EM & PoC bi-weekly thread 10/03/2025 and 17/03/2025
Hello my PoC nerds
Remember no Crackers
Angel [any] - 9mon
Just dealt with some people arguing that "anti-white racism is real" in a Discord I'm a part of. Ay, ay, ay...
One of their arguments brought up is how some white people have historically held and still currently hold negative sentiments about Irishmen, Italians, Slavs, and Ashkenazi Jews, but this isn't "anti-white racism."
This would be like saying it's "misandry" and "man-hating" for a hypermasculine gymbro to make fun of another guy for being effeminate.
17
homhom9000 [she/her] - 9mon
Anti-white racism doesn't exist because "white" doesn't exist, it was made up legitimize European racism. Asian is a derivative of being from the Asia region. Black was created because our histories and ethnicities were stripped from us. If they wanna argue they should argue with their grandparents.
16
Angel [any] - 9mon
I brought this up, too.
CracKKKers wanna be oppressed so bad.
16
homhom9000 [she/her] - 9mon
If anything they should be mad their ethnicities were also stolen and put into whatever "white" is. But no
16
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 9mon
This is always a tell when whities identify being white more than being European (which is 100% of the time). They have an ethnicity, one that hasn't had its language destroyed, its gods murdered, and its land colonized, yet they want the benefits of whiteness so they ignore all of that.
17
FunkyStuff [he/him] - 9mon
There probably would be more celebration of European ethnic heritage if the communities were, you know, communities. Instead, it's really hard for culture to be anything when everyone's social circle is their nuclear family (that is actually contradictory to the concept of family, because it seeks to break multi-generational relationships that would pass down culture) and their secondary social groups. There is no kinship, American white culture can really only be expressed through consumption or racist violence. All other forms of cultural expression of their heritage has been supplanted by capitalim.
10
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 9mon
Yeah thays pretty much what whiteness is: unified belief and adhesion for settler-colonialist violence. If your group perpetuates that violence, it becomes part of whiteness, while the groups who are subjected to violence are excluded.
We're preaching to the choir, though lol.
13
FunkyStuff [he/him] - 9mon
If we all work together really hard, we can make anti-white racism real.

People in my town are laughing at the footage of the people being deported to El Salvador. There’s a lot of Bukele fans in this area because of our border with El Salvador. I’ve mentioned before how the hate for migrants and alleged criminals runs deep here. They absolutely love seeing them suffer and I hate it.
14
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 9mon
And none of those deportations will actually fix anything that's wrong with your town. More likely, the deportations will make problems worse. Immigration is such a non-issue. Socialists desire a stateless society for a reason. It is the reactionary who wants to maintain borders out of pure racism while the bourgeois benefits from the inequality caused by limiting workers' ability to migrate.
13
Frogmanfromlake [none/use name] - 9mon
In their eyes it will because of various incidents that have happened here involving them. It’s the same as people believing high crime can be fixed with harsher police policies. Something else they believe because of Bukele constantly bragging about the decrease in crime stats.
And you have a point with the racism. They’re a lot harsher about the darker-skinned immigrants and have gone out of their way to attack them. The usual accusation is that they’re drug dealers or pedophiles.
6
homhom9000 [she/her] - 9mon
Can you imagine if people could get deported because Black/Asian/Latine/etc. people "felt unsafe" on campus? I hate that it almost feels antisemitic to say too becsuse they get to rewrite the definition of antisemitism. Zionism has taken over the Jewish identity, it's a shame but we can't move forward unless it's eradicated.
14
haxebear [null/void, they/them] - 9mon
One of Zionisms many contradictions in this take over is that it's done so to the detriment of Jews. Across the West many Jews are getting arrested for antisemitism charges in either decrying Zionism or supporting Palestine.
Which is really the second contradiction here, that the support of Zionism across the West is done for political purposes which are at best on behalf of some Jews. America in particular has a strong Zionist lobby in Evangelicals whose support of Zionism is literally antisemitic when explained.
9
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 9mon
strong Zionist lobby in Evangelicals
I'd put money on more Evangelicals as a percentage supporting zionism than actual Jews. It's completely normal for them to talk about making the apocalypse happen so they can all get raptured into heaven (the idea an all-powerful God needs anyone's help is "lol. lmao, even," but good luck convincing them of that).
As far as I know, the majority of Evangelicals and American protestants believe the Book of Revelation will come true during their lifetime. Something like 40% of all Americans think we are living in the End Times and Revelation will happen soon (and no, they don't think global warming is real).
5
homhom9000 [she/her] - 9mon
It's a tragedy really. And some prominent Jewish voices either don't care enough, or are also zionist themselves, either way the zionist win.
3
Rojo27 [he/him] - 9mon
Deport white supremacists to the bottom of the ocean.

homhom9000 [she/her] - 9mon
I wish the rest of us had as much political influence as they do. Even when we do get killed, or attacked, or whatever all we get are shrugs.

Angel [any] - 9mon
I hate how racial fetishism is such a common form of racism, and most people (even POC) don't see a problem with it because they're holding it to be "benevolent" and "appreciative" at face value instead of considering the underlying implications.
Racial fetishism is so normalized that people find me saying something like, "I don't care about race in potential dating partners," as absolutely unbelievable.
To be fair, I could probably say that it'd be nice to date someone who understands struggles as a POC and relates to me culturally, yes, but that's not what these people are getting at with their disbelief; it's a lot more superficial than that, a bunch of problematic stereotypes and generalizations instead.
However, my issue is that I'm already strict on who I'm open to dating. If I tried to do some racial filters when it comes to dating, my dating pool would be nearly non-existent because that would mean I could only date minorities within minorities within minorities.
13
Rojo27 [he/him] - 9mon
Yeah this is something that bothers me to this day. And for all of the supposed progress and complaints about that progress (cancel culture, wokeness, etc) it feels like all the typical "Get yourself a insert empoc partner" is still pervasive.
9
CommunistCuddlefish [she/her] - 9mon
(Sorry if I'm starting up a struggle session, I'm still a complete mess over this latest breakup and I don't know what to do.)
idk, I'm sort of at the point where I'm a bit afraid to date white people :( . I'm looking at all my most devastating failed relationships and noticing that they were all white people who just... couldn't do direct communication. My most recent ex blamed their like, 2nd gen scandinavian immigrant family for it, and while they tried hard to get better at direct communication, one of the big things that sabotaged the relationship was that they couldn't. And a lot of that was family trauma but they also highlighted some cultural stuff that was just... whack.
I've dated other PoC too and while things didn't work out for other reasons -- personality fit, life stuff -- none of them ever had this specific liability and so the relationships were more straightforward, the communication was more straightforward, and the breakups frankly did not hurt anywhere near as much. But every white person I've dated has been avoidant as hell and seemingly allergic to direct communication, even when they seemed (at first) like they really valued direct communication or even claimed to value it. I don't know what it is. I don't get it. I don't know why these people who can't and won't communicate directly try to date someone as obviously autistic as me. And idek how to screen for it because like... I try. I tell people I need direct communication. They say "yeah I love direct communication!" I think we're doing direct communication. Then they reveal they haven't been and really struggle with it and that it's been causing problems, after I'm super attached.
My parents commented on this when my partner abandoned me out of nowhere actually -- they said "you know, when we came here we thought all the women would be very empowered here because of the propaganda, but we saw a lot of women being really submissive to men and afraid instead! More so than in [home country]!".
And that's something... maybe. Because I really need a partner who's not submissive. I never wanted anyone to be submitting to me, I don't like bossing people around in relationships but several white exes seem to have just folded in this weird way and experienced me as domineering anyway when I really wasn't. My therapist used a more clinical term: "pathological accommodation".
Stealth edit: damn, now that I think about it it's not just people I've dated, it's been friends too, and acquaintances, and strangers. Some sort of pathological aversion to just direct communication about things. Is it all crackers, or is it just because of the State I live in?
At the same time, I hear what you're saying. There's an element to it that feels just very wrong and dehumanizing. Like, don't put us on a pedestal. We're allowed to be messy people. In fact, at least in my case, all the trauma of my family getting hate crimed and discriminated against on the regular because of the Global War on Terror is a big burden and a big challenge of someone being with me -- I've got cPTSD from stuff that the crackers in my life have never had to experience, and I carry a burden they don't viscerally understand.
But almost every white person I've dated has at some point made some comment to me about how "It's nice that you're not white." Then I've been like "wait what?" And they're like, "Yeah, white men? There's something wrong with a lot of them, can't tell you how many white men have sexually harassed me and I don't feel safe with them. But you're not like them in how you act and I love that about you!" One ex straight up said they prefer to date PoC instead of other white people because of that sort of thing.
And then I kind of tried to talk with them about how I didn't feel super comfortable with this topic and there's a lot of challenges that we have to deal with because of the racialized trauma, and I don't want to be held to an unrealistically high standard, and then they sort of back off and clam up and it doesn't come up again and I think the problem's solved, but maybe they were just being avoidant and not talking about it more because they didn't get the appreciative response they wanted.
Oh my god. Is that fetishization? That's low-key fetishization isn't it? What the hell. What the HELL?!
I might be having some realizations right now as I type this up. Or a mental breakdown. Why does everything hurt so much?
100% hear you on the problem with applying racial filters to whom you date. I'm super strict with whom I'll date too and feel like I just have to try to get away with as few filters as possible because the pool of people is so small, and then of those most aren't going to be compatible with me or vice versa for all the normal reasons people aren't compatible with each other.
9
Angel [any] - 9mon
Honestly, this is totally understandable, and I'm so sorry that you had to go through such messy mayo moments. If it weren't for my dating pool already being so small, I could see a case for cutting out goddamn fucking crackers myself, which is why I mentioned the point in the 3rd paragraph.
But to give a clear example of what I mean when it comes to restriction: I'm only open to dating someone who is vegan, doesn't drink or do drugs, and is aligned with me politically in some way (though I'm not super strict or sectarian when it comes to this. For instance, as an ML, I'm not closed off to other kinds of Marxists and even anarchists.)
Though I wouldn't be shocked to find POC who check these boxes, the problem is that these things are rare in the general population, so because POC are a minority, I could be losing a ton of potential partners if I take out the honkies. However, as always, I still approach the cracKKKas with caution.

I think its better to stow them away as it doesn't help my community

Live Action Lilo & Stitch killed the mainland tourist joke. The fat white guy with the ice cream is now a Native Hawaiian man eating a dessert that’s more popular on the island. The entire joke was that it was a clueless, white mainland tourist who always looked lost.

I get an answer from the job in a bit over an hour; my anxiety is slamming me in the face right now.
I try to handle it "rationally" by saying, "Look at it this way: regardless of which answer they give, your life either stays the same or it gets better! There is no negative impact, no matter how you look at it."
However, emotionally, it isn't that way. The feeling that there is a CHANCE that I can finally be over the stress of job hunting is heavy as shit. Being told "yes" is my ticket to that, and being told "no" is being told "Continue going through job hunting limbo." I already feel like getting to the interview stage has been hard enough.
To give some grace, I do think the interview went quite well, and when I walked in there, I saw 3 Black women. The man who interviewed me is also not white. I know damn well that racial bias is super prevalent among hiring managers, so at least there's that, but obviously, that doesn't guarantee shit. I've had majority Black-employed jobs that I'm more than qualified for turn me down anyway.
Either way, I'm making some vegan tortas later. Depending on the outcome, it's either a celebratory meal or a "cheering myself up" meal.
Honestly it's probably for the best. So many red flags. Interviewer is late, asking you about a form he didn't send, straight up admitting he doesn't read all resumes (how did he pick who to interview then?), telling you to call to find out whether or not you got the job, and constantly dodged your calls.
Most jobs are bad enough without all of those red flags during the interview process, I can only imagine how bad it might have been if you did get hire. Hope your other interview goes/went well though!

I see libs saying Canada's tariffs will hurt the vulnerable in America. Though true, and I wouldn't wish suffering on less fortunate, this coming from them has me looking like mfs don't cheer on putting sanctions on far poorer countries all the time.
12
thelastaxolotl [he/him] - 9mon
They probably only say that because canadian tariffs will hurt them, since i think ontario supplies energy to quite a few blue states
10
vegeta1 [he/him] - 9mon
On god all the times I hear em gloating about cuba and Venezuela going through siege, Its more than likely about the treats more than the vulnerable people.

vegeta1 [he/him] - 9mon
I remember mandem glad that they took Afghan forex and frozen funds while the average person there was in deep problems. There were reports of people selling organs to feed family. This coming from peoples who have enough time to be occupied with goofy capeshit culture wars as legit problems with no perspective on true suffering.
9
CommunistCuddlefish [she/her] - 9mon
Yeah, so many people I've seen complaining about the Canada tariffs praised the Iran sanctions so I don't take them seriously
To be more accurate, what is he arguing against? Obviously, against western sanctions, if not tariffs.
4
vegeta1 [he/him] - 9mon
Mostly the hypocrisy of it in this regard. I've seen embargoes, sanctions etc ruin countless lives and now that these guys will feel their pockets pinched on their treats (lets be honest they don't give a damn about the poorer folks there) all of a sudden there is apprehension to it. And there is a layer to it that this is all in retaliation from a country their potus is threatening and is itself a western country that makes this an interesting dynamic.

thelastaxolotl [he/him] - 9mon
I used to think the leftcoms who both sides the genocide in palestine were just annoying dogmatists but it turns out many of them are just supremacists who hate brown people
Now they are defending calling victims of genocide slurs

thelastaxolotl [he/him] - 9mon
I missed 2 struggle sessions today lol, watching aoe2 matches was definetly a better way to pass the time
11
Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 9mon
I always fall asleep right before Hexbear decides to have a struggle session. Then when I see one going on, I feel like it's people getting too online. Call out shitty takes when you see them, but then move on. The person is either going to correct their opinion or ignore you. You can't control the actions of others, especially on the internet. There's no point in typing out a bunch of rebuttals because it's easier to spout bullshit.
I still see some crackers on here from a few struggle sessions ago who seemed to have learned nothing, only that they should be less vocal with their shitty opinions. The shitty opinions still remain, despite the number of people trying to educate and explain.
14
Rojo27 [he/him] - 9mon
I'm ok with this lol. I always seem to miss struggle sessions also except for the one that happened a few months ago and that one was enough for me.
yep, they play on the definitive edition, the channel T90 is one that casts most of them, last tournament was the Garrison, it was pretty good

::: spoiler [CW: Racism and Islamophobia]
That "anti-white racism" guy on the Discord will literally not shut the fuck up about the subject. Everyone else has moved past this subject, even those who agree with him, but he keeps bugging me about the fact that I don't validate some concept of "anti-white racism." He said this today:
When someone makes an absolute claim which I know is patently false, I'll always go against it, regardless of the topic. Has nothing to do with you. Has nothing to do with the topic. You're simply wrong and everybody else can see it. You could change your stance ya know, it's not a sign of weakness. Progression is a positive thing.
I'm honestly thinking about leaving this server. I'm tired of it for a multitude of reasons.
The guy this post is about chimed in with an epic funny when someone joked that we should settle this over a fight:
this fight is going to last longer than the "genocide" in palestine
I couldn't take the hypocrisy of this guy anymore, so I responded by saying
So a black guy who constantly complains about racism and anti-Black jokes [rightfully so] denies an overt instance of ethnic cleansing
Beautiful irony ✨️
Then the conversation turned into this:
Him: ethnic cleansing how lmao ik you're not pro-palestine stop the grift lmao
Me: I am undoubtedly pro-Palestine and the fact that this is shocking to you shows how myopic you are and how little you understand this subject
Him: that's crazy, I can understand being sympathetic to innocent deaths but pro-Palestinians go beyond basic empathy and call for the eradication of Jews
Me: Right. Because the only way that Jewish people can NOT be eradicated is if they engage in a settler-colonial project where they wipe out a lot of an Indigenous people, including the children. And we're supposed to just let that happen?
Him: There's been offers of peace, and the Muslims were like "NO, NO JEWS, NO WAY, MINE MINE MINE, GET OUT, WE KILL" so things will persist
Me: Israel literally recently broke the ceasefire through an extremely deadly attack
Him: GOOD, eradicate Hamas. if muslim ideology is laced with violent hate then I say it's not a religion that should be allowed access to violence, freedom of religion, birth, nothing really, now the indoctrinated innocents, I feel for them
Reminder that this guy said, "I agree with the left on every subject except for Palestine." He actually holds himself to be a leftist (obviously he's not).

This guy seems really suspicious. If everyone has moved on from the topic, bringing it up again comes across as trolling at best.
Again, zionism is the antisemitic belief Jews don't belong because they can't assimilate because they can't be trusted. Literally the justification used for the Holocaust. The Palestinians are not the ones who came up with this, yet they are the ones being punished for having it forced on them. They were getting along just fine for centuries with other faiths in Jerusalem until the British decided to export antisemitism abroad instead of dealing with it at home.
The "if Muslim ideology is laced with violent hate" really gets under my skin because it's so wildly off base and wrong. Islam is the only one of the three Abrahamic religions that's explicit about recognizing the other two as kin. There's a lot of rules about how they're supposed to treat Christians and Jews, even when Christians and Jews wrong them. Hamas has shown itself as adhering to these rules demonstrated by the fact they returned hostages alive and well with Isreal being the ones who killed more Israelis.
This guy seems really suspicious. If everyone has moved on from the topic, bringing it up again comes across as trolling at best.
On this guy, I think a befitting quote is this.
“Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, and open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.” (…) If then (…), the anti-Semite is impervious to reason and to experience, it is not because his conviction is strong. Rather his conviction is strong because he has chosen first of all to be impervious.”

Meanwhile Zionist ideology manifesting in nothing other than violent hate, destruction, murder, and the silencing of criticism all over the world is perfectly fine. Ironic that the most indoctrinated are the ones who throw around the word so carelessly, but I wouldn't call him "innocent." If you are aware of the genocide and your reaction is anything other than abject horror, you get the wall, no excuses. The world is better off with you as a stain.

Any other Latin Americans on here get annoyed when US mestizos claim to be indigenous? They usually have no idea what groups they’re descended from (likely a mix of several) and talk about the indigenous people like they’re some mystic creature. Even the indigenous groups here don’t consider meztisos to be one of them. But it’s a popular narrative with Americans and I see it all the time when discussing Latin America online that we’re all indigenous. We aren’t. We’re majority settler-colonial like the rest of North and South America. We just happen to be more mixed.
Guatemala where I live is a great example of this. The average American and even the average mestizo in Guatemala thinks we’re all Mayan while the Mayans themselves say otherwise. They see it as their culture being appropriated by the same mestizos continuing to view them as backwards and stupid.
8
thelastaxolotl [he/him] - 9mon
Yea, i mostly see it with chicanos and some mexican nationalists, they like claim aztec ancestry (its porfirio diaz fault), while they disregard indigenous people from the US and México
6
Rojo27 [he/him] - 9mon
This was something I did when I was elementary school lol. I can't really remember why, but I guess learning about indigenous people left a deep impression on my young mind.
In so far as my own experience within my community, its hard to really say because Tainos were pretty much wiped out completely, so there really any Tainos or direct enough descendants to really look at things in the same way. I guess whatever people do to try and study and preserve the culture is something that I appreciate since it'd be sad if even the history and culture of Tainos fades away. And I'm sure there are people that'll claim a deep connection to Tainos that I would consider in a similar regard to what you're talking about.

Some of these westerners are dumb mfs. They keep saying shit like "go to Gaza " if you think palestinians shouldn't be massacred. Why is it never "go to iraq at the height of its war" or "go go the meat grinder of ukraine" since they believe in "freedom"

I'm having social anxiety in a situation and need advice.
I hung out with someone for the first time. They shared how they're racist towards me without knowing that's what they're doing.
They also said if China claims Taiwan it's an invasion. But if the US claims Taiwan and installs a military base "it's commerce."
They then, completely unprompted, started asking me if I've ever been to the mental hospital. Which is seriously disrespectful.
When i said thats personal information, he asked me where I live.
This was just a stranger at the at the park whose dog I was petting. He was around a whole picnic of people. Before he said all this, the crowd offered me food which I accepted. He then introduced me to the crowd. Then he said all that offensive stuff while we were away from the crowd with his dog.
They have weekly picnics at the park. I want nothing to do with him. Because he's my introduction to the crowd, the vibes there are shit and I don't want anything to do with them either. I didn't really talk to anyone else. I don't want to look passive aggressive by ignoring everyone without them knowing why I'm ignoring them. I also want to walk past them all in peace without having to talk to them. If the offensive guy tries to talk to me, what could I say to him? If the people from the crowd try to talk to me, what could I say to them?
7
Rojo27 [he/him] - 9mon
Honestly I haven't really been in this type of situation just because I usually just avoid people anyway lol. But I would think its fine if you keep things to a greeting. It sounds like its early enough in this situation where I wouldn't think the group as a whole would take offense if you keep some distance. As for the person themself, I would just tell him that you can't really speak at the moment and keep moving. Maybe he'll take a hint and cut things off there.
Honestly, just had to tell some people who'd get it.
CW because it may come off as cracker ignorance to y'all... of course, don't attack him or anything. Just venting frustration mostly.

Belly_Beanis [he/him] - 9mon
It does kind of read like finding excuses for racism. "I'm not defending racism, but I'm going to defend racism." It's white defensiveness. As a cishet, I try and come at LGBTQ+ issues the same way I'd want white people to come at POC issues, which is knowing when to shut the fuck up. It's okay to not voice an opinion or just listen to people vent.
Although commenting on a conversation I'm not part of probably demonstrates the opposite, so I'll go back to "shut the fuck up" mode 😭

@Ath3ro@hexbear.net took me a while to write it down but here it is for my last batch did it twice for this
::: spoiler the most useless recipe because I winged it
Okay got these big calabazas that I basically took the seeds out cut and steamed until soft. I let them cool then made it into a mush and added some pumpkin spice (made mine but you can buy it too) until it tasted good and left that to cool
The bread part I boiled a piloncillo in 6 cups water with a cinnamon stick and some anise. Once that was cool I strained the anise out. For the bread I mixed 6 cups flour with 2 tsp salt and 2 packets of instant yeast. I used 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil and 3 tbps ground flax seed prepped with 9 tbps water for the egg part. For the piloncillo water I did like until it looked good prob 1.25 cups. I mixed it until it was nice and assembled them. Greased a pan with shortening and brushed them with a bit of shortening on top
I put them to cook at 400 F for like 20-30 minutes.
:::
::: spoiler final note
yeah I give garbage instructions but the main take away is flax ground seed instead of egg and the piloncillo water is for several batches so refrigerate it since it keeps well. I could have shaved the piloncillo down but this was easier for me.

EM & PoC bi-weekly thread 10/03/2025 and 17/03/2025
Hello my PoC nerds
Remember no Crackers

Just dealt with some people arguing that "anti-white racism is real" in a Discord I'm a part of. Ay, ay, ay...
One of their arguments brought up is how some white people have historically held and still currently hold negative sentiments about Irishmen, Italians, Slavs, and Ashkenazi Jews, but this isn't "anti-white racism."
This would be like saying it's "misandry" and "man-hating" for a hypermasculine gymbro to make fun of another guy for being effeminate.
Anti-white racism doesn't exist because "white" doesn't exist, it was made up legitimize European racism. Asian is a derivative of being from the Asia region. Black was created because our histories and ethnicities were stripped from us. If they wanna argue they should argue with their grandparents.
I brought this up, too.
CracKKKers wanna be oppressed so bad.
If anything they should be mad their ethnicities were also stolen and put into whatever "white" is. But no
This is always a tell when whities identify being white more than being European (which is 100% of the time). They have an ethnicity, one that hasn't had its language destroyed, its gods murdered, and its land colonized, yet they want the benefits of whiteness so they ignore all of that.
Yeah thays pretty much what whiteness is: unified belief and adhesion for settler-colonialist violence. If your group perpetuates that violence, it becomes part of whiteness, while the groups who are subjected to violence are excluded.
We're preaching to the choir, though lol.
It's a tragedy really. And some prominent Jewish voices either don't care enough, or are also zionist themselves, either way the zionist win.
Deport white supremacists to the bottom of the ocean.
I wish the rest of us had as much political influence as they do. Even when we do get killed, or attacked, or whatever all we get are shrugs.
Yeah this is something that bothers me to this day. And for all of the supposed progress and complaints about that progress (cancel culture, wokeness, etc) it feels like all the typical "Get yourself a insert empoc partner" is still pervasive.
Facts. Its way too normalised. I have several horror stories on the experiences I've seen or heard on this bullshit on top of an endless fucking ravine of bullshit. Interacting with people almost makes me miss being back in war. In a sick way at least there the ugliness is upfront.
vegeta1 lore?
Lets just say I have views about humanity as a whole that will not be compatible with most of this site for a reason. But I'll just keep them to myself because then you'll wonder why I'm even on this site.
I think its better to stow them away as it doesn't help my community
Live Action Lilo & Stitch killed the mainland tourist joke. The fat white guy with the ice cream is now a Native Hawaiian man eating a dessert that’s more popular on the island. The entire joke was that it was a clueless, white mainland tourist who always looked lost.
oh yea i saw that, also the aliens Jumba and Pleakley intead of using cheap disguises are going to use digital ones that make them look like normal actors ignoring the joke about the disguises being bad
Oof. A lotta jokes to be killed.
I've more often logged into my .ml account since we get less content now that we're temporarily not federated, but when I log into it I go on All because I haven't gone through the effort of subscribing to communities.
Anyway, I noticed that .world literally has a 4chan community and a conservative community. Just wild.
fun fact, one of the most known anti-hexbear powerposters from world is also a mod from one of the conservative comms
world just wants to be reddit without ads for the moment
Which one? PugJesus?
Nah some other one
Any update?
https://hexbear.net/post/4474671?scrollToComments=false
Honestly it's probably for the best. So many red flags. Interviewer is late, asking you about a form he didn't send, straight up admitting he doesn't read all resumes (how did he pick who to interview then?), telling you to call to find out whether or not you got the job, and constantly dodged your calls.
Most jobs are bad enough without all of those red flags during the interview process, I can only imagine how bad it might have been if you did get hire. Hope your other interview goes/went well though!
Aww fuck...
Hope it goes better next time
I see libs saying Canada's tariffs will hurt the vulnerable in America. Though true, and I wouldn't wish suffering on less fortunate, this coming from them has me looking
like mfs don't cheer on putting sanctions on far poorer countries all the time.
They probably only say that because canadian tariffs will hurt them, since i think ontario supplies energy to quite a few blue states
On god all the times I hear em gloating about cuba and Venezuela going through siege, Its more than likely about the treats more than the vulnerable people.
Siege liberalism "we have to pay more for treats now"
I remember mandem glad that they took Afghan forex and frozen funds while the average person there was in deep problems. There were reports of people selling organs to feed family. This coming from peoples who have enough time to be occupied with goofy capeshit culture wars as legit problems with no perspective on true suffering.
Yeah, so many people I've seen complaining about the Canada tariffs praised the Iran sanctions so I don't take them seriously
What are you arguing in favor of?
To be more accurate, what is he arguing against? Obviously, against western sanctions, if not tariffs.
I used to think the leftcoms who both sides the genocide in palestine were just annoying dogmatists but it turns out many of them are just supremacists who hate brown people
Now they are defending calling victims of genocide slurs
Jfc I should know better than to click on those sites. Just deplorable people and the both sides means they really side with you know who
I missed 2 struggle sessions today lol, watching aoe2 matches was definetly a better way to pass the time
I always fall asleep right before Hexbear decides to have a struggle session.
I'm ok with this lol. I always seem to miss struggle sessions also except for the one that happened a few months ago and that one was enough for me.
wdym 2? Besides the "ACAB includes {certain jobs}" struggle sesh, what was the other?
one about bicycles, check the modlog for the locked post
Ah jaysus wept.
Can I guess?
Bicycles are bourgeois decadence. Proletarians use unicycles.
Or maybe they are too individualist and proletarians use those big group ones!
Oh I'll have to check that one out. Spent most of yesterday offline.
There was a struggle session over the ACAB joke?
It comes from this post
That entire thread is one giant meme.
nah, the struggle session lead to the acab jokes
There’s an esport for AOE2? Where?
yep, they play on the definitive edition, the channel T90 is one that casts most of them, last tournament was the Garrison, it was pretty good
Brb about to burn hours watching this stuff
The job interview went way better than the last one.
I get an answer either tomorrow or Monday.
Allegedly.
::: spoiler [CW: Racism and Islamophobia] That "anti-white racism" guy on the Discord will literally not shut the fuck up about the subject. Everyone else has moved past this subject, even those who agree with him, but he keeps bugging me about the fact that I don't validate some concept of "anti-white racism." He said this today:
I'm honestly thinking about leaving this server. I'm tired of it for a multitude of reasons.
The guy this post is about chimed in with an epic funny when someone joked that we should settle this over a fight:
I couldn't take the hypocrisy of this guy anymore, so I responded by saying
Then the conversation turned into this:
Reminder that this guy said, "I agree with the left on every subject except for Palestine." He actually holds himself to be a leftist (obviously he's not). :::
On this guy, I think a befitting quote is this.
taps the emoji
Kinda just proves anti white racism is just their feelings getting hurt cause he can't let it go.
Yea, i mostly see it with chicanos and some mexican nationalists, they like claim aztec ancestry (its porfirio diaz fault), while they disregard indigenous people from the US and México
Honestly I haven't really been in this type of situation just because I usually just avoid people anyway lol. But I would think its fine if you keep things to a greeting. It sounds like its early enough in this situation where I wouldn't think the group as a whole would take offense if you keep some distance. As for the person themself, I would just tell him that you can't really speak at the moment and keep moving. Maybe he'll take a hint and cut things off there.

Deadass?
Next full song conceptualized
I sat on a few drafts and I definitely think this one will become the greatest...
So far I'm already at 23 minutes of debut album material written. I'm aiming for it to be between 40 and 50.
Out of pure boredom, I challenged myself to write a 10-string guitar riff that sounds good...
I think I passed?
10-string guitars add 4 lower strings to the standard 6 string set.
The lowest string is a G♯₀, which is 3 semitones lower than what you'd get on the low B₀ that a 5-string bass has. This sounds disgustingly low.
They're usually the "lowest" that guitars go, and they're rare as shit. You're not really out here seeing 11-strings at all.
Talent.... This is what happens when I try to make a track
Thank you!
Am I being too sensitive for this thread rubbing me the wrong way?
Honestly, just had to tell some people who'd get it.
CW because it may come off as cracker ignorance to y'all... of course, don't attack him or anything. Just venting frustration mostly.
So crispy pan fried noodles need to be eaten within a broth/soup, right? They're fucking inedible by themselves.
I'm just high and I ordered the wrong damn thing.
I usually put a lot of soy sauce on mine, but I'm pretty sure this is just American brain worms giving me a messed up pallette. They're good with broccoli and tofu mixed in? IDK.
@Ath3ro@hexbear.net took me a while to write it down but here it is for my last batch did it twice for this ::: spoiler the most useless recipe because I winged it Okay got these big calabazas that I basically took the seeds out cut and steamed until soft.
