StudSpud The Starchy - 2w

I have a trial shift tomorrow at a cattery!

14
Bottom_racer - 2w

Nice one!

Give all the kitties a pat for us, even the arsehole ones (bring savlon in case that's a bad idea).

7
Catfish - 2w

Yay! Put some nip in your socks ๐Ÿ˜ฝ

7
StudSpud The Starchy - 2w

6
LowExperience2368 - 2w

Yay!!!

5
Force_majeure112 @lemmy.world - 2w

Put your nips in a bra please

5
StudSpud The Starchy - 2w

How dare you tell me where I can put my nips

6
PeelerSheila - 2w

Dang it, now I've got this song stuck in my head and it's really not appropriate at all ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

2
bacon - 2w

Cover yourself with nips

4
StudSpud The Starchy - 2w

I will become one with the nip

4
LowExperience2368 - 2w

My grandma went down to the beach with her sibling and they saw a koala. Thought you bunch might appreciate the cuteness.

11
imoldgreeeg - 2w

I decided to do a "fuck it I'm going to get whatever I want" supermarket run.

Now, this is probably a weeks worth of food with a few treats, nothing extravagant. ( a whole block of cheese instead 500gm, some bacon, some apples and nectarines).

And all the cat stuff for about half a week.

Two hundred and ten fucking dollars! I'm one person!!! I don't even eat that much!!!!!!!!

Plus a bakers dozen or so of cats. The strays stuff cost around 35 a week so it's not a huge deal at the moment.

Man. Never going to woollies or Coles again. Fucking aldi convert right here.

10
SaneMartigan - 2w

I'm getting my stray cat food from Savemore, ie cheaper by miles.

10
Gibsonhasafluffybutt - 2w

I have no idea what that is but thanks for the tip. I'll look into it.

3
Catfish - 2w

Cheaper Buy Miles is the insane cheese crack house I get full multi kilo wheels for $10! There are 4, all west side. Fucking go there.

6
TheWitchofThornbury2 - 2w

Also one on the corner of Johnson & Brunswick streets in Fitzroy. Cheeee selection is probably not as good, but has vast quantities of alternative 'milks'.

4
Catfish - 2w

Yeah, they are huge on vegan stuff. Personally don't need it but great to know where to grab if guests do.

3
Gibsonhasafluffybutt - 2w

Holy shit here we go!!!!!

Thanks for the heads up :)

3
Catfish - 2w

Yikes! Just did $120 for two. Doesn't include cat fud though, that's prescription stuff.

5
Gibsonhasafluffybutt - 2w

I eat the same thing most days as well (because I only cook properly if there's someone else around)

Oats Fruit Tuna Frozen veggies Some variety of meat

That's pretty much it.

4
Catfish - 2w

Yeah, I don't cook about half the week because Boyo is on 2nd shift. Stuff that ups the spendiness is razors, his fancy conditioner, or letting me loose in the deli ๐Ÿ˜บ

5
Seagoon_ - 2w

if you have a car no reason to go to colesworth

5
melbaboutown - 2w

The generic wet food from Woolies and Coles is pretty solid and nutritionally complete at less than $2 a can. (Used to be 80c.) The Woolies passes AAFCO regulations.

However YMMV - the fish flavour is full of bones which means a high phosphorus content which is hard on cats kidneys. Melbcatโ€™s kidney disease values improved after I switched her off it to a low phosphorus food

3
Rusty Raven - 2w

I just realised I've spent the whole day with my name tag on upside down.

9
LowExperience2368 - 2w

YarraByte joined me out where we met sister's work friend and his friend. They made lots of references I didn't get because they're old. YarraByte just nodded along. Anyway. Took a Siemens train for the first time and the handles are interesting. Passed two level crossings. Kind of weird they're still there in such an area with busy traffic.

Someone's work function bought too many drinks and we got a free one which was cool. That's my night.

8
Seagoon_ - 2w

I have been listening to Project Hail Mary.

I like how a story where the main character defines himself as a sighted being starts with the main character waking up and his only sense is hearing.

7
melbaboutown - 2w

I should go read that when I have focus

4
Seagoon_ - 2w

audiobook ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

2
Force_majeure112 @lemmy.world - 2w

I'm going through a re-listening right now ๐Ÿ™Œ

3
Seagoon_ - 2w

It's a terrific story. ๐Ÿคœ

People who live in apartments, do you hear your neighbours or do they hear you? I'm considering moving into one some day, but if I can hear the neighbours' every move and they can hear mine, it's a no from me. Staying over in one and I can hear doors slamming, noises I'd rather not hear.

7
Force_majeure112 @lemmy.world - 2w

I've lived in many apartments and it's quite variable. I agree with Seagoon it depends on construction. Currently I don't hear a damn thing even if in the hallway can hear my neighbours loud music. I've also lived in an apartment where I could hear my upstairs neighbours footsteps, my across-the-hall neighbours' wailing (he was quite unwell), and it had double height, full wall glass as the outside wall, and I could hear the voices of people on the street. That apartment almost drove me insane and I had to break the lease and leave early and significant cost.

9
Catfish - 2w

Townhouses count? One side I can hear on the stairs (must be a mech warrior to stomp like that!) other side occasional arguments and some plumbing noises. The lonely dog in the next block is more annoying.

7
Gibsonhasafluffybutt - 2w

+1 mechwarrior reference

4
Gibsonhasafluffybutt - 2w

Hate apartments but I'm bias because I can't have my studio in an apartment.

Plus I grew up in public housing ghetto apartment block.

Yeah it's probably more the 2nd one now that I think about it.

Edit: Closer consideration, a unit or town house would be awesome. Just not people above or below me.

Freaks me the fuck out.

6
Seagoon_ - 2w

it really depends on the construction

5
StudSpud The Starchy - 2w

I live in an apartment. I think I lucked out, I can't hear my neighbours in their apartments; just in the building hallway. I can hear Sydney Road more clearly than I can hear my neighbours lol

I am on the top floor though, but I've never ever received any complaint about being loud.

I'm used to apartment living though, I got used to running into my neighbours and the general noise level of Brunswick. I feel safer than if I was in a house, less likely to be robbed.

5
imoldgreeeg - 2w

Not in my current apartment but it's a bit unusual in construction. Previously yes. It's never really bothered me, if it's a nice enough place I find it kinda nice to hear people around.

3
Rusty Raven - 2w

Anthony Albanese just got married. It's never even occured to me to wonder what his relationship status was. But some part of me feels like the Prime Minister getting married should be some sort of State event, like when royalty gets married and everyone watches on tv and has a big parade ๐Ÿคฃ

7
Pilk - 2w

Scomo would've televised it.

6
Rusty Raven - 2w

It probably would have been in a big church too, as opposed to at home with a celebrant. Although 'at home' when you are living in The Lodge hits a bit different.

5
Seagoon_ - 2w

I hope they are happy.

Happy politicians can't be a bad thing.

4
Seagoon_ - 2w

awake early, kitchen cleaned, breakfast had , cats fed, some antifever meds to counter the effects of the vaccinations

now I might go back to bed

6
Catfish - 2w

I'm awake. It's wet.

6
StudSpud The Starchy - 2w

I'm wet. It's awake.

Wait

5
Catfish - 2w

That could be fun...

4
Gibsonhasafluffybutt - 2w

I have the rain and the cat snoring in Dolby surround sound

4
Catfish - 2w

Your cat is double branded?

4
Seagoon_ - 2w

good night everyone, sweet dreams ๐Ÿ˜˜

6
Rusty Raven - 2w

The second coat of primer has just been done on the mower. Two top coats to go on over the next two days, then it should be right to put the new blade on and do a grass trim in the next lot of dry days. I figure even if the rust has not been completely removed/neutralised there should be enough paint to hold it together.

6
imoldgreeeg - 2w

Stomach a bit crook today but did a rubbish round of the apartment, a load of dishes and got some groceries. Early dinner. I wanted to tackle the clean laundry pile but I think I might crawl into bed. 6:30 is a legit bedtime isn't it?

6
Seagoon_ - 2w

if you have to sleep , then sleep

6
Seagoon_ - 2w

lol

loved the one where they stapled a guy's tie to his desk

4
Bottom_racer - 2w

lol.

I suppose what Germans lack in humour they make up for with wtf.

4
Force_majeure112 @lemmy.world - 2w

You reckon I can rock up to Vodafone in the cbd and take home a modem and plug and play my Internet today? Or would they make me get it delivered

6
Force_majeure112 @lemmy.world - 2w

The answer is that yes, I can do that โ˜บ๏ธ

4
bacon - 2w

tell them you are the delivery guy

4
Gibsonhasafluffybutt - 2w

Is this for 5g at home?

3
Force_majeure112 @lemmy.world - 2w

Yeh

3
melbaboutown - 2w

Thanks for the thread Low!

6
LowExperience2368 - 2w

No worries!

3
Alamutjones - 2w

Iโ€™m off to the gym this morning.

5
Taleya - 2w

aww yiss. Got my hands on a symfonisk and am coding alter sounds into home assistant. Already have the standard cat food alarm (meow meow beenz upvote from Community, they are extremely familiar with this one and make watching that ep chaotic to say the least) but what for the "tea is ready" button?

Perhaps Mrs. Doyle from father ted nagging people for tea. Plus then I also get to steal content from a piece of shit transphobe

Welcome for any other spectacular suggestions. Currently hunting Matt Berrys

5
Taleya - 2w

bloody hhell I haven't heard that for years

Although now I'm considering Bernard Cribbins' right, said Fred

2
TheWitchofThornbury2 - 2w

That would do just fine I think.

2
Taleya - 2w

2
Taleya - 2w

I found the three little pigs from shrek XD "ooo ze tea is ready!!"

3
Taleya - 2w

fresh hell of being married to me: When His Lordship tries to sneak in on the wee hours after being out later than he intended, precisely seven seconds after the front door opens (enough for him to get in and put his keys down) the speaker system will start playing Hail to the chief at him.

on kazoos.

5
LowExperience2368 - 2w

That sounds beautiful.

4
Seagoon_ - 2w

nooo, have the sound of a cat chucking up

3
Taleya - 2w

that's the alarm clock

6
Seagoon_ - 2w

it definitely is ...lol

3
melbaboutown - 2w

Not much got done today. I did laundry and lots of folding last night but today I had someone over and then spent the rest napping.

I found a guide on how to fix my backpack strap but donโ€™t have any nylon fabric. Black denim would probably do but I donโ€™t have anything Iโ€™m willing to cut up.

I took a walk and am wondering if I should go back to using some really really light weights.

I watched some free movies on YouTube. I should do some art practice but donโ€™t know what to do.

Melbcat is being a snuggle bug so I have to give kisses

5
StudSpud The Starchy - 2w

I have yet to do laundry. So you're far far ahead of me. I'm proud of you! And melbcat loves you so all is well :3

3
tombruzzo - 2w

First day of swimming class where we don't have to be in the water with the kids. It will be nice to stay dry but we'll see how smooth things go

4
Rusty Raven - 2w

It is always annoying when my daily Squardle puzzle is not square. False advertising!

I love Mickey. I can kiss his belly all I want, I can manhandle him as long as it's in service of belly kisses.

But as soon as I use my hands to stroke his belly, all hell breaks loose.

His chaos amuses me.

4
Seagoon_ - 2w

listening to the ABC of Relativity continues , much repeating of points and chapters until it gets in my thick head

okay, I;m up to non Euclidean geometry now, I'm ok with it but need a rest
