In the bodycam footage of the callout, released to Guardian Australia by police, Kardell is withdrawn, fearful and cowering. The perpetrator yells abuse at her. Before she is led out of the agency and into the back of a police wagon, in which police place her to drive her to her aunty’s place, she appears to have heard this message loud and clear.
So this guy yells abuse at her with the police in her presence and they do nothing? These are the most nicest police I've ever seen, and to treat an aboriginal man so well!
The only thing that annoys me is that the article doesn't cover what solutions can really be provided
She's living at home with a violent dickhead, first thing switch centrelink payments back to her name but it sounds like she didn't have anywhere to go anyway? No friends or family to stay with?
I also don't understand why the guy wasn't arrested when he was clearly physically abusing her. Did the police attempt to push charges but she didn't want to go forward with it?
