Because I deal mostly with clients I need a second Sim card or a piece of shit hand me down from work to use.

So I asked the other day and they bought me a new galaxy s25!

I don't know even know what to say at this point honestly.

10
Eagle - 1mon

I'm so glad you're being valued!

6
Gibsonhasafluffybutt - 1mon

It's a fucking weird feeling lol

7
Seagoon_ - 1mon

They value you, your expertise and your work.

And why wouldn't they?

5
LowExperience2368 - 1mon

I hope it's a big company and they aren't lovebombing you. That's cool that they gave you a phone! I have a relative who mostly deals with clients and uses their personal phone. They get calls from 6am everyday and on the weekend. Cherish that work phone!

2
Gibsonhasafluffybutt - 1mon

It's pretty small. There's about 40 or so people.

They're super ethical with clients as well. It's really different.

And yeah I used to use my personal number. Fuck.all.that lol

::: spoiler back pain venting update Woke up very sore this morning so decided it was time to see a GP (had only seen a physio before). As the pain is not worsened / activated by pressing down in the sore area, the GP suspects something deeper than a muscle issue. Got a blood test and x-ray done and some pain meds prescribed, now we wait. I am a little worried about how this is escalating, I really hope it's nothing serious but better to be safe than sorry. I have a physio appointment tomorrow but not sure I will go, I think I want to rule out a deeper issue via the GP first.

Meanwhile my work is piling up and I'm now realising running a business solo, how exposed I am if I am unable to work because of my health. :::

9
SpinMeRound - 1mon

So glad you've gone to a GP and I hope you get answers quick! In the mean time may the meds give you some relief, but still don't push it! I'd skip the physio until you've spoken to the GP again.

Some men wonder why their partners don't have sex with them much.

I'm here to tell those men, they need to cook dinner more often. It's in the Top 5 Actions that make men hot.

In unrelated news, my hot man is hotly cooking pork crackling for dinner, which he will then hotly turn into noodles with bok choy.

Second round interview is done! It sounds like a great place to work, tbh, and I think I made a good impression on them as well :3

My favourite pair of jeggings got a massive tear, seam to seam, across the knee. So I've cut the legs off, and hemming them to turn them into a cute pair of summer shorts :3

4

That you did this rather than auto piff tells much. Good job!

4
StudSpud The Starchy - 1mon

Thank you! I have a row of back stitching to do above the hem I did, and then I'll trim the excess.

I love altering and mending over buying new! Especially as these are my fav jeggings and I'm not ready to part with them ๐Ÿ˜‚ I have a skirt that's too large and too small in all the wrong places on me, that has a nice flora pattern - I'll use those to mend the pocket on the jorts I've created ๐Ÿ˜‚

Mr Woof thinks Dynamic lifter is fun-sized manure snacks. As I just spread 25kg of the stuff over the back yard he has been having a great time. I also spread 15kg of gypsum, then decided it's time to call it a day. Tomorrow I have to move the rest of the soil (about 1m^2^) to the back yard, level it off and scatter the grass seeds and a bit of fertilizer. Then it's just a matter of watering the seeds a couple of times a day until it sprouts and I should have lawn.

Edit: My neighbours pigeons approve of the grass seed. Hopefully they don't eat too much!

AITA

went to beach, played with some dogs, talked to some folks, found not many shells :) not a problem

and then the big dog

a big dog heavy came running at me and rammed into me, ok, but owner said nothing

then dog went back to owner

then dog did it again, i hear my spine crunch

I yelled at owner, stop your dog,

"he's just a 12 month puppy, i'm training him, he jumps up ( he did not jump up at all, he rammed )

( she didn't train him at all, she said nothing to her dog )

I'm disabled ( and I am, I have to be careful of my back). Owner acted like she was the victim.

"so am I. don't use that as an excuse"

i said, excuse for what?

she said, this is a dog beach, don't come here

I walked away

one, she didn't train or control her dog

two, it's a local beach, only half the people there have dogs

three, there are lots of different people at the beach

there was an elderly woman on crutches with her dog at the beach 30 minutes earlier, would it have been her fault if she was injured by the uncontrolled dog?

or the mother who was there with a baby in a pram?

i'm pissed

this is the first time I've experienced that at the beach

so my issue is with the owner

7
SaneMartigan - 1mon

NTA. That's when it's time to pull out your phone and take some photos. People's whole attitude about this stuff changes once you start collecting evidence.

10
imoldgreeeg - 1mon

NTA. I have had many active working dogs over the years and sometimes they can be overly energetic when young and stuff up (just like kids). But I would always be there, apologise, get the dog under control and reinforce training. And I watch other people to gauge whether they are up for rambunctiousness (how are they walking, do they have a dog etc) and try to minimise harm before it happens.

Anecdotally I have noticed some terrible socialisation of dogs in the last few years and more and more dipshit owners.

Yes sometimes at a dog beach accidents happen. And yes you can and should expect people to be responsible. I hope your back is ok

6
Seagoon_ - 1mon

thanks for validation

once is an accident, twice is not caring and being irresponsible

I feel like such a karen but I looked up the dog beach laws and the dogs have to be under control at all times. My beef was with the owner , I could see the dog was good natured but just not controlled or trained well. Note I talked to the owner and held her responsible for her dog. I didn't blame the dog at all, didn't yell at the dog, dog was just being a dog. I said No is all.

gees, and I was playing with four dogs at once just 30 minutes before that. ( they were all adorable, especially the very fluffy one who had such short legs it made us laugh when she would run) I really love dogs

I see so many families at the beach. That dog could hurt people.

I'm thinking when the weather improves and it's crowded every day other dog owners will start having a go at this dog owner and they will not put up with her darvo shit.

5
Catfish - 1mon

I had many large dogs as a kid. Biggest would be the Rottie x St Bernard people were scared, reality the most dangerous would be she sat on you

5
Seagoon_ - 1mon

Many years ago I may have been scared. My parents , particularly my mother, did not teach us about dogs, only to be wary. I had to teach myself and now I love dogs and am not scared at all.

4
Catfish - 1mon

As a pup she looked like an Ewok. And I am still annoyed about her pissing on my alarm clock

3

2
Catfish - 1mon

More I objected, was told totally would't happen, and more or less forced to hand it over. Guess what?

1

NTA. That's an awful situation and that woman is an idiot. Her dog will continue to hurt people. I hate that this happened to you!

6
melbaboutown - 1mon

Gone Girl is such a fucked up movie but very cleverly written. 3/5.

7
SpinMeRound - 1mon

The twist was so beautifully executed. And yes, so so so fucked up. I hated the ending though, it made me so angry. (I read the book first and act 2 had me sitting there with my mouth hanging out). Movie got bonus points for the sheer audacity of showing NPH

4

I haven't read the book, but it sounds like its ending made more sense. Rather than the audience feeling sorry for Ben Affleck's character.

I have dirt! I now cannot leave (in the car) until I move said dirt off the driveway.

I have done the mowing of the front yard, so plan of attack for today is to also mow the back yard, then put down fertiliser on the front, gypsum and fertiliser at the back, then start shovelling dirt from front to back. The nature strip and back yard will also be getting new grass seed as both have patchy grass with lot of gaps. It's not expected to rain until Friday night (when I have to go to work again anyway) so I should be ok to take my time, but the sooner it is done the sooner I can put my feet up and congratulate myself on a job well done.

But first, breakfast.

4
Bottom_racer - 1mon

shovelling dirt

Don't envy you.

I always make the mistake of trying to move it quickly.

2
Taleya - 1mon

yaaas PILE!

1
Rusty Raven - 1mon

The front yard is almost complete. The dirt is all down, I just need to sprinkle some grass seeds and water everything in.

The trees over the back fence are now almost all gone. It's a bit weird looking out the back window and just seeing sky.

::: spoiler before & after shots from slightly different angles :::

I can't see anything except sky over the fence if I'm sitting down.

4
Rusty Raven - 1mon

Looks like the view from my lounge room is changing today, they are knocking down the old windbreak cyprus across the road. Hopefully they are leaving the few natives that are interspersed in a few spots. I think I'll now be able to see some distant hills and trees over the far side of the paddock, at least for a few years until they build houses in the way (and if I'm still here at this point I should have my own garden grown up so I won't be looking at just fences anyway). It would be a much nicer view if the colourbond back fence wasn't mostly in the way.

Writing challenge.

Tell me a story, but it must include these five words: architecture, light, cloud, special, chipmunk

2
imoldgreeeg - 1mon

Charlie the chipmunk had a secret. At night he would tuck in the chipmunk kids, kiss his wife on her chipmunk cheek and head out for a special little 'stroll'...little did they know that was when he transformed into ChipAvenger, donning his cloak and mask he scaled the architecture, waiting for the Chipmunk Light Signal from the police chief. Launching off the rooftops, gliding through the cloud layer and landing on the unsuspecting villains. He'd have them tied up and dealt with and still be home for his acorn custard and a nice cup of tea.
