In response, he went over to the oldest guy around and asked him "Why can't Germany be normal about Israel?" and this 70-year-old German grandpa started ranting about apartheid, genocide, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, censorship of pro-Palestinian voices in Germany, everything.

You have no idea how relieved I was. For the first time since October 7th I was hearing other German people acknowledge that Israel is a genocidal apartheid state. No "We have to support them because of our country's history", no "It's complicated", no "But October 7th", no "But Khhamas". This Syrian guy told me that his family comes from a town in the Golan Heights and how people with German and Syrian citizenship aren't allowed to travel to Israel so he can't visit his hometown anymore.

I feel a little less insane after 18 months of nonstop propaganda. So happy that the local lefties aren't just radlibs. The old grandpa later told a story about how one of his comrades farted in a cop's face at some protest back in the day. Not everyone in this country is a lost cause.

My partner had a ton of old credit card debt that got written off this year. That generated a tax bill of over $4300!

It's such bullshit that it's considered a taxable event to be so poor the credit card company would rather take the tax write off than try to collect.

I was going to try an offer in compromise because they are on disability and poor, but it's such a maddeningly complex process that we can't even start because the stupid IRS website won't recognize their identity documents. Everyone that makes shorts where they play every character needs to be put in prison. Or ar least forced into acting lessons, if you're gonna play all the characters that's one thing but they need different voices and also you need to not be the most piss poor middle school play sounding actor. It's all the least natural sounding shot ever. It might be good to have a punchline too, your 30 second video is too short to just fizzle out. Also, none of these people are funny in general. They seem to barely have any grasp on the process of a joke or even how to create a humorous atmosphere. It comes off creepy and weird. Sketch comedy requires acting.

I have the most sensitive skin and literally every skincare product has made me flakey/oily/break out. Cerave, Vanicream, that other one thats supposed to be great.. I feel like niacinamide fucks me up which is in EVERYTHING now.... BUT, Aveeno calm+restore seems to be the one. Kinda spendy but worth it, for anyone who has had a terrible time with skincare. Slugging with Vaseline is dope too. This is the only stuff that seems to not irritate my skin and ive tried thousands of dollars worth of products by now.

One of the things I hate about how my work works is that because of the competitive tender process, we are motivated to under-quote in order to win bids. While I don't think our quotes are that wild undercounts, this means that every project is not provisioned for time super well. This means that everyone is rushing around at the end of every project trying to pull overtime, and we have to contact the clients and heckle them for more money. Given the uber-ish nature of the job, it also means we're constantly vacillating between a lot of stress and no work (and occasionally, a reasonable amount of work that doesn't feel rushed).

Also, a huge amount of the work is repeating work from another place because of IP.

Been jamming with a pal from work and gsve him a guitar I wasn't using. He took lessons but never learned power chords and also cause he's a slipknot and prog guy he's been putting the cart before the horse many a time like getting the guitar professionally set up for drop d which just made it harder to teach him powr chords cause there are now 2 kinds. Just remembered this time in 7th grade gym class where the substitute gym teacher straight up booed me and called me names for making a really good play. Kickball was the game, bases were loaded or at least 2/3 were, i know it got some runs in. I bunted, there was no catcher cause it's kickball, strikes aren't a thing, no rule had been set for how far you had to kick the ball (until after I bunted). This grown ass adult straight up booed me and called me 'Cheapo' because apparently it was a cheap move. I assumed that aside from kicking a bigger ball we were following the rules of fucking baseball. Is there a MLB rule that you can only hit pop flies?

Edit: know what happened when the first guy ever bunted in normal baseball? I don't but considering it's still done it seems that history vindicated him if it wasn't seen as a sick new baseball move in the first place. They didn't make it against the rules cause it made the game cooler and didn't fuck things up too much know the other team knew it was an option.

The next year was worse cause I had a broken jaw but still had to sit there and watch. This little piece of shit who had been my friend but wanted to get in with popular kids ran up to about 3 feet away and whipped a dodge ball right at my face. Since he did just literally try to make me need surgery as well as have my jaw wired shut cause it was hairline at the time so I could at least open my mouth and ear soft foods. So...as anyone would I began beating the absolute shit out of this kid. Got suspended for a week.
