that's the secret to comedy, you just cut out the bad stuff and keep in the good stuff.

They have managed to distill the best improvisers of their cast of professionals, with the still funny but not great actors/character-people being mostly relegated to writing (which is good, they are good writers) and they have a lot of editing and camera work help to make things hit better.
