Crackling ham. Never heard of it till I saw it at aldi. Covered the bottom in whiskey marmalade and the missus made a little foil nappy for it so it steamed in marmalade while the crackling did it's thing.

Was a total hit, boss lady and kid both loved it. Gotta get another one before they go away. The best part is that it's ham, not roast, so there's no need to worry about cooking the meat properly, you just cook for the crackling and the meat is along for the ride. 😉

I make hams for Christmas, I'm going to add caramelized onions & whiskey to the pans... now I gotta get some pork belly for the cracklings!

I love ham season. I like to keep one cold and carved up for snacking on, and another that I'll usually add a bit of smoke to and then glaze with something sweet and spicy, usually some sort of jam or preserves, maybe a bit of brown sugar, and a healthy dollop of Frank's Red Hot! 😋

it's finally getting cold here and that's ham season for us as well!
Spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were pre-made from Tomysugo. It was super nice, but i probably won't have them again. $18 for 11-12 meatballs in sauce, too much for a dinner at home, those are Peppermint Grove/Vaucluse prices.
