They/them? Shouldn't it be GNU/Linux

Fun fact the Debian logo is based on Buzz Lightyears chin hair.

That is because Debian was made for the render farm for Toy Story.

That is because Debian was made for the render farm for Toy Story.

I don't think this is true. Debian was first released in 1993. Toy Story was released in 1995. Debian was created by Ian Murdock. He created by the name Debian by combining his name with his at-the-time girlfriend's name, Debra Lynn. The Toy Story theme was chosen by Lead Developer Bruce Perens in 1996, at the release of Debian 1.1, because Perens had also worked at Pixar.

https://wiki.debian.org/ToyStory

Debian was one of the earliest GNU/Linux distros and it was foundational in the Free Software movement. Debian was founded on the principles of the Free Software movement. FSF sponsored Debian for 1 year from 1994 to 1995. It was not created as some cutesy corporate side project.

Yea I misworded that sentance. Debian was used in the render farm for Toy Story. Thanks for correcting me. Cant let little details like that be wrong because people are always so quick to point it out.

Debian was used in the render farm for Toy Story

This is not true. According to SunWorld Magazine (November 1995 issue). Toy Story was render on Sun Microsystem computers, likely using software made by Sun Microsystems. These computers had SPARC processors. Debian did not support the use of SPARC processors until version 2.1 in 1999. That means it is impossible for Toy Story to have been rendered using Debian.

It's not a minor correction. It is highly disrespectful to attribute the accomplishments of Debian and the Free Software movement to Pixar, one of the largest copyright giants.___

Oh thanks again for pointing out how I am wrong again! I swear I read somewhere or saw an interview that they used machines running Debian in some part of the render process. Its almost like I cant get anything right today. I should probably have you fact check my comments in the future. Seeing as you are doing such a good job at it.

this is either some designer being lazy or a designer being a genius because they knew a lot of transfems would recognize the Debian like packaging and be drawn to this brand more
