations won't actually solve any problems (often making them worse, in fact). I tried explaining to her people with birthright citizenship have already been deported. Laws and rules don't matter because if they did, every white person would be deported back to Europe. We all know that's never going to happen.

The topic of my dad's side of the family living in the US came up. His first ex-wife is here, along with a few of my oldest siblings. I pointed out they're all at a serious risk of deportation, which means I'll be responsible for my niece and nephew. Again, more denial and deflection. Then the mask slipped.

"[Your dad's ex-wife] may be a necessary sacrifice and it makes sense."

I managed to not throw my dinner plate at her face and stayed calm with "There shouldn't be any 'sacrifices' at all." She then got real quiet and is now throwing a temper tantrum because she showed her whole ass, knows she got caught, and wishes I'd be a good little removed who agrees with her it's not our problem.

I am so fucking ready to be done with this side of my family. If I wasn't disabled and reliant on them for help, I would have fucked off by now. It's really shitty to say, but I can't wait until she finally fucking croaks, I get an inheritance, sell the house, and leave. She should fucking know better, being a woman who had to deal with sexual harassment and not being allowed to have her own bank account for the first twenty-something years of her life. But no. Fuck everyone else, she just wants to have what's hers while reactionaries go to town on the rest of us. She thinks white privilege applies to me and that I should take advantage of it.

These last few years have made me rethink everything I thought I knew about my family's history. My mom's mom was genuinely one of the worst people I've ever met, another white woman born into a world where she couldn't even vote, yet was horrifically racist, misogynistic, and antisemitic. I thought for most of my life, my mom had managed to lose these beliefs inflicted on her by her mother. Nope! It's all crackkkers all the way down.

Sorry for ranting. It's just so incredibly frustrating hearing people from other marginalized groups reinforce and simultaneously downplay white supremacy.

9
Angel [any] - 6mon

No, the ranting is extremely appreciated.

Shit like this needs to be said.

8
anarchoilluminati [comrade/them] - 6mon

Damn, sorry you have to deal with that shit from your own mom.

I don't get it though, why does she think the ex is a necessary sacrifice? Because she's supporting Trump deportations and is okay with some innocents getting caught up if they get the criminals, because she's just racist, or because she harbors some animosity towards the ”ex"? Not excusable either way, obviously, but just curious.

5
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 6mon

Because she's a snitch and a scab who thinks we can serve other people up if ICE comes. Since my dad's ex doesn't have kids born on US soil and immigrated herself, she's the most at risk for deportation with what's going on. What would actually happen is the ex would get deported, then ICE would deport the rest of us anyway.

6
Lemmygradwontallowme [he/him, comrade/them] - 6mon

"[Your dad's ex-wife] may be a necessary sacrifice and it makes sense."

I managed to not throw my dinner plate at her face and stayed calm with "There shouldn't be any 'sacrifices' at all." Not even scratched, but the fear of being scratched in this case lmao

5
anarchoilluminati [comrade/them] - 6mon

Completely agree, almost always the case. I refuse to even date White women at this point, much less have a long-term relationship.

6
Angel [any] - 6mon

It feels really concerning that there are cases where I'd feel infinitely more respected by a Black conservative than I would a white leftist (even though, obviously, neither of them would be truly respectful).

9
la_tasalana_intissari_mata [comrade/them] - 5mon

I was already fucking done with westerners, but the genocide and the bombing of Iran sealed it, there's nothing to expect from them or any hope from them, lost cause not different than Germans in the 40s, there's multiple concentration camps massacres happen every day, then your country bombs a random country's NUCLEAR FACILITY FOR THE GOAL OF MAKING IT LEAK and they still act like it's normal even better, they criticize us in our countries for being authoritarians or aggressors or whatever the fuck george orwell words they learned in 7th grade reading.

9
vegeta1 [he/him] - 5mon

They act like hitler is some kinda messiah. Him dying washes away their sins or some shit and they have a clean slate to do more fuckeries and we're supposed to turn a blind eye to it.

9
Frogmanfromlake [none/use name] - 5mon

YES YES YES! it is maddeningly frustrating to see this shit. The biggest doomers I have ever met weren’t people living in slums, victims of facist torture during the civil war, or even victims of genocide among the indigenous population. No the biggest doomers have been people living in wealthy NATO countries talking about how they’re powerless and the world is ending.

Even the Trump shit is kind of annoying. It’s like Americans want to live in a real dictatorship. I spent my early years living in one and still have ptsd issues from it. This doomer shit is unproductive and obnoxious. We may be getting hurt more by climate change and political/economic instability but at least we’re better prepared to weather the storm.

13
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 5mon

Handmaid's Tale is a prime example of the cracker brain. "Oh no! A fascist, theocratic dictatorship is going to force women to give birth and then steal the children!" and I'm like "Motherfucker that's already been done in the US to black and Native American women, complete with the religious aspect."

They're afraid of what Whitey has done to other people all over the world for centuries being done to other white people. Liberals are willfully ignorant about their country's history. Conservatives have a larger persecution fetish than liberals and want to LARP as the American Revolution so they can kill people they don't like.

Not to mention, places in the Imperial Core are all relatively safe. Americans are so easily startled by their own shadows. They act like they live in a place where people just disappear because they got nabbed by criminal organizations. Or where you can't walk outside at night because there's so many robberies and homicides. Very few places in the US are genuinely dangerous and they sure as shit aren't some suburb in Idaho. You should be more worried about alligators in Florida than violent crime.

9
daofaorao [none/use name] - 5mon

Its a reactionary and misanthropic attitude. With the way they talk, you'd think capitalism reigned since time immemoriam, or that the cuban, russian, chinese, vietnamese, and haitian revolutions never happened in that span of time.

Seeing a white western spout nihilistic nonsense is as embarrassing as watching a high school adolescent enter an edgelord phase

Che had 340 fighters to tackle an enemy force ten times larger and supported by tanks and air power.

She was shocked by how “dirty and messed-up” the guerrillas looked. Her father, who was standing next to her, muttered incredulously: “These guys are planning to take Santa Clara?” Then Lolita spotted Che, and she was struck both by how young he looked and by his air of authority. This impression was bolstered when one of his men, his face a battle-weary mask, asked her how many soldiers were in the city. When she told him “about five thousand,” he nodded and said, “Good, with our jefe that’s no problem.”

I mean the world is going to shit lets not kid ourselves here. Thats not the funny part. The funny part is this idea that they can vote their way out of it. That they can maintain this lifestyle while picking on the bones and exploiting us in the third world. That their lifestyle to keep this air of superiority with is largely responsible. A lot of shit they're scared of they been doing to us. Difference is they tell us to be thankful for it and get shocked people like the Palestinians fight back

One of the most popular chuds was calling to feed 65 million migrants to the gators in florida, aka the 65 million latinos living in the USA

ICE is just the US version of the gestapo at this point

From that post that Laura Loomer made? Even more cursed is that she also had a play on 'black lives matter' with the 'alligator lives matter' line. They don't even care about masking their callous hatred of POC anymore.

Can't forget that time I was getting along really well with this Black queer vegan leftist until they found out I'm an ML and said "Sorry, I hate tankies and campists."

Wew... this person was certainly interesting. They told me they don't care about content for Palestine because it seems "trendy." (WTF)

So many vibes, and none of them feel right.

Bit idea: we dress up as ICE agents and go to sanctuary cities where we arrest real ICE agents and deport them back to Europe. We give all their stuff to immigrants they were trying to attack.

Yesterday, I said to myself in the morning, "I haven't had doubles in a long time. Maybe I should go to the Caribbean shop sometime soon."

Then shortly after I go on Instagram, I see a post from this vegan recipe account by this Black British man I follow. He primarily shares African, Latin American, and Caribbean dishes, and this time, he shared a recipe for doubles.

I find it a fascinating coincidence!

already got this much done

I'm thinking to write a bridge that leads into a guitar solo and then go from there with one more verse/pre-chorus/chorus section. After that, some sort of outro will close out the song, and that will conclude track 8 out of 9!

7
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 6mon

conclude track 8 out of 9!

Damn you're close to a full album. Gonna try to get a label to publish or just distribute for fun?

6
Angel [any] - 6mon

I actually intend to see if I can get a full band going at some point and publish this for real.

My main issue right now is that I need some more musical equipment but won't have the funds to get it until I get out of this unemployment shit. That's what I'm looking forward to the most.

Since I'm clearly quite a prolific writer, I'd love to get music out at a King Gizzard rate, really.

I have a 4-string bass and have been practicing on that for now, but the songs I write are for when I get a 7-string bass. I intend to get a used one to keep it fairly cheap, especially since most companies are not regularly producing such a niche kind of instrument. Thankfully, my bass playing and vocals are improving a lot, and I'm starting to get the hang of singing and playing simultaneously!

Finally got to a point where I was able to sing through a whole song using unclean vocals and didn't need to take a break.

Unfortunately, I didn't record it yet, but this is a huge accomplishment because I used to feel weak as shit doing this even after just a single verse. This time, it felt incredibly easy, relaxed, and natural yet the growls still sounded fierce as fuck.

I did this so casually. I was just doing some dishes, and then I just randomly started singing the lyrics to "Pull the Plug" by Death. I sang the whole way through with my unclean technique.

I've been trying to practice my uncleans a lot more often because I felt like I was giving the cleans more love as of late, but I'm gonna practice both whenever I can!

I find it funny that the people cheering on CECOT were absolutely terrified at the idea of us hosting migrants in our prisons. They hate the migrants but fear taking on the US’s unwanted will lead to backlash if a Dem gets into power.

My team is down 3: 1 permanent. I keep breaking my back to get things done, but my friend said let it all fail so they know it's unreasonable to have 3 less people and keep up same amount of output. Since I'm in charge I worry it'll backfire; I also worry that they know I'm not the type to let things fail which is why they overloaded me.

Rojo27 [he/him] - 5mon

Pretty much in a similar situation for the past 3+years. Took forever to add a 4th person because we were seeing a much higher volume of work.

That person only lasted about 3 months before they quit. Never got replaced. With the experience we had gained we were able to handle the volume of work, but only because we were just that good at the job and we picked up extra shift.

One of the people from our 3 person crew left and we struggled to replace them because the base pay is shit. Finally replaced them after some turnover over a year. The new person isn't quite as reliable. Had the other person get promoted and their replacement has been similarly unreliable.

Now I'm doing my best balancing helping them with the work they do plus all the responsibilities I have as a lead all while the higher up occasionally mention adding another person, which we already had. I'm so fucking tired, but I know looking g for another job is going to be hell and somehow they're still ok with how things are even though we've had a drop in the quality of our work.

7
homhom9000 [she/her] - 5mon

Our quality dropped too! But no one's saying anything so I'm not bringing it up either. There's too much work

Star witness against Kilmar Garcia has legit a long rapsheet and will not be deported or serve his federal prison sentence. So he has a rapsheet longer than the one love remix and hes gonna go free to get a man who has no criminal record of any kind. his credibility as a witness shattered due to an obvious deal he got. Absolute clown show that this case isn't thrown out of court

I've been counting, and this has been this case for at least 60 days now.

I think it's safe to say that he's not here anymore, but the only things that still leave me skeptical is:

  1. His number is still in the landlord's group chat for some reason.
  2. His room hasn't gone back up for rent it seems.
  3. I get this "it's too good to be true" vibe way deep in the back of my head because the first time I assumed that he was possibly gone for good, he showed back up. However, he did that within about 2 weeks that time. We're now in around 2 months, and he ain't anywhere to be found.

Basically, my skepticism comes from the lack of any noticeable "official" confirmation, but I guess this could just be due to a delay in handling formalities. Like, for example, if he died (timmy-pray), the landlord still might have to wait for some legal stuff to be sorted out, such as where his belongings go and lease concerns.

6
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 5mon

I bet if you made an art project out of styrofoam that looks like real cheese and left it out next to some cuckold porn DVDs, he'd show himself immediately. If it sits out for more than a day, you know he's gone for good. If he's not gone, it will be really, really funny when he tries to eat a styrofoam block of cheese.

Social media can be so cringe. I had been following an indigenous rights group and over time I've come to realize its kind of a lib page even though they do some radical positions like land back. And I didn't mind the fact that it is a lib page, but they posted some cringe shit about black people being colonizers and it like... ehhhh. If we're going to label black people like that because there are those who enthusiastically support the US and white supremacy then you're going down a slippery slope by labeling the entire group that way. Especially because there are groups of indigenous people who believe in assimilating with, or at least are ok with, colonizer culture. IDK, maybe I'm thinking about it too much, but I unfollowed the page. I have other indigenous rights pages that are much more intersectional.

Started the final track for the debut!

Sound different? Yeah, it's jazz!

This track is gonna be an outlier track that I'm titling "Role Reversal."

The premise of it is that the lead instrument, the solo you hear, is the 7-string bass, and that little walking "bassline" you hear underneath it? It's actually a clean 8-string guitar tone, so the extended-range bass and the extended-range guitar swapped roles.

It'll be a shorter track and totally instrumental. I don't intend to make this any longer than 3 minutes.

5
Angel [any] - 6mon

I decided to make the bridge a polyrhythmic breakdown kind of section.

The ambient guitar track in the background has a far more coherent rhythm, but the chugs on top are just... a bit all over the place, but it's in a way that works.

I'm in love with this. I think I did a good job. I could imagine it going well with some melodic, non-word vocals that harmonize well with the ambience (things like humming and whatnot).

Guitar solo is next!
